@bigboy7299 definitely not an f-14, although i suppose they can be easilly confused, the 2 biggest differences would be the shapes of the canopies, the f-14 has more of a teardrop canopy, and the tail, the f-14 has 2 tail fins, the f-111 has only 1

u guys are hopeless. The RAAF doesn't have Tomcats. The only jets we have are F-111's and FA-18 hornets. The plane in the clip was a F-111. I'm 100% sure. If u like jets and stuff in the RAAF then join Australian Air Force Cadets. Its for people between 13 and 20 years old were u learn about Air Force stuff. You also get to visit Air Force bases. If been to Amberley many times before and im only 15.

That plane is definitely an F-111. Look at the single tail; which precludes it from being an F-14, which has 2. Also, if you look at the shape of the aircraft with the wings fully retracted, you'll notice how the trailing edges of the wings nearly touch the horizontal stabilizers. With the B-1, she's got 4 engines in 2 pods under the fuselage, and the horizontal stabilizers are mounted on the vertical stabilizer, up high. If anything, it might be confused with the Panavia Tornado or the MiG-23.

im pretty sure its an F-14, the b-1 bomber isan EXTREMLY loud aircraft especially at such low height the sound would have a static crackle becuase of its high level of sound, f-14s have the very distinct cutback wings which can extend. 95% sure its an f-14

Thanks for everyones comments, So glad we discovered it is an RAAF F-111. I think the circle over head was to check out who I was and why I was there. Lucky laser weapons aren't on the F-111's (yet? ;) ). WMCs Rock!

Yep Amberley has F-111's. But I'm sure if Australia had F-14's we'd still be flying those as well, as the F-111's are older.

that is no doubt an f-111 aardvark. the length of the body and wings give it away. . and by the way, the F-14 IS out of service. the only exception would be like the F-4, which is out of service, except as a drone (QF-4)

I was an Aircraft Tech in Amberley for 7 years. That is an F111. (Not too low, but then again i was there to see them alot lower)
