  • Hey Allan, this is an awesome video i have to say and i admire all the guys there, that they have such amazing skills in cardistry and magic...and your editing and all the sounds fit perfectly to it..so great job man and can you tell me all the songs used in this video please..

  • i love the deathcab placement in this song...

  • I want Dans jacket.

  • @JordanLapping one of the most talented magicians I've ever seen. Really hope he goes places.

  • sONG NAME ON 02:20-???

  • What's the trick dave does when he un mixes all the cards?

  • @skadooobalydooge Hey. That's Dan Buck doing the "Sybil Triumph". It was featured in their recent East Coast lecture - but I'm sure it will be made available to more people some time during this year! It's loosely based on Guy Hollingworth's triumph routine from his Drawing Room Deceptions book! I hope this helps! :)

    best,

    Allan

  • WIN.

    Word.

  • hay guys im 13 and m planning on gong to blackpool 2010. what should do in advance

  • Hey, Alex!

You should make sure to book a hotel room/somewhere to stay in due time, as it gets crowded; and you should also book your convention ticket. What type you want to get is entirely up to you, read what says on their website, which you'll find by googling for Blackpool Magic Convention! =) Best of luck, hope to see you there!

  • what type of tickets did u buy cause i dont want to watch stage shows i just want to see the lectures and the conventon not any shows qhat tickets should i buy pls help fast so can buy em

  • Didn't you have a read on their website? =)

Get the Gold Card. It gives you all you want, including tickets to the shows.. There is no way to NOT get them. However, you can probably manage to sell off the tickets if you want to. To random people on the street and whatnot. We've done it a few times. But that's your responsibility!

    Good luck.

  • Good music choice!! I love death cab for cutie! it's my favorite band. they're from where i'm from. seattle!

  • What is the BLACKPOOL so??

    can someone tell me plz...

    tks...

  • vimaravilhoso, it is probably one of the largest magic conventions in the world

  • Do we need an invitation fot this??

    Tanks for the fast answer

And sorry about my english, im brazilian.

  • um i don't think so, i wouldn't know, ive never been there before,

    sorry

  • Hey, vimaravilhoso.

the Blackpool Magic Convention is the largest magic convention in the world. It's arranged in Blackpool, England in February every year. You do not need an invitation to attend, but it's wise to book your convention access card/tickets in advance to make sure you get good seats for the shows if you want to watch them. If you want to find out more, I suggest you search google for the Blackpool Magic Convention and find their website!

    best,

    Allan

  • Could someone please tell me the name of the flourish Chris Hestnes does at 5:38 please? He does it so nicely.

    -Ben

  • Hi, Ben.

I honestly don't know what it's called. It's one of his own flourishes though - but I'm sure you figured that one out already. If you're curious, you should probably contact Chris himself to find out what it's called!

    best,

    Allan

  • Thanks for the quick reply Allan, I will indeed contact Chris about it.

Thank you for the help man, I love your videos.

    -Ben

So where can I learn the exact triumph routine they did?

  • uhhh idk

  • ok, but nonetheless thanks

joking... it haven't been published yet...

    -JMatta

  • he did a variation of Guy Hollingworths triumph which you can learn in his book drawing room deceptions.

    jurre'

  • probally from the trilogy

  • can someone tell me the name of the triumph trick and the artist that dan performs

  • hi all

could someone please help, if you could Allan, please ask dan

    ok

i realllly like the shirt that dan buck is wearing and i wanted to know, is it one shirt or 2 (the brown underneath and purple on top). If someone does know, please could they tell me the name of the shirt or brand.

    Thank You Very Much. lol

  • 70% of what criss angel does is a camera trick and 20% payed actors,5% gimmicks,5%slights.

  • LOL thats true

  • great video great magic, 5/5, by the way what editing software did you use?

  • Hey. Thank you very much!

    I use Final Cut Pro.

    best,

    Allan

  • what camera did you use in that video ?

  • The Panasonic AG-HPX171E. (AG-HPX170 NTSC version).

    regards,

    Allan

  • i honestly think dan and dave, along with guys like daniel madison, are the best magicians on the planet, even better than criss angel and david blaine. angel's only famous because he had the inflated ego to make a tv show about him on a popular network, and Blaine is more of an endurance artist than a magician.

  • skip the "even" part please.

  • You can really see Criss Angel as a magician. It's more of a performer who entertain people at home behind the television. It's not a real life magician who can perform a trick on the fly to random people.

    -Lorenzo

  • you re talking about card magic I guess..

wenn it comes down to pure skill with cards, then yes I agree.

  • well criss angel has mostly gimmicks he doesnt really use much of sleights so he has gimmicks to do his magic for him and blaine at first was okay but then he started to be an enduranace artist but they are both great but i agree with you

    +1^

  • when you are talking about the tour a man in a scooter go past lol

  • is cool so cool <33333

  • Good gob Allan. Do you know about the trick in the minute 8:50? I like so much. In wich DVD or book appears? Again good job. You're a great magician and a great camera xD.

    Oliver Maldonado (from Spain).

  • Hi there. This effect has been discussed previously in the comments.

However, briefly: it's a small twist on Guy Hollingworth's handling to the Triumph plot, which can be learnt from his book, "Drawing Room Deceptions". Once you know the original from the book, mastery of this small, altered handling would be very easy to attain.

  • hey when is the blackpool convention in february?

  • Hey ! I just wanted to let you know I think this is a great video! Nice job on filming and editing! And as always, a great end result ;) But one Q: What cards are beeing used at 8:40 ?

  • Hey! Thanks for that. Appreciate it.

They're Dan and Dave's Smoke & Mirror playing cards - but apparently they're out of print now. I've still got a brick of each left - but yeah, just google a bit and see if you find some, they're quite decent cards!

    Allan

  • is that their own version of triumph??

    cool

  • No I don´t think so...It is Guy Hollingworth's version of triumph...you can find it in London Collectors I think

  • Drawing Room Deceptions :)

  • Hi cha007,

For the most part it is yes - the main difference here is their addition of the Sybil flourish to show the "unmixing" process. A lot are referring it as Guy Hollingworth's Triumph effect, though his routine is two phases long, so it cant really be called a variation; the only true resemblance it bares is the initial shuffle strip-out found on page 252 of Drawing Room Deceptions (1999) and in his A London Collection video.

    Hope this helps,

    Jordan

  • How come most of the teaser didn't make the final cut. Can't the outtakes be compiled into another video.

  • Is that supposed to be a question? Cause - I don't see the question marks there.. Here are a few for you, in case you're running out: ????????????????

Anyway. What specifically did you see in the teaser that you'd like to see in the video? I included every bit of good footage I had, trust me, I struggled for several months editing this, I'd know.

  • "Here are a few for you, in case you're running out: ????????????????". Looks like someone's been having a bad day...

I appreciate the latter reply though.

  • Aww, lol. Bless you both. :)

    Jordan

  • Speaking of which... When are we gonna see some of those crazy skills again Jordan? Maybe a good ol' webcam video?

  • Don't worry about it man. No biggy, at least now we know you're actually human, I was beginning to wonder.

  • I thought this was going to be hard to live up to because of Blackpool 2008, but great job! This videos are incredible! Keep up the amazing work!

  • cant stop watching this damn video! the triumph is definitely Guy Hollingworth's from Drawing Room Deceptions. He just added the little xcm cut at the end, which was an idea bought up elsewhere, I believe.

  • That's right, XCM cut.

Nice video Allan and the rest of you, I'll try to make it next year. :)

    / Ålan.

  • happy to see this... :)

  • Sorry you must be confused - Guy as in Guy Hollingworth - i believe it was his triumph with some extra buck flare

  • The triumph looks like Guy's with some Buck flare...

  • the triumph dan did was amazing. i was really convinced. hopefully they will come out with that version on their new teaching dvds, or atleast when they come out at least.

  • Great job Allan, the intro and the ending of the video we're so different edited when you compere it with last year.

    The wait was worth it,

    Thanks,

    Ali Esrail.

  • Allan ! nice video man :-D

    you coming next year ?

  • The video is worth the waiting for it :)

  • that video flew by. It was beautiful, brings back so many great memories! Was smiling the whole way through :)
