@XstruthersX Why the hate? It's not like Glen campbell is playing this on every single radio station in the country with a 100million views like most artists of today, and it only has 10,000 views, this is aimed at an acquired audience.
I kinda like this version, and I agree that the greenday one is better, but your post is a little over the top.
@XstruthersX I am a huge Rock fan; Who, Zep, Stones, Skynyrd, Antigone Rising, Metal/Hard Rock/Punk, etc. This version is better than Green Day's for me. What don't you like about it?
noo! he turned a song that means almost everything to me into a shitty country song :/ Glen Campbell may be good, i have no idea, but this kinda pissed me off. uhm, sorry, just had to let it out.
A member of the greatest session musicians ever,"the Wrecking Crew", a touring member with the legendary "Beach Boys" in their heyday and a superstar in his own right. Not many people can match Glen Cambells achievements.
Glen Campbell. A legend. His version of both sides now is a classic (from years ago). Just great seeing a man teaching boys how to tear the f8%£ing roof off.
The whole damn CD is great! Picked it up last night and just finished listening to it. Song selection is brilliant. Glen Campbell is at the top of his game. Production is killer.
Haven't heard the new album yet, but it's great when one artist as legendary as Campbell covers a song by a group legendary in another music genre! Creative and exciting! Remembering him from the 60s and 70s, watching his life "unravel" over the years, and watching him come back, combined with recalling this song on the final episode of Seinfeld actually brought tears to my eyes...(early male menopause or too much whiskey in my coffee? Who knows?)
I wanted to be at this show so bad, it sold out in 4 minutes. Glen Campbell was my first influence for guitar as a little kid. I walked around with my little portable record player listening to his 45s.
a great performer surrounded by class musicians thanks for posting
