  • it never really sat well with me that the filmmakers chose to allow Cain to mow down so many people. It gets to the point where it becomes so irritating to listen to his machine gun going off.

  • It's got chicken legs!

  • Thanks for editing out good parts of the scene. Well done.

  • @jirka717 I think everyone saw number one, and the fans primarily number two. Two stood up well. Of course, it all went downhill from here, starting with the TV series.

  • Why did I think this was going to mccain?

  • Also were things like sparks added in post-production or were they physical props, like ED-209's muzzle flash?

  • Did you create a stop motion doll for the scene where Cain kills Angie?

  • im really surprised that skynet wouldn't think of this. its almost unstoppable. refit it a bit with lasers and some more armor and sent it through time, god, I cant even imagine what it could do.

  • Munch better then any CGI ever!

  • @TankT9 My uncle made robo Cain's digitized face and is in the credits as lead modeler. Just a little place in movie history :)

  • @mansharker8 you may tell him from me that he is AWESOME!

  • I love how shit and amazing this is at the same time

  • @thereaperz1 This has aged very well, actually, back then, you were blown away. Admit it. Fucking admit it.

  • Ah man, just imagine being a giant robot ... killing and terrorizing everything ...

    Too good ^^

  • The music of the Matrix reminds me of this film

  • Imagine a real life robocain! Shit would be deadly as hell. Imagine 10,30,50,100,100's,1,000's of em all coming to you in a battlefield!

  • Robocain is awesome but I can't help but laugh at how superpowered he is. He's got the invulnerability cheat, infinite ammo cheat and 2x strength cheat activated. He squeezes pure nuke into bullets! With the power of his mind!

  • I think Lewis should be reprimanded by supplying drugs to RoboCain

    he he

  • So much better than transformers Fake CGI

  • awesome!

  • when i was a kid, i could watch freddy jason mike myers etc and laugh, but the warehouse scene in this movie scared the crap outta me

  • Iron Man blow this shit out the water.

  • He must be using cheats cause he has infinite ammo.

  • i like it more when robots are stop motion compared to CGI

i dunno why but stop motion looks sooo much more real!

not to mention more entertaining to watch.

  • The Terminator T-900 (IIRC) ain't got shit on RoboCop Mk2.

  • shitty transformers will never catch up, because bay is not a director

  • niiiicee but you missed the scene where robocop says: "Cain, you come with me" and then pushes him with him off the roof. Most epic scene of the movie.

  • reminds me of the terminator stop motion

  • the sound of the minirailgun on the shoulder give me eargasm everytime.

  • If I do die take out my brain so I can be robocain

  • Cain face cgi and flat screen monitor

  • Wow! that was the times!!!))) so nostalgic. Its actually what Transformers wouldve been look like if they were shoot 20 years earlier!

  • Can can he see

  • If I do die I want to be a robot take out my brain and get my revenge :)

  • Greatest robot battle in history! A tad bit better then Terminator, cause these scenes are longer!

  • You know even though i think this film is generaly bad atleast i fully admit how great the stopmotion and creativity that went into Robocain, i just wish that they've would have gone with Clarence Boddicker being resurected as Robocop 2 instead since he used to work for OCP, his knowledge to the crimeworld and basicly he killed Murphy and Murphy killed him so why not have a battle of the undead in part 2

  • Clarence couldn't be resurected because his brain was dead,if you pay attention Cain was in a hospital and his brain was removed in less then 6 minutes after his body died.

  • @Crisshomes1

So you have a clean up crew from OCP standing by to take his brain, who know's maybe Johnson knew about it.

    Could have been an explanation

  • That physcopath of a doctor was fascinated by Cain's lifestyle so she pulled the plug that was keeping him alive and right then she called the crew declaring Cain dead and to have his brain extracted in less then 6 minutes or so.

  • @Crisshomes1

I know didn't like her Character either. Since the films title is Robocop 2 you expect another robocop but you have to wait until the end of the film before he reveals himself.

With Clarence Boddicker they could have gone straight to the point, and the scene with Murphy talking to his wife could have been a larger part of the story.

  • I've always wanted to say this, but only now I've found right words.

I express my deep gratitude to creators of Robocain. It turned out really excellent. I mean, that every single components of Cain are perfect - well-thought-out, original design, full of detales, smooth and realistic animation and others. I've never saw such an interesting model of cyborg in other movies. It's just great. Also, Cain gave me nightmares since chilhood till nowadays (I'm 24). They're not as scary, as exciting :)

  • @mitsoftik man i feeeeel u, u could be me : D

    have a nice day brother : D

  • @mitsoftik I have to agree with you in everthing, I'be watched all movies where are robots/ciburgs/hibrids human-robot's

And Mecha Cain is the best of all in terms of desing, Is big, Scary, Agressive, Powerfull and really detailed.

That why Mecha cain is my top #1 mecha in all moves.

  • Go motion is so brilliant. Phil Tippett is a genius.

  • caine is badass

think about this fucker is after you, run and hide run and hide bitch

theres a big cat after me, a bloody robohuslta

  • Cgi look like video games this look real I only like cgi in Jurassic park that is it Jp 1 and 2 then it die down with 3 but all films does so in my mind bring back movies like this please hollywood

  • Che cazzo di figata!!!

  • Contrast and compare the stop motion in the first two Robocop films to any CG robot from I Robot onwards. The newer stuff just doesn't compete. I'm no great anti-CG campaigner or anything, I think as a technique, it's fine, but for robots and spaceships, it's useless.

Fuck, even the last ten minuites of the first Terminator outstrips a fully CG robot.

  • this makes terminator look like sissy bitch

  • 2:45 is the best shot of the movie.

  • Comment removed

  • This is better then t2

  • I love how RoboCain never runs out of ammo though he shoots tons of bullets from his guns in practically every direction.

  • Stop motion PWNS CGI by 99999999 times

  • @Micr0chiP totally true, this cyber-monster today still creepy to me, shiting my fucking pants, I hate transformers stupids CGIs!

  • 3:17 the surroundind towers look like playstation 1 graphics !

  • I cant stop seen this part of the movie I love it second best terminator but not even terminator come close to this

  • Robocain u sick bastard

  • How did this robot see

  • How did this robot see

  • If I was robocain I will get my revenge to cause my life suck and have the power like this guy I will be in haven lol

  • That robot scared the hell out of me when I was younger.

  • Ok how did he have lights in the wear house then when he fight robo he don't ?

  • @bigboy6969100 Obviously the guys at the lab though the lights were not necessary for this "presentation", so they removed them, they could be instaled and uninstaled as needed.

  • Robocain was the first LCD monitor to be seen in the big screen at the time we had big buck tv and pc good job robocain

  • Always wondered... When did RoboCain lost its left arm?

  • I would like to see something like this Cain fighting crime, I like Robo the most but Cain looks more badass and lethal

  • what does cain get pissed off about just before he kills the girl??

  • @anthonymolloy Because he remembers when he was in the hospital (after the crash with Robocop) and Hob and Angie didn't came to rescue him.

  • dude... remember seeing this guy. freaked me out when i was little. i mean it's like... FUCKIN HUGE WITH A BIGGER MACHINE GUN. XD Then after seeing it when grown up. he's a bad ass robot. to bad he was a psychopath. : /

  • Megatron eat your heart out.

  • 1:04 Andross???

  • So the psychologist chick puts homicidal maniac Cain's brain into super powerful killer robot (um, okay...) and then implements a strict set of prime directives that stops him from turning on them oh no wait she just leverages him with drugs? What? So even though they have an entire sequence showing robo being fucked up by all his new directives and a way to clear them from his memory none of that plays into the last third of the film where the script just shits the bed.

  • @apvideogame Nah, the script still makes sense. The pshychologist had Robo's memory filled with silly prime directives on purpose, so that he would seem defective, then she would have an excuse to roll out her new "Robo-cain" design. She didn't care about small details, such as whether Robo-cain worked properly or not She just cared about climbing her way to the top - by whetever means possible (possibly including sleeping with the boss)

  • Thumbs up if you think Michael Bay could learn a thing or two from watching this

  • He kill the women cause she left him to die so pay back is a bitch

  • That Cain robot scared every little kid and I'm still scared haha

  • @Moneymanmuzic

hahaha, yeah. I still remember the movie scaring the crap out of me when he kills his woman. He just spontaneously spazzes out and crushes her head.

  • @Moneymanmuzic RoboCain scared me a little bit too... especiall when you could see the computerized face, bleh... but is it bad if Ed209 scared me the most about of any of them? lol

  • I go to the same pain every day

  • Now I understand why robocain got mad cause the woman left him to die so he twisted her head nice some time I wish I can do that to any one that miss with me

  • NO NO NO. Another video that left out the awesome moment of Murphy saying: "You're coming with me, Cain" before pulling him in to fall.

  • I really like stop motion it works good on robot but cgi is ok too but I wish movie bring back robot I like transformer to but cgi to stop motion I pick stop motion

  • Come on really how much crap are you going to cut out? This is garbage.

  • INFINITE BULLETS LOL

  • I adore Robocain. It was hard to be frightened watching this as a child because while I was watching I imagined myself as Robocain. Tippett did a great job with ED-209 and followed it up with even tighter work with Cain.

  • not even animations even horror and sci fi movies are also very creepy and very scarier for me in older movies.

  • that stopmotion made me feel like i was watching ray haryhausen's work.

  • @Micr0chiP

    I agree :)

  • I don't know but the old motions are much scarier and freaky compared to the new CGI.

I used to have nightmares because of it.

  • @Crisshomes1

The thing about modern CGI is that it either looks too real or not very realistic at all. Stop motion and traditional effects use real element that people can see and understand.

All in all this stop footage has aged quite well compared to CGI less than a couple years old.

  • @Crisshomes1 omg totally... i used to be so scared of this scene as a kid... cgi doesnt even do it to me... lool

  • Perhaps stop motions look more robust or some wierd effect.

It can't put my finger on it.

  • @Crisshomes1 I feel the exact same way.

  • @Crisshomes1 Fuck yeah! They are too creepy. And the scenes where Cain was killing everyone in the warehouse and the Delta City presentation where haunting me for years :S

  • A Sidenote: This isnt Stop-Motion. Its Go-Motion, a refined type of Stop-Motion where the Model is moved slightly (comouter controlled) while shooting the individual frame, thus preventing the usual Stop Motion-Staccato-Effect and creating Motion-Blur that makes the animated Object look more realistic. You can also see Go-Motion in Dragonslayer and Star Wars: Episode VI and it was originally planned to use it in Jurassic Park too...

  • I like his strut

  • Comment removed

  • 02:49 - He looks so BADASS and menacing, even though that clip is so short i love when he walks down that hallway.

  • This robot used to scare the living shit out of me as a kid.

  • I have no ideo why people didn't like this as much as the first. I thought they were both awesome.

  • |That Chaingun is so badass.

  • SO SCARY....SHIT IT LOOKS SO REAL

  • SO SCARY....

  • "BEHAVE YOURSELVES!"

  • Genius. It doesn't even look like stop motion. It holds up better 25 years later than most special effects do 5 years later.

  • F*ck CGI! Stop-motion owns!

  • 3:05 shit myself.

  • 2:13 Cain is like; "Nobody controls me! I do as I please!"

  • As Robocop #2, Cain is one lethal killing machine! He doesn't care who gets in his way! And that is what happens when you give a robot the brain of a criminal; you get a monster.

  • Robocain vs ED209. Now that is a fight i would pay a shitload of money to see.

  • @leahcimrac

yeah just make sure are no flights of stairs near by and that should be a good fight

  • @TheProjektcc Or little kids with laptop computers as was demonstrated by Robocop 3.

  • @leahcimrac

hahahaha oh yeah forgot about that one. how could the designers of ED209 not foresee that.? Laziness

  • @TheProjektcc In Robocop 3 OCP who make ED209 are taken over by a Japanese company. Japan make the best computers around and even so a little kid with a laptop makes a cutting edge killing machine "loyal as a puppy." Perhaps she wrote a program to overwrite ED209 in like 2 seconds.

  • @leahcimrac After the stands are blown up and $ is fallln in the air, i'm taken ROBOz 3-round burst with ONG BIG EXTENDED MAGt.clip. (I think it's jus a reg. 9mm.Berretta with some Hollywood shit thrown in.After some samurai ninjas take it off, ughh! I want ROBOT WARS like TechtV used to have only with convicted death mates and rapists, come on...you know it would be the Human thing, Ya break the 4 directives shit happens!

  • Cain is still the best robot design I've seen on film. Killing machine is the only way to describe it.

  • @LukeQuietus yep that's what happens when you put a crazed junkie drug warlord into a bi-pedal battle-tank a

Who was writing this shit on paper and though "this looks good?"

  • @SmokenAces But it is good

  • awesome - you cut out all the best bits..

  • Alien, Terminator, Robocop = quality sci-fi. Science fiction directors are rare and much needed. Only the best directors can do good sci-fi.

  • OMG OMG, Ironman killed Iron monger the same way murphy killed robocain

  • @GladiusDidimus ehh, i wouldn't go that FAR but close, jump on back (checK), +RiPP out targeting grid +check, (this part makes No sense in Iron2 cuz the dude is 9ft tall and has his helmet removed, completely exposed & 12 ft away with an arm-mont.d mini gun/ AND Missles- CLEAR LINE OF SIGHt ? ANYONE!?

Rip out cybernetic implants connected to brain-encased bone.

Can amped on NUKE-+ Ironmonger never needed the nuke and he was SO heavy, I lol'd at his take off time. nOT to knock on him, laserZ

  • @SmokenAces tru tru, good pionts

  • that thing looks like its running osx...

tubbed cocaine is a hell of a robo drug.

  • This thing was one scary sight. Especially when that screen popped out and in again.

  • stop motion at its finest

  • 2.32 comedy sound effect

  • 1:06 ANDROSS?

  • Damn it, his chain gun sounds so cool... I guess, its not that cool if YOU are the one being shot at, but otherwise... It's pretty nice!

  • cyberpunk porn -=]

  • I liked the Upper half of the Cain mecha, but the rest of it looks terrible with those tiny chicken legs. And how much ammunition does that thing have? You can see the tiny drum on it's left arm at 4:25, but there's no way that he could keep shooting for that long and not run out. I also wonder why people in movies like this just stand there shooting at something they can't destroy with regular bullets for half an hour. It's kinda like shooting a tank with a BB gun, hoping you will kill it.

  • che una pregunta porke las esenas estan cortadas?¿

  • That thing was made for warfare, not law enforcement. 's a fuckin' murder bot.

  • if I get blown up I want to be put into a robocain body

  • sent two of these babys in the next war then its fucking over the day it started

  • Got to love the cartoon sounds in the background...

  • man, they built that robocop 2 like the criminals on the streets were decepticons !

  • @tzanegmr Well, criminals in Detroit are probably worst than decepticons.

  • @tzanegmr

    yeah one man fuckin army

not even a bloody assault cannon stopped it

  • 0:45 Duke Nukem influence maybe?

  • Funny as hell.

And of course it would be a very good idea to give a well known homicidal maniac a body almost indestructible fitted with a mini gun lol XD

  • @Micr0chiP Yeah, stop-motion looks just fine in films. With the exception of Jurassic Park, CGI has absolutely ruined any film that employs it and Hollywood just dosen't seem to realize that.

Btw, the design of Cain and the noise he makes when he walks was absolutely brilliant.

  • @RaptorJesus720 I couldn't have written it better myself. CGI is best used in combination of good puppet work and real world effects.I would have to add district 9 to the better CGI films. The textures looked so real I thougt they were guys in suits.

  • What did they do with the machine's body after the brain was removed ? he he , maybe he will reappear in another movie, this is the only movie about robots that I never forget, the design of this robot (CAIN) is fantastic, I think they should create a real one he he, ok lest watch the new movie, I've read that it's suppose to be in the cinemas in 2012

  • This video is pure robotic porn.

  • the sound of cains gun is awesome

  • This think is Fucking sic..makes me wanna rewatch the Robocop Movies

  • why the fuc is this shit skippin parts

  • 20 years later, and that thing is still scary as hell!

  • cain climbing that elevator hall is so epic. it scared the crap out of me as a kid

  • The choppy editting makes me nauseous

  • In the movie story i think that the OCP don´t want the cyborg destroid because if the want they wood call the army wiht big guns...

  • I gonna find out who you are and kill you ,this is for my honor and pride ,no one mess wiht me, you will pay with your life thats is for shure.

  • This sniper here is going to kill the mother fuker that is bloking this video that i wont to see...

  • great video ;)

  • Best mechanical-character I've ever seen.

  • Best mechanical-charakter I've ever seen

  • V.R remote controled robot....

  • DANGER , hevy cyborg.....etc...................

  • EXELENTE VIDEO! FELICITACIONES!

  • @037METAL what the little boy name in real life

  • funniest part at 1:21 that shooter is like poof be gone... he disappears so fast lol

  • @SEALBound

I always imagined his OCP programming stepped in , much like Robocop's directives.

  • this is great referencee material. nicely done!

  • Rear projection shot of his feet comign out scale cain and truck and phony foreground against a projectedback ground plate of the real location.

There is one shot missing from this montage, the shot where he is presented to the crowd at the convention centre and he broads his chest at the flashing cameras.

  • @MegaTokyojoe what the little boy name?

  • As far as stop motion goes this is pretty fucking impressive

  • At first I thought, only 6 minutes? But it's quite amazing - mixture of live action and stop-motion. This must have been the tail-end of stop-motion - you just can't beat real objects in space. I'm no expert but this must be some of the best I've ever seen. Tippett is a master.
