The first Desiro train drove in Germany and is a best Train.

This type of train is already all over Europe for a few years in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Hungary and maybe ohers also. But i never heard this funny horn at this type of train :)

This is not the original horn of the Desiro! These are only on the USA's Desiros and are electrohorns... The Desiros have great aerohorn :D :D :D (Why the driver is making that horn and not the loud aerohorn?)

Those crossings make horrible electronic noises too... The horn from the desiro is almost drowned out by it. Why still sound that scooter horn?

At night the BNSF Escondido Local works the subdivision between CP Railroad (The Wye in Oceanside) and Escondido. In San Marcos it does not operate on the CSUSM loop, but a bypass track (The original Escondido Sub)

I think a real K5LA is in order for this line. This comes from someone whos ridden San Diego Rails since age 6.

My friend who makes a few cameos in the video has talked to NCTD officials and the cars have a very low air pressure manifold output, good for about two chimes. They could be upgraded, but trust me when I say based upon the dense residential packed in around the line people would complain and the horns would be sidelined for emergency use. Upgrading's too expensive just for emergency use, so an electronic K5LA with an S1 or P2 air horn for emergencies would probably work best.

Has NCTD thought about maybe going the San Diego Trolley route and installing their horns? About the electronic K5LA.. meh.. its growing on me, and i guess its not a bad idea for the Sprinter. Cya on the Surfliner!
