  • Its not always about the speed its the emotion you put into it makes it special!

  • This is great!!!! I haven't seen a Trio Piano do such a good job at staying together the way that they did!!! Wonderful recital.....LOVE IT...

  • GREAT JOB! Those who are critical....can you play it the way Liberace does? This is AWESOME....THESE ARE STUDENTS!!!! I LOVE IT!

  • I can't play this...yet...LOL, my hands are too small! However, I can't play duets, either! This is very good! I'd imagine the glissandos were hard to do together!

  • i can play every known musical instrument equally badly but [advantage] i play piles of bricks and iron with the same musical flourish. THIS is so much better.

  • the speeded up aot

  • Wonderful. Give us an update on everybody.

  • they are very good. thanks.

  • wow you guys are awesome(: We are tap dancing to this song...and it's fast enough to dance it-i can't imagine playing it.(:

  • great guys doing a good thing to play boogie at that age..keep the boogie alive!!

    Eeco

  • Look at how old the ladies are compared to the boy, and then notice that the little boy is actually playing the same piece. Just saying. :P

  • I can play it on 3 pianos on my own.

  • I play my piano recitals every year here lol and I've played this too but alot faster

  • They had to intentionally slow it way down in or order to coordinate the performances of the three players simultaneously. It's still impressive.

  • People who are better than this plays amazingly without the sheets. Without. And they way they do it? They memorize. They read it off the sheet and it's too slow.

But it's got a good melody, one advantage.

  • people, please calm down about the speed...they are students, it's prob a recital...they are not replicating the history of boogie woogie...they are showing they can study, practice and perform a certain style...

  • @flybymight its not really replicating if you cant play the styles intended speed... so technically they did a rather poor job

  • Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to slow

  • This sounds like one piano, And, besides that, it is played hyper-slow.

  • you call that bumble boogie? I should play it for you, you'd have a totally different perspective of the song. That Bee sounds like its going to buzz its last buzz pretty soon

  • Personally, I think it was way too slow.

    But thats just me..

  • Emotionless. That is being played as an excercise not a boogie. Also, when you start a song like that you have a bloke going 1, ,2, , 1,2,3,4.

however, these are very talented classical pianists.

  • Agreed, check out Liberace's version if you haven't already..its amazing

  • WOW...three pianists and it still sucked more than a supercharged vacuum

  • I remember learning this piece 30 or so years ago when I was a student of Mrs. Chu's. It was neat to see this. Thanks for posting it!

  • hmmm...somehow there is no groove; they have to get "the feeling" ^^

  • and speed up. check the jools holland version, this isnt a boogie, more of a feelingless piano excersize. you have to really enjoy playing piano and the boogie style to get it right.

    whisky helps aswell

  • it's is boring. too slow and no feeling.

  • @neakmorse Sigh. Listen. Everyone has been saying the same thing. It's supposed to be fast. That's just one person, when they can go at their own speed. Now think; Two people must play slower, otherwise they are not synchronized. They would easily split and make the song sound like moosh. They must play at a slow speed where they can hear each other play, and stay together. Now, imagine three people. They must play even slower. This is a WONDERFUL performance by three people.

  • wow 3 steinways

  • We loved it. Congratulations all three. What a gift!

  • sorry but this is a mess!

  • Was the kid at the back even doing anything?

    not sure couldn't see lol

  • pefect synchronization

  • wow

  • it`s too slow!

  • i wanted to b fast :'(

but still playing 3 times at once

they deserve kudos for that lol

  • Lovee it :)

Also love the jools holand version :)

  • Actually it's quite good

Give them a break guys -- it's a piano recital, not a rock concert!

  • Get some passion and SWING!

  • I watched the Jools Holland version and the difference is what he has going for him is a jazz band to back up the rhythm to make the song have even more feeling. So I feel he kind of cheated ha ha. I didn't hear the version with piano only by him, is there one?

  • in my opinion this is by no means a bad performance - far from it - but i'd already seen Jools Holland's version before watching this and it doesn't even compare. It's AWESOME!

  • Really good technique, and kept well in time.

However, you need to feel the piece more!

  • perhaps, but its a little hard to bring out emotion when there are 3 players playing the same part im sure..

  • I think this is great. Somebody posted earlier about the metronome, it's to count the beat to make sure all 3 pianists start at the same time. I don't think 3 people playing at the same time can get much faster than this, and it sounded awesome. :)

  • Wow....great job u guys!!

My frens n I r gonna play "The Jig is Up!" stimutaneously

It's a fast ragtime piece n theres about 4-5 ppl playin in it...

Could u give any advice on hw 2 kip up d unity in sound?

As 4 d others hu comment dat their playing isn't gud, I want u 2 rmb dat they're playing it simutaneously n dat they're individuals not robots so its slow cuz they nid 2 kip time...

I bet u wouldn't noe hw 2 play fast in a group of 6 with a tempo of 200 rite? give them a break...

  • I think they were all brilliant. Well done you three.

  • OHHHHHH K

never seen a slower version, even when i started to learn this song i was playing faster than you guys. In a contest the girls (especialy the black dress one) you would loose all your points on how to stant while playing piano... thats kinda sad...

Props to the lil kid at the back, cause he looks young and he could get better one day.

PLUS whats the deal of commin with a freekin metronome??????? you dont know your speed????

  • i agree too slow and players have no feel for music at all. They played so stiff it almost made me cry really a discrace to sucha great song.

  • Well that comment won't help anybody will it. Why do humans like to complain when its nothing near constructive.

  • i said it was way to slow, they obviously knw the song but it is much to slow and I would love to see tem play it faster and maybe not be stiff as boards.

  • my grandma cud put more feeling into this piece than you guys.Your have the opportunity to play on 3 steinways and you play a not very technically challenging piece that is the same for all 3 parts. It's this that gives pianists such a bad name when it comes to ensemble playing. There's no energy put into this piece from any of you.

  • Yeah, I've heard this song so many times that I can hear the lack of passion in their playing. ANd the speed needs to be upped a bit. Too slow.

  • great job guys! You have a lot of talent!

  • You took all the boogie out of it! Go listen to the Jools Holland version and be in shame

  • i completly agree.. i cant argue there is no talent but this is so lifeless compared to wat it should be it just plods along it should boogie and swing go check jools hollands version guys

  • Your so right! It's more like a death march than anything else!

  • lol :)

  • Maybe the Grammy's would think differently? Perhaps Barry Manilow can team up and turn it into an elevator theme! hahaha hahaha.

  • So can each of these students. Get two more pianists and try it. It's one thing to play solo, a much more difficult task to have three play the same song at the same time.

  • @SAKeil and on 3 diferent pianos

  • @qweytrewq These are just high school kids. I have turetts syndrome and I can play faster than you. nabbit, yerpo splish splash.

  • Did I notice a Baldwin and two Steinway pianos???? Otherwise, a job well done by all! This, by far, is the ultimate joy in playing the piano......

  • Great eyes. You were correct. The recital hall is in a piano store and they are kind to let the students use them.

  • Wow! Would like to see the pianos arranged in a tripod configuration (in the shape of the trillium flower- official flower of Ontairo).

  • Bravo! Not only to the three students for a job well done, but also to the teacher for creating this opportunity for them to play as an ensemble!

  • Why three piano?

  • Three studens who knew the song. Also, three grand pianos can really fill a room with sound

  • So can one person playing the whole song on one piano.

  • Yes. It was originally arranged as a solo for a single piano.

  • aha!! finally found some ppl who've got the same peice of music as i do!! well... heard a few mistakes and stuff, but otherwise THAT WAS TOTALLY SWEEEEEET!!! (btw this isnt kyubii2244.... this is his sister who plays piano and really wishes she could master that piece of music. been in love with it since i was about 4 and started playing it last Christmas)

  • Awesome:)
