I own the entire DVD boxset of the first Wataru series. I bought it last year from a now gone anime store that carried tons of imports. The English subtitles are awful as hell though. XD

I still can't believe this series hasn't been included in SRW. Not only is it a Sunrise anime, but all the mechs in it are already Super Deformed. It just seems like such an obvious choice to be in the games to me, is all.

The Taiwanese movie is 幽幻導士.The TV series was made as a spin-off in Japan because it was considerably popular.

Oh yes, you are correct! Just viewed a video of the ending of KEITH COURAGE here on YouTube. I beat the game long ago and forgot how that tune sounded. I still have my TG-16 and games. KC was one of my favorites. Now I just have to see this anime!

I was able to get the 3 DVD box sets with English subtitles but sadly #41 in the first series someone at the anime company messed up and put only chinese subs!

I'd never saw the anime, but i did played the old turbo graphics 16 game (keith courage and the alpha zone) i didn't have any idea that it was a anime first. I want to see some episode to understand the series some more though.

They probably just "severed" all references for the North American version....and came up with the sides of "N.I.C.E" (Keith was on it) and "B.A.D." (a nod to CONTROL and KAOS?) But it's interesting to think that things such as the rainbow-teleport are inspired by something...more. And "Nurse Joy" and "The Weapon Guy" also have their own Nova Suits? Cool.
