  • they used to make us kids watch this in school years ago

  • Looks like they hired Terry (MONTY PYTHON) Gilliam to do the animation at 0:46-0:54

  • wow, i been searching for this for 35 years now. that is when i last heard it.

  • no wonder why I got it wrong

I thought it was "It could be you"

    is this on dvd?

  • i watch it on captain kangaroo in 1973 on cbs and 1977-78 on small world kids show on wtvm 9 ABC locally in columbus ga.back then.same kids from 'most important person'i love watch it and also on you tube.it's brings me back childhood memories.now today we are grandparents with grandkids.

  • Is that the voice of "Time For Timer"?

  • Thanks for this I have been look for ages it was one of my childhood favorites.

  • As it says above they used this during telecasts of cartoons to fulfill the requirement of educational TV...for me... it was 5 minutes to go grab a snack...or hit the john to drop a deuce...

  • ...and then come the student loans... LOL

  • Wow...I loved this when I was a little kid. Thank you!

  • Anyone out there remember a similar cartoon, aired around the same time, about a turtle who had a friend who was a wizard or sorcerer? Every episode, this turtle wanted to try a different job, so the wizard granted him this wish. When thing's fell apart for him in this job, (and always did), the wizard brought him back. Haven't seen that show in years. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

  • TOOTER TURTLE was one of the segments of THE KING LEONARDO SHOW (1960-61). Tooter had his friend Mr. Wizard (the Lizard) magically transport him to another land and/or time to live a different existence. Mr. Wizard would grant Tooter's wishes, and each time Tooter's experiences would end disastrously, prompting him to cry out, "Help me, Mr. Wizard!" Mr. Wizard brought him back by chanting "Drizzle, drazzle, druzzle, drome - time for this one to come home." Lesson: Be happy with your own life.

  • @mikecleona I heard my mom talking about it, like he was like Help me mr wizard!

  • Daaamn I remember this back in the 70s

  • todays kids dont know jack about PSA and all that stuff. Loved Snippets!

  • The "Come Back Here" is the most famous and sought-after Snippet! I tried to make it as a kid, but couldn't. The Spinning Tops I don't remember. The Prejudice PSA I do have in my massive commercials collection. And you are right...the 70s Were the Best!

  • Does anyone have the other 14 episodes of "The Kingdom of Could Be You"? This was a rare program, along with "The Most Important Person" and "Snippets".

  • I love SNIPPETS!

The boy who puts rubberbands in the coffee can "COME BACK HERE" and the spinning tops who all but one fall "THEY DID NOT HAVE BREAKFAST...I DID and do you remember the boy and grandpa THEN YOU ARE PREJUDICE FOR YOU THINK OF JIMMY AS YOUR JEWISH FRIEND AND NOT YOUR FRIEND...The 70's were simply the best

  • Wow! I remember all the words! O.o

  • What a memory! I want to gp back to that time when I was 11!!!1975!!!!!!What a great year!

  • The best! You had ice cream trucks with KUNG-FU tv series cards. Six million dollar man lunch box that stinks of sour milk and who can forget LA-LALALA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LALALA-LA "VILLA ALEGRE"

  • i was chi, too, and remember it, too.

  • I remember seeing this on WFLD-Channel 32 in Chicago (Kaiser Broadcasting back then, not Fox) circa 1977.

  • good after school stuff!!!

  • this brings back so many memories for my husband and i. thanks for posting it.

  • Dude Could you upload that episode with the Pirate who says Ahoy Wizard! I think it was about Marine research or something not sure, but that episode has stuck in my head for decades.

  • Thanks for posting this. The theme song pops in my head occasionally and I never could remember it all. Fun.

  • Thank you its nice to get up in the morning

and play this before going to work. For I remember for I remember this before going

to school...Now I just need my BATMAN MEGO'S

WORLDS GREATEST SUPER HEROES DOLL my pack

of KUNG-FU CARDS from the ice-cream truck

get ready for ZOOM ZOOM REVIEW and the

SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN..."sniff" the 70's

    you could not touch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mego's for days!!!

  • and days and days!

  • As for being an artist, I hope that girl is ready to face starvation and poverty. Then again, was that not her stacking cans at the

grocery store? Sorry, kids, being an artist is not an occupation, unless you manage to get a government grant.

  • Hence the term "starving artist."

  • "There's a pauper--could be you...."

  • Gee, you could even be a nun ...

  • Another '70s "Boogie Down" kids' classic from MY kidhood! Thanks for digging this stuff up. ;)

  • When exactly will "The Kingdom of Could Be You" be available on DVD?

  • As soon as some dollar DVD company digs up a set of 16mm film prints. That would be my best guess!

  • Yes, I have read that it was John Sutherland not Hal Sutherland).

  • Another classic of the Commander Tom Show on WKBW Channel 7 in Buffalo.

  • I don't know, but Sutherland Enterprises is not related to Hal Sutherland of Filmation fame.

  • That was neat cartoon from the past. I like how this magic land gave kids a chance to try out their dream jobs to see if they like them or not. Very neat. :)

  • FINALLY! These shorts used to be on CBC in Barbados (along with "The Most Important Person") in their own slots. I thought I'd never see them again... THANKS!

  • I've been looking for this for a year

  • Do the kids in the Kingdom of Could Be You shorts look like the kids who appear in Most Important Person shorts - at least some of the kids?

  • Yeah, I always thought so, but as I recall, don't they have different names? And in some cases, different colored hair?

  • Wow. I never thought I'd see these again. Thanks for uploading.

  • On second thought the deep voice DOES sound more like Ravenscroft than

    Paul Frees.

  • Toon, You da man!

  • Do you have the Kingdom of Could Be You episode "Public Service" (YEAH-YEAH-YEAH!) to be uploaded on YouTube?

  • Unfortunately, no...still looking for more.

  • I wish I found a list of the Kingdom of Could Be You episodes made (same for the Most Important Person episodes).

  • Kingdom Of Could Be You 1. The Kingdom Of Could Be You 2. Agribusiness 3. Business And Office 4. Communication 5. Construction 6. Consumer Homemaking 7. Environment 8. Fine Arts And Humanities 9. Health 10. Manufacturing
  • 11. Marine Science

    12. Marketing And Distribution

    13. Personal Service

    14. Public Service

    15. Recreation--Hospitality--Tourism

    16. Transportation

  • Thanks for the list. I hope you post on one of the Most Important Person shorts on YouTube the complete list of Most Important Person shorts or you can send me a message with the MIP short list.

  • I don't have a complete list, just a list of the ones I have on film. If anyone has a complete list of titles, I'd definitely be interested. I've read a figure of "66," but don't have any idea if that's accurate.

  • That means since about 66 Most Important Person shorts were made only 16 Kingdom of Could Be You shorts were made? Did Sutherland Enterprises do other animated short series besides Most Important Person and Kingdom of Could Be You?

  • I have no idea.

  • Bless you ToonORama, Thank You for bringing back a heartwarming childhood

memory, always felt this had a disney like feel to it.HOPE YOU HAVE MORE

episodes to download.I think Paul Frees is the deep voice, not Rvnscrft.

  • EUREKA. Sorry I mean I'm glad Someone posted the KINGDOM OF COULD BE YOU on Youtube.

  • Want to get a good job? Try it!
