a little too much dissonance in the supposed "harmony" near the start but when they perform this song well (this isn't one of their better versions IMO) it's a good listen. I just hate that I work at American Eagle and every hour or so they play this live version of the song when there are ones out there that the harmony is better attained.

I fully agree with this statement, there wasn't harmony at the beginning, and you honestly didn't deserve thumbsdowns for saying so. There are better versions, and anyone can pick up that no sense of harmony was achieved in this take. People should understand that it's not a rag on the whole band, just one small component of one song. Critique improves work. Now if you received thumbsdowns because you work at American Eagle, well, not going to argue that one.
