great performance. I wasn't sure about some of the cuts. But it IS a truly long piece, so if you had time constraints then cuts do become necessary.

I appreciate your tone. Nicely dark and rounded, and present which is the most important.

This is a common mistake, and I'm surprised your teacher didn't point this out, but at 4:22, that small section, you took it TWICE as fast as it needed to be. If you look back at the music and the previous 32nd notes, you will notice this.

I have a copy of the 1901 Carl Fischer edition. This performance has made use of some judicious cuts. Unfortunately the video is not in sync with the audio.

I think this is a superb performance. The two previous posters demonstrated a childish lack of professionalism in their comments.

good thing you can't play it all? yeah what is up with that? I dont' really get that at all. Very unstylistic (yeah if that's even a word). What was with the end? Um you took it so fast and it ruined it, and you left beats out, you seems like MEASURES ahead of your accompanist! It's called REHEARSAL TIMES work together.

Keep working on it pumpkin you might get it someday.

I wonder...do you know this piece at all, musiclovingman? Because I know this piece through and through, and the player wasn't measures ahead of the accompanist in any way, and was actually quite dead on. She also didn't leave any, and i mean ANY, beats out.The breaks you heard are sixteenth note breaks written into the music, since this is a clarinet piece written for clarinet...not piano or strings. Wind players need breath. Your critique is an unwarranted type of bitter.

Dai Le is quite a player. Wonderful technique and a fine sound. Her musical expression is very professional. She reminds me of a more musical Sabine Meyer. As a clarinetist who has played this piece many times, I can say it's challenge to bring it off.

I was wondering the same thing. I believe that the version that I played recently was the Ricordi version, and I have a recording of Ricardo Morales playing that version. This seems slightly condensed, but is still a stellar performance!
