Anyway, this conversation is silly, since I didn't say anything negative about Raghu. I just said "Why are these professional producers/actors/industry people raving about him?"

So, I went and look at the crowd reactions - and the crowds really like this guy. I think he'll go places, he has very strong charisma. Is that why they react so much?

For me? I dont know, I love Indian music from the north or south, but I need to listen to some more of Raghu to "get" it. Great voice, music OK.

Well some facts : Raghu Dixit is a gold medalist n master in Microbiology.. Was then a scientist in microbiology.. Master Bratanatyam dancer (thats the highest level).. left it all for his passion, Music.. If that does not command respect , I dono what these losers commenting here have achieved..

I'm in Ireland, and I've given this time to listen to, - I'm Irish, not Indian, but I respect your culture, and like a lot of your music.

I think Raghu is great as a local folk music hero, good powerful musician, but I don't really understand why the stars make it sound like a unique musical experience that we'll never forget.

I've only heard a couple of songs, but I think that there are more people in India who are potentially better. I do like Raghu's charisma, prescence and groove

Hey dude I ll tell you this story. He is from this place called Mysore. I went to his concert and at that time he was not a famous at all. So though I liked his voice but could not tolerate his high pitch singing for too long period of time lol. He is ok singer and an ok artist but nothing very great or special about him. Its all just hype.

@emmetor its because, we love people who chase their dreams.. for ur information, he is a gold medalist in microbiology i.e. MSc in microbiology, highly talented in bharathanatyam..... but still he left all those there itself and went behind music which is his passion,.... gotcha!!!!
