I need help please. My turtle beach HPA2 headset's sound is being werid. The right ear cup is fine, but the left has no sound comming out of it. I have to move the wire then hold it there for the sound to come out.
Is the Turtle Beach XPS HPA2 (where it says XPS on the headband) the same as the Turtle Beach HPA2 Headset where it says "Turtle Beach" on the headband? I got my HPA2 from a friend and it's different from my other friend's HPA2 in that my headband says "XPS Audio By Turtle Beach" while his says "Turtle Beach" on the headband. Hope mines isn't fake.
You can use the HPA2 headset with the PS3 by itself with a $5 part from logitech. Logitech has a rca to headset jack adapter that usually comes with their surround sound speaker systems, you can find them on ebay for $5-10, and for that matter you can find this headset on ebay for less than $40. So... for around $40-50 you can have a 5.1 headset. Yes, its not optically connected but they work fine connected via analog and the sound is awesome. Suprised the guys at TB didn't think of this..
My HPA2's say XPS Audio by Turtle beach. are these like special edition headphones? oh also it came with like a little work box with like 3 screw drivers and lots of padding.
If you get distorted sound just lower the volume in Windows to fix it. Find your settings and don't overkill the bass and you will love these. I've had mine for 8 months now and they have done a great job. I even use them for music, even though the bass is too powerful for it sometimes. Again, it's analog; fiddle with the settings to get best sound. I've compared mine to G930 and my HPA2's are waay better. IDK about the G35 tho. they have good reviews but are not true surround. i love my turtles
I am so glad I bought the Turtle Beach HPA2's and did not listen to some people on the internet saying they break down with time or give bad quality sound. These people simply did not know or take the time to fiddle with the output level on each channel. My amp settings are Front: 4.5 Centre: 5 Surround: 8.2 Sub: 7.5;I can locate people in shooters without even seeing them.
@ivchomalkiqa You are 100% right. If you're not willing to set the volumes independently and adjust them per game, you're not getting the most from your headset. I'm glad you took some time and got the headset running up to its true potential!
@DrRaper There's a splitter on our site that will give you what you need. Just email sales (at) turtlebeach (dot) com and tell them what you're looking for.
@DrRaper Get the Astro Mixamp cable (the HPX1 cable). I'm assuming that your jack has a 4-pole connection that handles both mic and audio, right? If that's the case then the Astro Mixamp connection will do it. THey're $10 on our site.
@TTheResponder100 You can plug the green jack into the headphone output on the laptop, but you'll only hear stereo. To hear 5.1, you need three output jacks on the PC or laptop.
Will the price of these go down, My family is kinda down in the middle poor section and at 100 bucks its kinda hard. So will the price go down soon in the future?
Will the new ones that are coming out be compatible with the astro mix amp like these ones were?because they are much better then the astro headsets considering the 8 speakers.
@EastTownGames It's discontinued. Sometimes you can find them online, but they're not very plentiful. If you go to Google and search for "Turtle Beach HPA2" and then click on the "Shopping" link at the top of the page, then you'll likely be able to find a pair. (I just did this and found two places selling them.)
@adambombiswaycool Not true. We sell additional leads for the HPA that make it compatible with a number of sources, including mp3 players, the Astro Mixamp, iPhones, Androids and more.
It is however designed for PC use and has 8 speakers, but it's not limited to PC use only.

I'm getting this! I thought he snapped the Mic off at 2:30... Until he explained that it could be removed for when you don't want to talk for have it in your way even a little bit.
Long ago, I have owned a battery powered earphone that gave the extra bass sound. Ever since then I've been looking for something that was similar but could not find one since 1998. Then finally i come across this earphone and viola! this is the earphone I have been looking for. The sound is amazing, especially the gunshots. It sounds as if it has power into every trigger I pull. One draw back to this is if you wear glasses, it wears back of your ear lube. Therefore, I suggest wearing contacts.
Hey turtle beach, why is the hpx 1 cable so goddam hard to find? I'm in the uk and your uk supplier limexb360 doesn't have any and I've trawled the web forever and genuinely can't find one anywhere and you don't ship directly to the uk so I'm stumped, can u help?

@ThePaulg123 There's no difference between those and the regular HPA2s. It was just a branding thing. If you aren't happy with the XPS branding, contact support via email and they'll take care of you.
These headphones are great! but the microphone sucks broke in less then 2 days the first time I tried to remove it..........but headphones are good..........not worth 100$ But whatever.
@FrostyEso 5.1 Surround at $99? Sounds like one of the best values on the market. Microphone broken? Contact support via email they can send you a new one, or they are available on the website as a replacement.
Had a problem with static now there better dont wanna bother with that other stuff just gonna use them as headphones other people should get these if they are reading this just be carefull with the mic xD the ear cups are a bit itchy tho owell great sound lol.
I just got this on Sunday. Any tips on how to set up the volume for hearing footsteps in FPS game? And how to stop the random high pitch? I'm currently have all the setting at 10.
how can i get these to work with my ps3? please include everything i will need to buy to make them work. im loyal to turtle beach and dnt want to have to buy astro's. please help.
I I just got them today! they are very comfort. But I cant get the set up right. Like what number do I put surround on? what number do I put front on? etc... for FPS games? what would be the best setup
@arsenalfabhotmail I recoomend putting the bass on medium and surround, front and center a little bit louder than the sub woofer! Thats what I use on HPA 2 tho I use these days another headset, but yh basically what I said there worked for me with soundwhoring hardcore! Have fun with the HPA2 you wont regret you bought them!
As far as multi-channel headsets are concerned, the HPA2 is actually still one of--if not THE best option on the market. (Especially for the price). We also sell it as the HPX as well (different cabling), which has a very strong following. One thing to keep in mind about the HPA2 is that 3 years ago, it was way ahead of it's time.
about 1 month ago I came on this video and asked some questions about the headset.
this morning I ordered some of these and cant wait! When they arrive I will give you my feed back!
I bought them of gameseek co uk. in the image on their website, it only shows the head set its self. will it come in the box? and with all of the included things in it? Please respond!
im either going to get Ear Force Dx11 or the Ear Force HPA2. one for pc, and one for xbox360. I am wondering which one to get. but im wondering which works for BOTH- AND which is better quality for both. please respond soon! thanks
Hi, used to comment on this video about uncertanties on the product before buying it. Well, I've bought it and love it. Sounds so good, but there is a problem with it that after google searching, I only found one review off of newegg that said they experienced the same problem. For some reason, whenever I am playing a game, sometimes the headset will give off an extremely high frequency sound that is loud and annoying. Only thing to get it to go away is powering off/on the headset.
@tequilaburp From someone using an X-fi card, they said it caused horrible ihhg frequency problems, I had experience the same thing on my card, but I turned off DXDS-3D on my card, so any 3d feature seems to be a porblem with it.
@GamingPrower This should be able to be adjusted properly. Our support team should be able to help you tweak these issues (we are limited by characters here on YouTube)
@TurtleBeachVideos thank you very mutch, i'm a pc gamer and i'm going to buy a alienware M15x so i just wanted to be sure i could use this headset on a laptop.
Hi i have owned the Turtle Beach HPA2's for about 6 months now and all of sudden i seem to get a really high pitched screeching noise within the headset when there are loud noises or explosions. I have to power off the amp and turn it back on to get rid of it for a couple of mins before it returns. I use Windows 7 32 bit and have the headset pluged into a x-fi xtremegamer soundcard.
my headset left ear sound dont work!!!!

@ThePaulg123 There's no difference between those and the regular HPA2s. It was just a branding thing. If you aren't happy with the XPS branding, contact support via email and they'll take care of you.

I just got this on Sunday. Any tips on how to set up the volume for hearing footsteps in FPS game? And how to stop the random high pitch? I'm currently have all the setting at 10.
wh4tthefuk 1 year ago
@wh4tthefuk I would suggest reducing the bass when you want to listen in on silent sounds like footsteps.

how can i get these to work with my ps3? please include everything i will need to buy to make them work. im loyal to turtle beach and dnt want to have to buy astro's. please help.
DeaConzThirst 1 year ago
@DeaConzThirst You would still need a mix amp.
TurtleBeachVideos 1 year ago
@mANZEE1337
No, the USB is only for power. You need a 5.1 sound card to use the HPA2. Most new PC's come with a 5.1 sound card though.
TurtleBeachVideos 1 year ago
just ordered these, cant wait to get them.
kiba2447 1 year ago
I I just got them today! they are very comfort. But I cant get the set up right. Like what number do I put surround on? what number do I put front on? etc... for FPS games? what would be the best setup
arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
@arsenalfabhotmail I recoomend putting the bass on medium and surround, front and center a little bit louder than the sub woofer! Thats what I use on HPA 2 tho I use these days another headset, but yh basically what I said there worked for me with soundwhoring hardcore! Have fun with the HPA2 you wont regret you bought them!
Kalimahala 1 year ago
@Kalimahala
can you tell me the numbers to put them on please?
arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
@arsenalfabhotmail
I use the HPA2 with the front, center and surround on 6, with the subwoofer on 8. Then I just use the master volume for fine-tuning.
TurtleBeachVideos 1 year ago
@TurtleBeachVideos
Ok thank you. I will test them out with that setup,
arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
I just saw this video was released 3 years ago. are these still one of the best pc head sets out there?
arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
@arsenalfabhotmail

@TurtleBeachVideos
Ok thank you. they are due to arrive in 2 days. I cant wait!
arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
about 1 month ago I came on this video and asked some questions about the headset.

arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
@arsenalfabhotmail
If you ordered the HPA2, it will come with everything in the box that you see shown on our website.

@TurtleBeachVideos
ok thanks.
may I ask another question?
What is the difference between 5.1 surround sound and 7.1 surround sound?
are 5.1 surround sound good for gaming in game such as call of duty?
arsenalfabhotmail 1 year ago
@arsenalfabhotmail
5.1 and 7.1 surround sound are very similar, except that 7.1 just has two extra channels for positioning. Not much of a difference really.

im either going to get Ear Force Dx11 or the Ear Force HPA2. one for pc, and one for xbox360. I am wondering which one to get. but im wondering which works for BOTH- AND which is better quality for both. please respond soon! thanks
blucas9000 1 year ago
@blucas9000
The DX11 works on both the XBOX and PC. The HPA2 only works for PC's, and you need a 5.1 sound card too.
Personally, I would go with the DX11 if I were in your shoes.

@TurtleBeachVideos thank you

Does my PC need any certain requirements to use this like a specific kind of soundcard? Or does this work with anything?

@TicklesMcLolz
Yes, you need a 5.1 sound card.

Only thing to get it to go away is powering off/on the headset.

do i get any benefit if i use CMSS-3D or any other x-fi feature with this headset?
tequilaburp 1 year ago
@tequilaburp From someone using an X-fi card, they said it caused horrible ihhg frequency problems, I had experience the same thing on my card, but I turned off DXDS-3D on my card, so any 3d feature seems to be a porblem with it.

@GamingPrower This should be able to be adjusted properly. Our support team should be able to help you tweak these issues (we are limited by characters here on YouTube)

@besteboetje
Yes, all new HPA2's are USB powered. No AC adapters. (Though some people still ask us for the AC-powered version!)
TurtleBeachVideos 1 year ago
@TurtleBeachVideos thank you very mutch, i'm a pc gamer and i'm going to buy a alienware M15x so i just wanted to be sure i could use this headset on a laptop.

What's the difference between the HPX-1 and the HPA2?
RedStarr2121 1 year ago
@RedStarr2121
The actual headphones are the same. These two models just have different connections, that's all.
TurtleBeachVideos 1 year ago
Hi i have owned the Turtle Beach HPA2's for about 6 months now and all of sudden i seem to get a really high pitched screeching noise within the headset when there are loud noises or explosions. I have to power off the amp and turn it back on to get rid of it for a couple of mins before it returns. I use Windows 7 32 bit and have the headset pluged into a x-fi xtremegamer soundcard.
