  • wouldn't it be easier for the machines to harness geothermal energy?

  • It is sad... Just sad.

  • The problem would have been solved with one nuke. Just one. Nuke zero causing wide destruction but also if there were any surviving robots the EMP blast would deactivate them.

  • @secret260

Yeah funny at 3:36 the machines are disabled by EMP artillery but at 4:02 the EMP of a nuke doesnt affect them at all.

BTW how could 01 A SINLGE city OUTPRODUCE whole earth??

Humans cant have automated factories without AI???

  • @Reviewer03 Yeah exactly what I thought.

  • @secret260 Aren't those nukes the humans drop on Zero One at the beginning of Part II? They nuked the shit out of Zero One but nukes were designed to kill humans, not machines.

  • @DiscoverPhilSmith Nukes would destroy all electronics.

Wiki: Electromagnetic_pulse,and your good to go with a lesson on how Nukes fuck up everything. Basically this is a huge plot hole in the story but it's fine because we don't know the details, whether some robots had protection against it or not.

  • the matrix trilogy has made me so distrustful of technology. I know what my toaster is thinking now.

  • The humans needed neo

  • Also operation dark storm was fucking retarded

  • @jrd192797 and they lost because they wasted too much ammo and EMP on small robots instead of saving it for the giant ones.

  • War of the machines fucking rayed triple r

  • the scene beggining from 4:41 to this day remain the most disturbing scene in animation that i've ever seen. Freak me out quite a bit when I was a kid

  • @rivinish yea i know how u feel,when i was a kid,this movie scared the shit out of me @@

  • The machines were too forgiving.

  • Theres a problem with the story that I just got. It says that the machines had nothing to fear from the bombs heat and radiation. That's not true, a nuclear detonation causes an electromagnetic pulse, in essence it would fry any electronics close enough to the blast radius.

  • @Butmunch666 Well it did destroyed many machines, but since they don't require essential necessities like water, oxygen, mild temperature and food, I still say they had many ways to avoid great causalities and are far more adaptive. Like perhaps they can bury themselves deep underground

  • Can someone tell me the name of the instrumental music at the beggining?

  • 4-the machines could have gone to the moon, or other planet and have abundant sun energy, and it's difficult for me to think that they weren't capable of doing this easily. So the story is nice, but is unrealistic.

  • @toni8675 Yeah they can easily build a tower tall enough to get the sunlight from the atmosphere even instead of farming humans. They are probably pissed at humans so they want to eradicate them all.

  • @zen5678 or simply the film's plot is flawed :))

  • this story, however interesting might seem, it is seriously flawed: 1-man could have created some kind of mechanism within the machines to prevent them from revolting, 2-prior to the war, man could have restricted the machines' access to vital resources, like metal, thus preventing them from multiplying 3-after they won the war, the machines could have used far better energy sources than the human body (like geothermal, tidal, wind, hydro... etc), and just eliminate the human species completely.

  • @toni8675 I think it's implied in the story that the machines did not really want to kill humans, their creators. It wasn't their wish to annihilate us so they found a compromise. In a way.

  • that pilot at 2:11 is very kawaii

  • @ActiveStorage that guy is the boss

  • Wouldn't that Nuclear Bomb's EMP destroy all of 01 with just one of them?

  • @julio13wrathchild That's what i thought myself. The story is pretty good ,but full of errors and the biggest of them is is exactly the EMP blasts.

  • This gave me chills...the bad kind.

  • lol nexted time Machines offer you peace.. take it and work together.

  • This is going to happen eventually. We are fucked.

  • The moral of the story is, love your machines, or they'll advance, improve and most thoroughly murder you.

  • And man said, "Let there be light.". And he was blessed by light, heat, magnetism, gravity, and all the energies of the universe.

When mankind has come to such a religion?

  • so sick how they just shoot up before they go into the shit

  • @MrBeauJango Thats pretty realistic; in 1942 when Finland was fighting against Russia, the goverment would give soldiers drugs to forget their hunger and fear. One of the things we arent really proud about.

  • wow its so fucking sick and awesome amsazes me what people can imagine love watching the animatrix ths brings back memories

  • Though this apocalyptic future isn't something anyone would want to endure it's probably going to get to the point for humanity when people simply download their minds into machine bodies and I gotta say that wouldn't be so bad

  • Isaac Asimov

  • @piecharthosen FUCK YEAH

  • Comment removed

  • Is the final song from the original Matrix? It isn't on the Animatrix ost

  • I think Games Workshop needs to take a note on this brilliant movie. Because the battle scene is very "Warhammer 40 000"-like, if you know what I mean. Imagine an animated W40k-movie which looks like that. It would be AWESOME.

  • @Meitti Ig vs Necrons perhaps?

  • @mightee124 the iron men vs the golden men I´d say in warhammer terms... leading to the age of strife

  • @mightee124 yea without a question. these big red glowy flying building the machine used looks like monoliths when you think about it.

which really makes me think how this battle would have ended if it was the space marines fighting the machines...putting exterminatus and orbital bombardment aside.

  • this is NOT how i want to die. fuck robots and shit, i'd rather die by anything but this

  • @theuserutubesux

so you would rather die from being anal raped by a cow and horse at the same time ?

  • @SupernaturalGifts777 yes because i like it up the butt

  • Comment removed

  • What's the creepy song both when they're hooking the people up and when the kid realizes his parents are agents?

  • 7:02 Yeah! Detonate that shit! Kill all these politicians woohooo!!!!

  • @TheAntediluvian1 Actually there are some politicians who are actually out for the people. However politics simply corrupts many of them...

That and the machines actually should of lost due to nuclear weapons, the extreme ionizing radiation (in the form of Gamma Ray and Beta particles) would simply fry most circuits... and we know ways to make nuclear weapons into NUKE PUMPED PARTICLE BEAMS.

  • @TheTrueAdept also the nukes create the mightiest EMP possible.

  • Actually, you can't truly 'nuke proof' anything. You can make them nuke resistant but that's it. Most materials can't withstand the shear overpressure of a nuke going off. Note that the bombs dropped on Japan, Fat Man and Little Boy, are ~ 12 kilotons in power. A modern strategic warhead is measured in double digit MEGATONS, 'tactical' weapons would out do the Fat Man and Little Boy by at least half. Tzar Bomba, the largest nuke ever made, had the pressure wave go to 64 km. That is only the tip.

  • At first, I was like: 3:11

    Then, I was like: 4:50

  • Its problematic. The machines have less to fear not little to fear from the nuclear blast. The H-bombs can be manufactured to maximize EMP yield. The Neutron bomb that was considered in the 1970s, floods the blast radius with high energy neutrons that would be very devistating to electronics.

  • @blindandwatching There isn't enough metal in the world for all these machines in the first place

  • Now why hasn't someone mashed up scenes of this and the Terminator Series? Wouldn't the two go hand and hand?

  • the nuclear bomb wouldnt have worked if the machines shielded themselves ......Electronics can be shielded by wrapping them completely in conductive material such as aluminum foil; however, the effectiveness of the shielding may be less than perfect. Proper shielding is a complex subject due to the large number of variables involved. Semiconductors, especially integrated circuits, are extremely susceptible to the effects of EMP due to the close ave holes no bigger than the smallest wavelength

  • that fairy looking robot at 8:16 who is she suppose to be ???

  • when the pentagon decides to build robots that can withstand a nuclear strike... we need to show them this video....

  • Did they forgot the 3 laws of robotics?

    What a pity...

  • track id 2:55

  • @vndl69 supermoves overseer

  • those r some crazy looking bombers at the beginning it looks like the skeleton of a b-52 like anyone have any info on what kind of bomber that is ?

  • The Machines' victory was inevitable.

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93

    And they deserved this victory.

  • @ThanatosZero

Which side are you on? I would think both races are capable of peaceful co-existence.

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93

I am actually unbiased to both, but the way how the robots were treated made me to feel sorry for them.

It is too bad that no human sided with the machines in the movie. It is a shame, but as Agent Kay once said:

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."

We as the masses can be easly manipulated by media and the goverment. Only a few of us can think outside of the box.

  • Poor Mike Johnson. He was killed near 9 O'Clock.

  • Humanity's greatest mistake was fighting a land war in Asia.

  • YES LETS NUKE THE FUCKING SKY!!!...

  • the nukes should have killed the machines and ended this fiasco from the start a nuclear device wen detonated can destroy most types of metals mankind has on top of that the emp after words fry all electrical powered systems and unless they machines r being powered by vegetable oil i wouldnt matter if they had flesh or not god..... this is a good story but seriously tainted

  • @MrMrDrumline It was stated on the wikia site that the robots already knew the humans would nuke 01. That's why they hid in emp resistant bunkers and ambushing the army send to check the ravage. After operation black storm the robots switched over to nuclear/elektrical energie sources. As for the oil.. Hmm dunno maybe they used blood? xD

  • Wtf happened to starfish prime they should've just used emps and a nuke would've wiped out 01 the radiation is strong enough to corrode metal

  • retarded yes, but a mistake mankind doesnt seem beyond performing. I can see the same shit happening if E.T.'s came from another world to this one (not to say it hasnt already happened) and us fucking human dummies acting hostile towards them. May intellect and respect for all things prevail.

  • that one dude was fucking weird.

  • Yup Nukes would destroy the whole planets xD

the heat and radiation would melt the whole planet to glass

  • That whole war scene spooked me as a kid, and if didn't block out the sun the machines would have no use for us therefore fully driving us to extinction.

  • At first I was like 5:50 but then I 5:45

  • The humans obviously dont know what EMP is.

  • @COBRARocky They did use EMP at 3:36 , but they should have saved it for the larger robots.

  • "May there be mercy on man and machine for their sins."

Amen to that, although I sometimes wonder if we deserve mercy at all.

  • "Wheres our fuckin air support!? Hello? Command?"

  • @Hiraki666357 I'm sorry, all staff are busy handling other customers at the moment. If you'll please leave your name and phone number, we'll get back to you shortly! :D

  • Lt. Gaeta finds his way into yet another robot rebellion.

  • scum bag machines: smart enough to culture humans for energy dumb enough to not clear out the dark cloud.

  • Tebowing @ 1:22

  • is it just me or did they forget about the EMP burst,

  • @Strum2223

They forgot about that, Air Support, Naval Support, Tactics and general intelligence.

  • stop over analyzing the philosophy of the matrix.. there are a lot of unknown factors which make it impossible for you to come to a conclusion - youre all just speculating and wasting your time and killing the enjoyment of the story... stupid fkn art uni student cxnts

  • pretty sure nothing, no matter what material or metal its made out of can withstand a nuclear onslaught like that. plus on top of that, nuclear weapons ignite an EMP that knocks out any and all electronic currents, rendering the robots dead lol.

  • I have no idea why humans would go to war with the robots like this. At least in the "Terminator" series and the newer "Battlestar Galactica" series they got "scared" on their own (the AI) and started it.

In "2001: A Space Odyssey" and Bungie's "Marathon" series, the AI simply sent insane.

In the movie "A.I.", the bots never fought back... and in "I, Robot" (the recent film), they went to war based on a logic flaw.

  • I wonder who set off the nuke at the UN... the robots, or suicidal humans?

  • @roylopear The robot that was holding the apple and saying "We demand it" set off the nuke.

  • has anyone noticed that in the ost album appears a exclusive remix of the song Supermoves and here in the battle between men and machines they use the original version that appears in Need For Speed Underground??

    kind of odd...

  • I dunno, but putting fundamentalist religious aspects in the movie before they went to war shows the foolishness of mankind...

  • thank you so much for uploading this mate

  • 1:54 hahaha! jesus giving a sermon!

  • Am I the only one who sees the flaw that robots aren't actually able to FEEL? At the start of the short, robots were angry with humans because they don't give them praise, but how could they feel that? How were they able to feel the wanting to be real? Are we really able to program something as complicated as feelings??? I don't think so, and if we did, we had to program it in a way that it wouldnt cause errors for the robots, which it obviously would in most situations.

  • @RomeeSayuri

this robots are AI, artificial intelligence therefore if this machines have the ability think independently then this machines to can feel and love but in a much consciousness state than a human emotional state.

  • 6:14 That was GuyMan from Electroma ;_;

  • There's a higher chance we end up like in Idiocracy than this to happen.

  • we are so screwed...

  • name of the music @7:40 and @8:08 please ,and thx

  • My only wish, were Vernor Vinge's technological singularity crap turn out to be true, is that I would be dead and the dust from my bones long gone once the robots take over. 4:41 to 4:51? No thanks, I think I'm all set.

  • The machines arent vulnerable to heat or radiation from the nukes, ok fair enough but what about the EMP

  • Blocking of the sun has to be THE most goddamn retarded idea I've ever heard.

  • @buffer545 yea,why not use emp or take out their leader or even make a aliance to them.

  • @buffer545 Especially since it didn't even disable the machines like it was intended to do XD

  • @buffer545 chemtrails

  • @buffer545

the sun was the machine's energy source.. the humans tough if they cut of the life source of the machines, machines would die but unlike the machines old model, the humans are not aware of the changes in the machines, each time the humans fight machines, the machine army's anatomy change and so are their energy support system.. but thanks for the blockage of the sun, the machine created the matrix so that we are the machine's energy source while the matrix is our world.

  • @buffer545 AMEN...DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY WERE THINKING

  • @buffer545 Right? You would think a standard EMP would do it.

  • @Polusviridisastrum Even robots cant withstand winds of over 1000 miles per hour, and intense neutron flux and 1+ million degree photon flux. Interlocking tactical nuclear carpet bombs could have stopped their advance.

  • @buffer545 humanity does some dumb ass shit in this series. thats part of my problem with anime, even though it is pretty good at times, in almost all of the anime stuff that i see, it polarizes human behavior and emotion. human's aren't quite as quick to jump to violence and ignorance/arrogance in the ways that this show shows them to be, i would like to think we are a bit smarter and wiser than that

  • @drumsnhockey3 Wouldn't say that. The creators made literally tons of allegories, metaphors and biblical references, Zion? Neo and Jesus Christ? The kid and John the Baptist.

  • @jd1060 i agree but i am not sure why your saying this lol...that isnt really relevant to what i said haha, enlighten me on what you were referring to

  • @drumsnhockey3 heh I replied to the wrong comment, sorry.

  • @drumsnhockey3 If you really believe that, I suggest you watch the recent U.S. Republican presidential debates. Might change your mind a little.

  • @buffer545 well, simpsons did it

  • @buffer545 It did make the final battle way more bitchin' though...

  • Comment removed

  • @buffer545 You are absolutely right. Even if the machines were disabled due to lack of solar power, we would lose too. No solar radiation means no photosynthesis, which means no agriculture. Even if 01 was destroyed, every machine was wiped out, and the United Nations banner raised over the piles of broken chassis we would die of starvation within a century. In the Second Renaissance, due to the variety of bad choices, humanity never had a chance.

  • @SapphireCrusader1988

The clouds used in Dark Storm were nanobots, mankind had 'safety switch' do turn it off. It was lost after losing the war.

  • @Sephy7777 Really?! Well that does make some sense. Thank you for clarifying that! I wonder if that would have been the subject of the next Matrix movie, if they hadn't run it into the ground.

  • @Sephy7777 Should have made them metal eating nano bots

  • @buffer545 And yet, apparently it was the best one they came up with. And that is just sad, to be honest.

  • @Nerupe0 It was. It really was.

  • @buffer545 many of the human nations' long-range weapons systems are also disabled by the lack of sunlight and disable their high-tech weapons, and rendered them useless

  • @MultiMellows Then why are they able to use nuclear missiles, but not combat aircraft

  • @ikosabre because nukes dont depend on the sun to be able to explode

  • @MultiMellows Modern combat aircraft don't rely on the sun to fly neather

  • @ikosabre

Yes, but they do rely on the upper atmosphere not being full of nanites that'd clog the fuck out of the engine. Use your brain.

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey They don't need to fly in the upper atmosphere to be effective dickhead. Besides, did it seem to you that the nanite cloud was THAT close to ground in the matrix 3 or the flight of the osiris, that modern combat aircraft wouldn't be able to fly sorties.

  • @ikosabre

Well, obviously you've spotted a glaring and incredibly important error. You should totally write to the director about it, I'm sure they'll be mortified.

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey I doubt they would understand, considering how little sense the second renaissance makes

  • This shit scared me when i was like...11 or 12 lol

  • i dont think humans are that stupid to build something that would be able to destroy us.

  • @mrjeovanni45 The flaw I see in the short is the contempt the humans universally feel for the robots. They subject them to near genocide, then foolishly provoke them when the robots are clearly more powerful. While excellent as a short, the film fails to address the other side of humanity, that which loves animals, sees humanity in everything, and if pressed would side with the robots against the rest of humanity.

  • @cleverandruthless you are right. we wouldnt treat them like that and less in the future when people will be more educated and well mannered(Hope).

  • @mrjeovanni45 Yes, we are clearly heading in that direction /sarcasm.

As our technology advanced we became more lazy and stupid and im talking about the avarage man. There are many well mannered and educated people around today yet the world is still a cesspool, because they are in minority and always will be, for many reasons, one being stupidity and ignorance is promoted via the IdiotBox.

  • @cleverandruthless They would probably have been killed alongside the machines during the pogroms. Mob mentalities, do they suck or what?

  • @mrjeovanni45

    nuclear bombs

unless u meant something that would turn against us personally

  • there will be a point in the future when humans will have to merge with technology

to not be considered "obsolete",its the truth. we can see it today, there was a contact lens that is able to connect you to the internet... now that is the first step to becoming cyborgs, and i dont think becoming a cyborg would be that bad.

  • Thumbs up if you think this nuclear scene is better than terminator 3.

  • Well, fuck sleeping.

  • Look like WORLD WAR 100 Damn it! FTW!

  • MASTER CHIEF FTW

  • Fuck all this. By the time this shit happens we will have the fucking Master Chief and another fucking million Spartan lls. We have THE FUCKING MASTER CHIEF machines. Your move.

  • We can't win, we just can't win, even in the real world. The machine, once sent off the slippery slope, will always be one step ahead of us, and no amount of heroism, valiance, ingenuity or hope will be able to stop the cold, all-efficient and super-intelligent cybernetic organisms. They will be bound to no human rules or values, adhere to no authority other then their own.

They won't even need us for fuel.

Abandon our prejudice and join with the machine, become cyborgs, it's the only way.

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 I think you over look the weaknesses of the machines. Next time your cable box goes on the fritz and you have to have the cable company bring you a new one rather than fix it, think about the the likelihood of machines taking over. The next time you get a Trojan or a virus, think about it. The next time the power goes out for several days, think about whether or not machines will be able to take over.

  • @MegaVolcano The machines became way more complicated than the humans understood. They wouldnt be able to program viruses for them. Im pretty sure the machines could repair themselves too.

  • @C05597641 The more complicated a machine gets the easier it is to throw a wrench in the gears. Nothing is invincible.

  • @MegaVolcano You are right. WW1 tanks are better than modern tanks. You have opened my eyes.

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93

EMP's. They exsist for a reason. (If they had stuck EMPs in the nukes, robots would be fucked)

  • @yappers4 if robots were equally smart as humans, they probably would've developed some type of emp protection.

  • @leoellion

if you notice, in every battle the machines fought, their appearance change, from old human-like metalic bodies to insect-like bodies, so are their defenses since the old version of machines are design to serve man while the newer version are design to be combat efficient machines.. while man's population is decreasing, machines on the other hand increase because of their artificial reproduction.

  • @yappers4 EMP are one of the many reactions of a nuclear explosion

  • @yappers4 nukes create an EMP shock wave upon their strike devastating all electronic systems for miles. Along with radiation that corrodes the most hardened materials and high temperature firestorms that incinerate anything and everything. Seriously, The effects of a nuke would harm the machines just as much as the humans.

  • @sjcobra84 Give me a link to a website that says a nuke creates an EMP shockwave, cuz I think your theory is BS

  • @Ph0be I researched this in wiki and watched documentaries and shit
