The BBFC are actually pretty good MOST of the time, a lot better than the stupid standards of the American equivilent. This is due for a re-release on DVD since they waived all cuts in 2008. The thing that makes NO sense is that the other movies are all intact!

@LukeMM95 Well the BBFC and the MPAA pre-cut the movie so there is no complete version this pre-cut scene is the chain whipping part. So no version in the world has the full chain fight (yet)

ATTENTION PEOPLE!!! I recieved my copy of Die Hard 3 from Belgium which is Region 2 and is UNCUT!! Get the R Belgian version!! Its in English audio and has english subtitles!!

I remember buying the region one 5star collectors edition of Die Hard 3 because I was aware of how heavily the BBFC had cut and re-dubbed the movie. However after waiting many years I eventually purchased the so called re-submitted region 2 dvd of die hard 3 (2 disc) and it's still very much the same. Heavily cut and dubbed. If you want a proper version of this film then it's going to have to be the region one edition.

Go on EBAY and buy the DVDs from Europe. You can obtain a 2 disc version and they do have english language and menus etc...

To all who want to buy this dvd uncut, I recommend looking on ebay or Amazon for the region 2 french or belgian version, I bought the french version and it has all scenes incorperated back into the film, the film plays in English audio and plays on uk dvd players :) Do not buy the American version unless you have an all region dvd player.

@Busher50 Die Hard was originally an 18 but is now a 15, yes, uncut. Die Hard 2 was originally cut for a 15 but the DVD is an uncut 18. Die Hard 3 (WAV) was originally cut for a 15 but is now uncut at that rating. Die Hard 4 has always been an uncut 15.

in america the fcc (federal comunacation commension) cuts the swears out on tv so badly it makes it un wacthable for example using the word "Joked" to replace the f words-"JOKED OFF" in Die hard 2.also the oringinal actor dosent even dub some of them come on

It's really aggravating that the BBFC did this. Every time I see Die Hard With a Venegance on TV or on Sky Movies, I get the full, uncut, sweary-as-fuck version. But on the DVD releases over here - like the 2-disc special edition - the subtitles don't sync properly with what is being said. It just pisses me off that I'm not getting what I paid for - the full unedited dialogue to go with the film. The uncut version flows better too, don't you think? I'd say it definitely does.

@The1979Warriors The movie was resubmitted to the BBFC and passed uncut in 2008. I think the Blu-ray is uncut but i'm not sure if there have been any new DVD releases since then.

You know what? I'm gonna defend the BBFC here. I know, I can't stand how long this film remained mutilated in the UK, but what probably happened was they told Buena Vista, in a non-specific manner, to tone down the language a bit for a 15 certificate, and then the distributor proceeded to rape the film by implementing American network style cuts. The giveaway is removing Jackson shouting "goddamn", a curious quirk of US TV's anti-blasphemy stance but considered very mild swearing in the UK.

This film has sooo many cuts!! Tbh none of it should of been cut. I mean look at pulp fiction compared to this film!! Pulp fiction has like hundreds of F words yet the bbfc decide to cut a few measly lines and a little bit of violence. This film would be so much better with all the scenes put back into the dvd.

Only infrequent strong language is allowed at 12/A. There is over 40 uses of strong language in the edited version of DHWAV, in the uncut version there's nearly 100.

In all fairness to the BBFC, this would have been passed at '18' uncut but the distributor wanted a 15 certificate so cuts were needed. The BBFC these days though are much more liberal so the full uncut version would probably be passed at 15 now
