i heard this first by a friend of mine, he called it his scary song. ^_^ he is normally really sweet and kind, but I got him to sing it for me and he totally changed, it was amazing to me to hear him say "the 'D' word" and god damn. :P his evil voice was great, it totally caught me and my sister off guard. He would do Hyde and octave below Jekyll, it was beautiful, as is this song, gives me chills. Right about 2:58-the end. ♥
i know this would be a little too much so, (^^v) in advance, do you have evan's version of this? i mean, studio version? :3 i liked it a lot as well. :3
He switches back and forth between the two voices so well! If I didn't know the story I would never have guessed that this was performed by one person.
what the hell is with the hating the Hoff? :D Maybe he didn't sing it best, but definitely played it the best of all and his emotions were amazing! I love his version and I watch it very often.
This version is awesome...we used it for a Repo! The Genetic Opera preshow featuring Nathan Wallace and Repo Man, and I've been trying to find it since!
there is no one out there as good as robert cuccioli and linda eder and cristianne noll they were the best I wish they would all do the parts again I'd have loved to see them on stage
in my state there is an all-state show and we're doing this show, and our jekyll is way way better, his name is Seth Jones and our show kicks the ass of all the other broadway productions
@usetheforce207 Over-confident much? These people are professionals. Although I would be interested to see your Jekyll, you shouldn't bash other productions. Its extremely rude.
Wow this is pretty amazing, perhaps not my favourite version but it's really well done and I can hear so clearly who's speaking while usually it's not that easy (for me). Thanks for sharing!
I would have to say this guy is pretty damn close to Warlow's near-perfection on this song. You really get the feeling of a dual personality, unlike a lot of the other singers. You see either a weak, unfleshed Jekyll or a meh Hyde. Cuccioli is strong on both!
@AndrewXavierD Agreed with Hoff being really low, but I'd have to disagree with Warlow/Cuccioli. I feel Cuccioli did the best performance of this song ever. Just a personal opinion, but such an amazing performance
They're definitely both amazing. Rob Evan is fantastic as well. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live as Valjean. What I've heard from Sebastian Bach though was just disgusting.
my highschool is doing this and im playing drums on it and we are putting a metal spin on it and this by far is the best song when it gets epic.. very good version
Cuccioli was the Original lead, with Evan as his alternate. Cuccioli left in January, 1999. The Evan became the lead, with Joseph Mahowald as the alternate. Then Jack Wagner became the lead when Evan left the show completely in Jannuary, 2000. With Mahowald as the alternate still. In June, 2000, Sebastian Bach became the lead with Mahowald as his alternate. Bach left the show in October, 2000, when David Haselhoff became the lead. Evan came back as the alternate with Hasselhoff.
totally agreed. personally i think warhol is a god. however, i don't necessarily agree with the choir part. this song relays such a personal thing that the choir may be a wee bit extraneous. but it makes things interesting to say the least.
my school is doing this musical over the summer! i'm so excited! I'll play the horn part in the pit! it's kind of a community show too, so it'll be a new and awesome experience.
My school is doing a dance in our show to this song. Two girls and two guys, one couple in white/grey and the other couple in black. They're dancing and fighting eachother. I love this song!
Cuccioli is certainly my favorite, but Warlow should be given his due as well. They are both better than the others that have slaughtered the part - the Hoff and Evan to name a few.
evan sang the song well but its just that he went to feat if you look up confrontation on jekyll and hyde ressurection youll see that evan did much better than when he was in the broadway show
Agreed. I didn't really enjoy Evan's part. For instance, some of the parts that should have been sung out weren't. And actually, the Hoff was the first I saw even play the part. And I thought he was good. His acting could have been better, but still. The first person you see you think is the best although I don't think he was the best. The original, which in this case is Robert Cuccioli, is ALWAYS the best. In my opinion. ;)
still like warlow better, but i would prefer this to the hoff. he sounded like he was just talking fast, and not singing the part. it disappointed me, this is supposed to be one of the biggest parts of the movie, where the confronts hyde, to build up to the finale. the hoff screwed it up. i was like NO WAY (T.T)
i love warlow and cuccioli... in my opinion warlow has the better hyde, while i like cuccioli's jeckyll

rob was bob's understudy on broadway.

Warlow never played the role on broadway.
Bob was the original Jekyll and Hyde on broadway and Rob was his alternate.
Then the understudies in this order were Jack Wagner, Sebastian Bach, David Hasselhoff
Warlow only sang in the Original Concept Recording (OCR) CD.
