  • i love warlow and cuccioli... in my opinion warlow has the better hyde, while i like cuccioli's jeckyll

  • Personally, I wanna see how Tim Curry would make the characters.

  • I like Warlow better, he's "acts the song" better, so to say.

  • i heard this first by a friend of mine, he called it his scary song. ^_^ he is normally really sweet and kind, but I got him to sing it for me and he totally changed, it was amazing to me to hear him say "the 'D' word" and god damn. :P his evil voice was great, it totally caught me and my sister off guard. He would do Hyde and octave below Jekyll, it was beautiful, as is this song, gives me chills. Right about 2:58-the end. ♥

  • Warlow > all

  • i know this would be a little too much so, (^^v) in advance, do you have evan's version of this? i mean, studio version? :3 i liked it a lot as well. :3

  • Warlow rules.

  • My order: Cuccioli, Warlow. (:

  • He switches back and forth between the two voices so well! If I didn't know the story I would never have guessed that this was performed by one person.

  • Hoff did the best he could....if only that had been good enough.....

  • This song sent me back to when I was 6. I started sucking my thumb.

  • what the hell is with the hating the Hoff? :D Maybe he didn't sing it best, but definitely played it the best of all and his emotions were amazing! I love his version and I watch it very often.

  • Thanks for playing this version, Hasselhoff butchered the role.

  • This version is awesome...we used it for a Repo! The Genetic Opera preshow featuring Nathan Wallace and Repo Man, and I've been trying to find it since!

  • @CharacterStudio You too? Wow, the more I listen, the better it seems to fit.

  • I want to see the play sooo bad =( I've been to the restaurant xD

  • I love Robert Cuccioli and Anthony Warlow versions... So amazing...

  • HOLY. CRAP. GOOSEBUMPS! Saw this twice live over 10 years ago, fantastic stuff. Too bad later versions sliced it to pieces.

  • there is no one out there as good as robert cuccioli and linda eder and cristianne noll they were the best I wish they would all do the parts again I'd have loved to see them on stage

  • great version but nowhere near as powerful as warlow...

  • Nonono...

    1. Warlow

    2. Cuccioli

    3. Evan

    [Insert better people here. *points*]

10373. Hoff (At least he didn't sound/look like a teenager.)

    10374-99999999998. Everyone else besides Nicholas

    99999999999. Nicholas

  • This is a good song. I really like it.

  • in my state there is an all-state show and we're doing this show, and our jekyll is way way better, his name is Seth Jones and our show kicks the ass of all the other broadway productions

  • @usetheforce207 Over-confident much? These people are professionals. Although I would be interested to see your Jekyll, you shouldn't bash other productions. Its extremely rude.

  • Anders Ekborg is the best Jekyll/Hyde ever!

  • The whispers in the backgrounds are so cool! Cool...but very creepy. Adds to amazingness to the song!!!!

  • @Bookworm246579 They're pretty hard to do :L

it's hard emphasising them but keeping them whisperish at the same time.

we're doing Jekyll and i'm Chorus, i'm not just randomly saying that :D

  • Robert Cuccioli is the best singer ever at this song

  • i got to see robert live in this show oh so long ago. it was awesome

  • The beginning bars of this song also remind me of the song Sympathy, Tenderness,

I love this song!!! I have seen it live twice.

  • there's only one word... wow!!!!

  • Holy crap this is good. Hyde is scaryyy. It doesn't even sound like the same person. o_o

  • Wow this is pretty amazing, perhaps not my favourite version but it's really well done and I can hear so clearly who's speaking while usually it's not that easy (for me). Thanks for sharing!

  • I would have to say this guy is pretty damn close to Warlow's near-perfection on this song. You really get the feeling of a dual personality, unlike a lot of the other singers. You see either a weak, unfleshed Jekyll or a meh Hyde. Cuccioli is strong on both!

Warlow still is the best though.

  • 1.Warlow

    2. Cuccioli

    3. Evans

    10374. Hoff

  • LMAO!

  • HA!

  • Agreeedd

  • LOL!

  • haha awesome!

  • @AndrewXavierD 1232156549873455478991358498 hoff

  • @MrCouples Hoff is as bad at J&H as Nick Jonas is at Marius, now thats a good comparison

  • @AndrewXavierD That seems pretty fair. However, you missed a couple of zeros after Hoff's number.

  • @AndrewXavierD The Hoff is the only one who got Confrontation right.

  • @AndrewXavierD YES! You speak the truth <3

  • Ever seen a german performance? I recommend you to watch ethan freeman. He is brilliant!

  • @AndrewXavierD What about Bach?

  • @AndrewXavierD Pellow is the best J & H in my humble opinion :)

  • @AndrewXavierD wheres wilkinson man?

  • @AndrewXavierD Agreed with Hoff being really low, but I'd have to disagree with Warlow/Cuccioli. I feel Cuccioli did the best performance of this song ever. Just a personal opinion, but such an amazing performance

  • @AndrewXavierD You are correct!

  • I prefer Anthony Warlow.

    Cuccioli is good too though.

  • They're definitely both amazing. Rob Evan is fantastic as well. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live as Valjean. What I've heard from Sebastian Bach though was just disgusting.

  • my highschool is doing this and im playing drums on it and we are putting a metal spin on it and this by far is the best song when it gets epic.. very good version

  • Are you gonna post some vids? I'd love to see a metal edge to this show!

  • Actually, the origional scores of music such as Confrontation and the proluge do have electric guitar and some pretty sweet drums :p

  • I just saw a video with him preforming 'Dangerous Game' and this almost sounds weak by comparison to it.....what happened???

  • i like the David Hasslehaff better because it is much faster and "dun dun dduunn".

  • Hey, where did you get the pics from the Staatz Open air Production in Austria (the first few pics?) :-)

I was astonished to find them here. I played Sir Danvers in this prod. :-)

  • Really? I can send all of the Staatz ones to you if you like. :D

  • wtf? is this like community theatre pics?

  • 1:38 doesnt he look like Tom Hanks...?

  • I just saw Rob live in Copacabana! He was amazing as Rico!

  • wow.........you are the first person I've heard say that........what do you like better about him?

  • Somehow, I missed hearing this version back in the day... Nice. Well done, and the choir "whisper" is a nice touch indeed!

  • actually i thought the choir was kind of annoying lol

  • were warlow and evan his understudies or was it bob then warlaw then rob?

  • rob was bob's understudy on broadway.

  • Warlow never played the role on broadway.

Bob was the original Jekyll and Hyde on broadway and Rob was his alternate.

Then the understudies in this order were Jack Wagner, Sebastian Bach, David Hasselhoff

Warlow only sang in the Original Concept Recording (OCR) CD.

  • Cuccioli was the Original lead, with Evan as his alternate. Cuccioli left in January, 1999. The Evan became the lead, with Joseph Mahowald as the alternate. Then Jack Wagner became the lead when Evan left the show completely in Jannuary, 2000. With Mahowald as the alternate still. In June, 2000, Sebastian Bach became the lead with Mahowald as his alternate. Bach left the show in October, 2000, when David Haselhoff became the lead. Evan came back as the alternate with Hasselhoff.

  • The choir in the background actually makes it awesome . It's almost on par with Warlow's ( no flaming please , I just prefer his version better )

  • totally agreed. personally i think warhol is a god. however, i don't necessarily agree with the choir part. this song relays such a personal thing that the choir may be a wee bit extraneous. but it makes things interesting to say the least.

  • my school is doing this musical over the summer! i'm so excited! I'll play the horn part in the pit! it's kind of a community show too, so it'll be a new and awesome experience.

  • favorite version

  • hmmm would you have "his work and nothing more" from this cast? christianne noll and robert cuccioli are my favorite pair <3

  • I can post his work and nothing more for you if you want, just give me a couple of days and I can have it up.

  • oh really? thank you so much, thats so sweet! :D thank you, thank you! :D

  • I have the video made, can I get your email adress so i can send it to you? youtube is not allowing me to post it.

  • Yeah, they will not let me post anymore songs from this recording. =/ Something to to with copyright.

  • Damn! and I was just getting into it.

  • i love this musical! its amazing!!!! and my marching band is marching music from this show im sooooo excited

  • He will always be my favorite Jekyll :)

  • excellent

  • My school is doing a dance in our show to this song. Two girls and two guys, one couple in white/grey and the other couple in black. They're dancing and fighting eachother. I love this song!

  • again, i think the tempo is too slow, but i guess it gives a different effect

  • I think I like Warlow better. But this guy isnt too bad.

  • Cuccioli is certainly my favorite, but Warlow should be given his due as well. They are both better than the others that have slaughtered the part - the Hoff and Evan to name a few.

  • evan sang the song well but its just that he went to feat if you look up confrontation on jekyll and hyde ressurection youll see that evan did much better than when he was in the broadway show

  • Agreed. I didn't really enjoy Evan's part. For instance, some of the parts that should have been sung out weren't. And actually, the Hoff was the first I saw even play the part. And I thought he was good. His acting could have been better, but still. The first person you see you think is the best although I don't think he was the best. The original, which in this case is Robert Cuccioli, is ALWAYS the best. In my opinion. ;)

  • What an idiotic comment Hoff saved Jekyll a very unpopular musical which due to Hoff is now flourishing

  • which explains why Jekyll and Hyde closed 8 years ago

  • yeah but evan is way better than hoff

  • Comment removed

  • people need to disagree over something. PS3 versus Xbox 360, Marvel versus DC, Star Wars versus Star Trek. Everyone needs to argue

  • By the way, the answers are Wii, MAD Magazine and Doctor Who, respectively.

  • @Silvermoth2 No. They don't.

  • still like warlow better, but i would prefer this to the hoff. he sounded like he was just talking fast, and not singing the part. it disappointed me, this is supposed to be one of the biggest parts of the movie, where the confronts hyde, to build up to the finale. the hoff screwed it up. i was like NO WAY (T.T)

  • or play sorry. >=/

  • teh hoff needed training poor thing was so exhausted he looked like he was gonna faint Dx

  • ah!He is my favourite hide.I love him very much.His voice....oh....

  • This is the best version ever. If you didn't know, you wouldn't guess that its the same guy singing both parts.

  • thats exactly what people say about anthony warlow

  • Well done!

  • <3333

  • are these pics of anthony warlow

  • Don't think so.

  • they can't be, since he never played this live :(

I'd guess they're of Robert Cuccicoili, since it's him singing :D

  • this is awesome how he can switch his voice like that going from the high range to the deep baritone

  • This is a very good version of the song, and I really like Cuccioli, though I'm biased toward Warlow :lol

  • me too

    lol
