Well, clearly, Slimer's role was expanded from sidekick to title-sharing character because the producers wanted to attract a younger demographic.

To a children's show. That children were already watching. So what I'm saying is, no, it doesn't make any sense.

Slimer's bigger involvement in the cartoon ruined it. Ghostbusters were cool because they had to throw the trap and stomp on it. (like a heroic scene) With slimer doing it, it's just not cool anymore. It's like the ghostbusters are unable to do it on their own. I agree with ZyxthePest. Extreme was definitely better than this as stated by him. It was probably disliked because the original team was replaced.

People hate Extreme more than THIS? Come on now.

While I can sympathize with some of the less than pleasurable choices Extreme made, which there aren't a lot of in my opinion, at least it never put Slimer at the forefront of the series.

Still not convinced that Extreme had more integrity? I've got two words for you.

Here in the Philippines back in 80's. They aired only 1 hour on

ABS CBN 2. It's right after TV PATROL. They aired

every Friday at 7pm. Then it be came number 1

here in the Philippines. Many people are watching

the real Ghostbusters every Friday at 7pm. I am remember

when i was in school. We kept talking about Ghostbusters

tonight at 7pm :-D and we kept repeating the movie

over and over again on the Beta max :-D Until the Ninja

turtles was aired in the Philippines back in 1989

But when i saw the promo. The kids said GOOD BYE Ghostbusters.

And i am so sad this could be the final season according to the

show when they aired in the states. But back in 1992. They were

repeated again but previous episodes of the THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS.

Now today is 2011. i wish Ghostbusters 3 will be

make it for their project and filming someday. I hope

I was wondering, does anyone know if there are any companies that are selling videos of these "Slimer And The Real Ghostbusters" shows? I tried finding on Amazon but, I couldn't find anything. (All I could find was "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon videos). This was a great show and I would love to watch them again if there are any videos around.

Why did they try to make slimer cute by giving him that silly voice? And why was Slimer scared of the other ghosts, he's one of them!

He's only scared of the bad ghosts since the bad ghosts know he's a good ghost. (Some of the cartoon episodes have some of the bad ghosts trying to catch or kill Slimer).

Yes that's true. I didn't actually mean to use the word "kill." Most of Slimer's enemies try to capture him or do bad things to him. For example, one of Slimer's enemies named Professor Dweeb seen from 0:16-0:21 tries to zap, trap, and put Slimer in the containment unit to try to prove that he's a better Ghostbuster than the other four. Even the orange cat named Manx seen from 0:26-0:30 causes Slimer trouble. There are even two monsters who want to catch Slimer but, I don't know their names

I couldn't find information on Sam Hein, and I don't remember that character. Another two of Slimer's enemies (along with Professor Dweeb and Manx) are Mrs. Stone (people call her Stoneface because of her being cranky and never smiling) and Bruiser the dog. I found the name of the other two monsters who try to catch Slimer. Their names are Goolem and Scareface and plus, there is another monster named Zugg who is Slimer's enemy too.

why did the show become more about slimer? the GB's look like they are just guest stars. i like slimer but they really overdid him by this time.

I think the reason they were focusing mostly on Slimer here and not "The Ghostbusters" is because, since on "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon episodes, Slimer is a good ghost who is friends with the Ghostbusters and Slimer helps the Ghostbusters to try to catch the bad ghost which makes Slimer a Ghostbuster too. Unfortunately on "The Real Ghostbusters" they mostly focus on the Ghostbusters and not Slimer so the directors and producers probably wanted to give Slimer a chance to be focused on.
