iWork 06 Pages from Apple

I have Pages '06 trial and when I bought it just now and put in the serial number and it didn't accept it can anyone help?

that's all great but will Pages just offer me a blank sheet of paper like Word does?! i'm in school right now and if i wrote a report with a picture of a guy surfing it would look stupid. i want a mac, and i want i works, but will it just offer me a plain sheet of paper to write a essay on? nothing fancy

Yes. You can choose between a fancy layout or a simple blank page.

If pages can export as a Word file can it also read word files? That would make it 100 percent perfect...

yes, the major selling point of it is it can read and export word files, the import usually works very well (except when there are advance formatting of the document)

What do you mean? Should'nt it just import word documents seamlessly? What are do you mean by advance formatting of the document?

so far ihavnt encounter any problems when importing, but that what i have heard from others.

Do you have to do anything funky for it to open word docs or does it just recognize them automatically?

I use Star Office, Open Office and iWork to open word documents.
