Me and my brother have just bought a PS3 only to play with Heavy Rain. We've just passed this intro scene, and I can tell you, that it looks amazingly beautiful in the "reality"! This youtube version doesn't even come close. It has creeped me out, in a good way... I've never seen such beautiful graphics in a video game so far. Also the music, the characters, the story, everything is insanely good. Everyone must try this game!!!

Anyone who is watching/reading this that hasn't played heavy rain:GO BUY IT NOW. its only like 20 bucks now. It will be worth every penny. This game is so; thrilling, depressing(extremely) Action packed, scary, heart racing, suspenseful, amazing, sad, and one crazy ride. once you've beat the game, do not dare trade it it. soon enough, you will want to play through it again. every single little choice you make in the game can change the ending. i think there about 18-20 diff endings. its amazing.
@ryann45 I agree with everything you said except the whole "every little choice you make changes the ending". That couldn't be further from the truth. There are SO many decisions you make but there are only a handful of them that actual affect the ending or even the story at all. What effect does donating 5 dollars have? What effect does guessing the wrong description of your son have? What effect does being friendly towards Blake have? Or arresting/killing madjack? Nothing.
@Cshizzle94 well you know what i mean..damn man didnt know that would piss you off. im just saying that for people watching this so they would be influenced to buy it. and there is an ending that Blake has a good part of if you make some other choices with jayden.

In my Orkut profile, I saw in Heavy Rain's page that most players are adults, few players were teenagers, and these were not typical teenagers that only enjoy shooting, the way most of them talked was different. I'm really glad to see there's a game for serious people that enjoy drama, to keep feet on the floor, to be realistic even in the game world.
I'm not saying who plays Mario or shooters is childish, but that who play Heavy Rain are not typical players, they seem more serious.
None of PS3 exclusive games was interesting enough to make me want to buy a PS3. ONLY Heavy Rain. If I could have only this game, I'd still buy my PS3. I still don't have them, but I saw a walkthrough and all endings. I tried to wait for the day I could buy the console, but no matter how much I tried to avoid, the cursed spoilers were appearing one by one and forced to watch once for all. But even knowing most parts of the game, I still want it like I never knew the end.
The most beautiful, emotional, interesting, interactive, involving game I've ever seen in my life. I didn't expect to see a drama game. I love drama movies, they make me think about real life, keep my feet on the floor. I'm so glad to see this category in a game... This is art.
@FordGT8806 I think exactly like you, IF there be a sequel, it should be this way, rainy days with other characters and another mystery, but as dramatic as the first.
i love how they put certain parts in the intro. Like the park where Shaun gets taken and the crime scene where another victim is found. Did anyone else notice at 1:09 that the old woman is Scott's mom? This game is amazing and i hope everyone with a PS3 has a chance to play it.

is it me or is this the first ever game to implement perfect reality simulation within heavily defined realistic environments and water dynamics?...yeah...i thought so. I'm sure the xbox could snag the looks too, just look at assassin's creed. Buuuuut...PS3 is my choice for something like this.
can anyone please tell me what city this game is based in? some say Philadelphia, some say Seattle and some even say New York City, does anyone know for sure?
@williammacdave it is supposed to be based somewhere in Pennsylvania. You will notice that at one point Norman Jayden follows Mad Jack to Philadelphia. Also, pay close attention to the cars in the game; all of them have Pennsylvania license plates.
It only just occured to me all the people looking at the camera are actual characters lol. Cept the little black kid, @ 1:43 - I think hes just runnin around the park.
This game makes me sad (obviously), but it makes me sad because I have no idea how they could make a successful sequel. With multiple endings, a pretty satisfying ending (except for that one plot hole) and it might not be as good because movie sequels never are. Maybe we can hope they make a movie with character cameos in the same universe, but a different story.

The best graphics,music and gameplay....The game of the year if i can say :') But...wait a minute ! Anybody saw that glitch at 1:33 ? The birds are stopped moving on the sky ?! O.O
When I played this for the first time, I got so hooked.
I wasnt the only one too, my sister, brother, and even my uncle was watching it.
It was so sad, and suspenseful, there were times when I thought the character would die, it gave me a small heart attack. This was one of the few times I was this hooked to a game, and trust me I usually find the newer games boring after a month or so.
@Patthenyo It's for the ps3 exclusively. Most likely because some of the actions in the game need the player to shake the motion sensitive controller.
@tacosmell1000 they're not supposed to. Technically, you shouldn't compare them due to their difference in genre. Keeping comparisons are most accurate within the same category =/ But yeah, it was a great game and i would give anything to trade my xbox in for a ps3 for a day or two just to play this. mostly for the thrill

I was just trying to say that most video games in general can't connect people emotionally as this game did, those two games were just an example. And it's funny how when other people play this, what different outcomes come out of it, and you are definitely off your seat, shouting at your character to RUN!!
@tacosmell1000 omg dude, i know. This is the one and only game that made me feel the player WAS the character (regardless of the 3rd person view) and that the scenario was a reality. It felt like a movie. It drew out emotions from me that i never knew existed. I adored the game overall. i'm not trying to sound feminine or anything, i'm just stating the direct truth of it all. I hate to say it but i'd get rid of my call of duties (maybe even my whole collection of games) any day for this. =)

Like i love zombie games, but i think more choices options should happen like survival horror with moral choices kinda like this game. And i like customization shooting rpg's, Like the new game brink coming out soon. Also LOVE fallout 3.

Just realised - some of the characters that appear in the first minute (in the close ups as they're standing still in the rain) actually appear later in the game.
@momcilosavic They did, it's called Indigo Prophecy (aka Fahrenheit), j/k but you should check it out it's only like 7.50 on D2D. I'm pretty sure they were going to make Heavy Rain for PC but decided to just stick to the PS3 mainly because the demographic would be easier to distribute to. There's not that many people with high end PC's. That and they also were planning on incorporating PS-Move in Heavy Rain. I haven't been on my PS3 in ages so I don't know if they patched that in yet.

A sequel wouldn't be wise considering the fact that the game ended differently for everybody. Unless they make a completely different storyline.

It’s a response to a moment of your life and what you want to express. There are so many great stories to tell. That’s why just doing sequels of sequels of sequels doesn’t make any sense"

This whole game is so emotional and intense,,,
The scary thing about it, is that it probaly could be based on a true story
and some of the characters like that Doctor guy and the mexican dude are just plain creepy..*shivers*
Love this game, and I'm so glad that it is only available for PS3 :)

When I played this for the first time, I got so hooked.
I wasnt the only one too, my sister, brother, and even my uncle was watching it.
It was so sad, and suspenseful, there were times when I thought the character would die, it gave me a small heart attack. This was one of the few times I was this hooked to a game, and trust me I usually find the newer games boring after a month or so.

My step mom and dad came home from work and i was playing this from the beginning. They watched the whole seven hours or so of me playing!
Games like MW2 and Halo can't connect people like Heavy Rain can.

@Patthenyo It's for the ps3 exclusively. Most likely because some of the actions in the game need the player to shake the motion sensitive controller.

@tacosmell1000 they're not supposed to. Technically, you shouldn't compare them due to their difference in genre. Keeping comparisons are most accurate within the same category =/ But yeah, it was a great game and i would give anything to trade my xbox in for a ps3 for a day or two just to play this. mostly for the thrill

@BlackHawkGaming True, true. I like MW2 personally, I play it every weekend! I was just trying to say that most video games in general can't connect people emotionally as this game did, those two games were just an example. And it's funny how when other people play this, what different outcomes come out of it, and you are definitely off your seat, shouting at your character to RUN!!

@tacosmell1000 omg dude, i know. This is the one and only game that made me feel the player WAS the character (regardless of the 3rd person view) and that the scenario was a reality. It felt like a movie. It drew out emotions from me that i never knew existed. I adored the game overall. i'm not trying to sound feminine or anything, i'm just stating the direct truth of it all. I hate to say it but i'd get rid of my call of duties (maybe even my whole collection of games) any day for this. =)

Like i love zombie games, but i think more choices options should happen like survival horror with moral choices kinda like this game. And i like customization shooting rpg's, Like the new game brink coming out soon. Also LOVE fallout 3.

Just realised - some of the characters that appear in the first minute (in the close ups as they're standing still in the rain) actually appear later in the game.

@momcilosavic They did, it's called Indigo Prophecy (aka Fahrenheit), j/k but you should check it out it's only like 7.50 on D2D. I'm pretty sure they were going to make Heavy Rain for PC but decided to just stick to the PS3 mainly because the demographic would be easier to distribute to. There's not that many people with high end PC's. That and they also were planning on incorporating PS-Move in Heavy Rain. I haven't been on my PS3 in ages so I don't know if they patched that in yet.

@darK3horizoNRising just so u no, there has been an update for ps move on heavy rain :) but if you dont have ps move you have to change the settings back to normal again :(
