  • Awesome video.

Sorry if this is a trade secret, but does anyone know how he heat treats his 9260? I'm not a smith, I'm just very interested in metallurgy.

  • What is the average speed of a standard katana?

  • white man likes to play with samurai swords

  • @actualasian he may not be able to fight like a samuri, but at least he can die like one ;)

  • shit my dick can do all that

  • how would compare these swords to hanwei's brand because i'm more used to their stuff but cheness is cheaper and the quality seems just as good.

  • the best part i s when dude put the sword in a wood at the end truly nibja style looking :)

    lol

  • your pants is not the way of the warrior

  • Some of you guys are retarded. This is a video to demonstrate the 9260 steel's durability. Deal with your self esteem issues so you won't feel the need to lash out and criticize others.

  • I want that sword

  • Nice shoes.

  • can you tell me if swords.com is a good website to buy swords

  • япана,бля-катана,нах

  • it has a nice ring when choping wood.

  • Im guessing you used your Katana to cut down the wood that you used for this Video?

  • You treat your katana like shit but you make one hell of a pruner

  • screw axes i am buyin a katana to cut my fire wood :D

  • Now I got it folks !!!!

Hattori Hanzo from "Kill Bill" used a 9260 core wrapped in L6 Bainite! ;)))))

That's the only real life alternative to create a sword which comes close to all the "anime super katanas"

Due to its high silicon content (2%) 9260 can not be forged or welded in the traditional way, so Hattori Hanzo has to be a ingenious metallurgist who found a way to weld 9260 and L6 together without a flaw.

    European steel forever!!!

    LOLZ

  • the way that japanese use thier katana is different than how western people use it ^^.... u just like to cut anything that is hard do ya. lol.. how about shoot it with machine gun ^^ maybe is will satisfy u ^^

  • imagine if this guy caught you trying to destroy his letterbox on a Saturday night, i bet you he prays for that shit to happen, & on some nights will even attach plastic toys or matchbox cars by little pieces of string just to entice the little beggars to get close enough then, SAMURAI CHOP !

  • @elliotoblio I know I would! xD

  • Damn, Talk about cutting down tree's with style eh? hehe ;)

  • yeah thats the way i do my pruning also, seriously, i walk around the yard with my sword & what ever needs a prune i have a chop, one of the most satisfying part of the weekend.

  • This is disresctful to the sword maker. Each sword has a soul, and to disrespect this sword in this manner is a clear indication of how ignorant the people are with such magical toys.

  • @briankofke

You can't be serious, your speaking so highly of katana yet you call it a toy, this has to be a joke.

  • does the tenchi ko katana have the same flexibility?

  • nice Katana

  • what sword was that in the end splitting the wood in half? sgc?

  • @Okarkar

hmm, I think I just watched the video of it, I'm not 100% sure on the name but I think it was the Bujinkan Oniyuri, and I know Cheness Cuttlery sells them and they are 9260 spring steel katana's so I think its right.

  • @Okarkar

    Cheness Cutlery Oniyuri Bujinkan Sword

  • for anyone who can answer, Do you recommend this, tenchi or the new hanwei new alloy steel thingy?

I am 6.1 so i am guessing the weight is not a problem... the cutting here left my jaw wide open i have to say...but i was wondering if the tenchi or the new hanwei is capable of such cutting? i like the size of the tench more tho and the hamon on the new high alloy hanwei tho i dont know if they are up to the hype..thats one scary sword hehe

  • @Okarkar oh by "this" i meant SGC katana i thought this was only sgc vid just found out its not :P

  • They waited until the terrorist government hit squad ran out of ammo, and then, with the perfection of gods, eviscerated every slave of corruption one by one, with mercy, grace, honor, and the ultimate intent, fighting as true warriors for the new world, where no living being is exploited in any way, only constructive efforts are rewarded, and a positive future as well as limitless evolution for the children of the stars is all that remains.

  • 0:37 ...now try that with a japanese katana. ;P *GASP horror!*

  • KATANA NO FUMENBOKU !!!

  • at 1:30 he goes from wearing shoes to sandals!? Why?

  • holy shyt that amazing, i wish i could get a real katana, i love asian culture

  • @xsnowxdemonx wait so it was?

  • @xsnowxdemonx lmao was it a brick?

  • A cheap sword

The genuine article does not turn

  • que ganas de desafilarla contra metales

  • SOCKS AND SANDLES GUY! U ROCK!

  • I fuckin love that sword!!!

  • thats not 3 inches it bout 2 inches if your lucky

  • is that the name of the song?

  • That is the most bad ass sword i have ever seen...

  • techno music? 0:07

  • My hero.

  • is this guys job just to try to break swords?

  • he runs a web site that sells them....

  • Yes.

  • Killer ^^

  • wear is this katana made??? Japan?? China??

  • ซื้อดาบซามูไร มาตัดต้นไม้หรือไงวะ

  • how heavy is this sword? is it one of the lighter ones or a heavier one

  • is the Tenchi a good buy for its price and can u change out its handle. i want my first buy to be a good one

  • i love the prodigy track. brings back memories :)

  • a po tu ere jardinero eh?? maricon la catana no se usan pa esa mielda

  • where from you have so sharp katana:O I also wants so cool film 5/5 great

  • yo estoy convensido que la katana es la mejor arma marcial que existe

  • F*** Al Gore... he wants a tax on the air we breathe and he's into Eugenics.

But I agree that we should not cut trees (bad for the sword anyway).

For tameshigiri we could use Al Gore instead.

  • Haha

Add Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to that also!

  • @BraunDivan the entire American system is run on Eugenics, dumb dumb. Look at psychiatry. They're not only suppressing the human spirit, and trying to keep our true conscious abilities and "third eye" so to speak within their control, they're also poisoning us with the toxic chemicals that give them this ability. The entire United States system is a fraud, the ignorant low IQ slaves have no clue what's going on, and the future of this world depends on our evolution as a species. 100% truth.

  • @corruptiongovernment *clapping in background*

  • @corruptiongovernment dude have you even STUDIED psychology? as a person who actually did, as well as molecular biology and sociology, your claim is illogical. I agree that media blackouts and such needs to be fixed, but to look at the system in such a black vs white mindset is foolish.

  • @corruptiongovernment I live in the U.S. and I approve of this...

  • @BraunDivan Don't say such foolish things about good people, when you clearly aren't intelligent enough to understand why eugenics are a positive thing.

  • @NeroNekoHeart You sir, are a fucktard.

  • @Breathor The opinion of lesser people is irrelevant to me.

  • @Breathor strong counter to "your an unsophisticated idiot" "ya well your a fucktard" haha

  • @TownPiligan14 Got the point across i think.

  • Para podar va de puta madre xD

  • im really surprised that spring steel was able to hold up to all of that. ive been thinking about getting this specific sword but i was to concerned about it's ability to hold up against whatever i might use it for, so im really glad that you posted this vid. great job.

quick question, how did it do for thrusting?

  • If it's durability you're worried about I believe spring steel is actually superior to most other materials.

  • is spring steel bad or just not that good

  • it's...different. with most weapons your expecting something more solid then you, while spring steel is the exact opposite. it feels and handles differently but it apparently gets the job done better then most other katanas.

  • i love how after the first part of the video he decides to dress like Duncan MCloud. lol

  • Guess what twat.. It's his sword or at least one he was provided with, he can do what he wants with it.. Fuck, you probably can't even afford it, but don't worry if you beg real hard mommy might take you to Mc D's tonight..

  • Oh yeah, well I'll.. I'll.. um nuttin really.. It's not like I actually know shit about swords. Honestly though your post calling someone a fat twat don't really shriek mature now does it? You win though. I usually try not to be too much of an ass on the net, not like you can take a swing at me online..

    I still think you're a twatwaffle though.

  • I typed up some crap about your profile failing just as hard, but then realized I was putting in far too much effort for you..

I'll sum things up as you're still a twatwaffle.. (and yes, I like that word.. dunno why)

  • hahahaha, twatwaffle.....classic haha

  • @sniperp3 twatwaffle...you are to funny XD!!!

  • How else are you supposed to test a sword? It's just a piece of metal.

  • On cutting mats not anything you can get your hands on.saying that these are fairly cheap katanas. Its not like most people on here know anything about japanese war arms.

  • Cutting mats doesn't really pressure test anything. Sure these are produced in volume using modern materials and techniques, they are however decent enough swords for Iai and tameshigiri. You're Koto period Katana is probably no greater as a sword, it's just older.

  • Your right but tameshigiri has been used for years not just on mats but human bodys and cuttings mats soaked in water with bamboo through them.yes my sword would not be any better now but it was only polished in the last 30 years and used in ww2 it was my great grandfathers oh and its still in shin gunto mounts . il try get some videos up.

  • Actually, it's likely inferior as far as the straight durability of the blade is concerned. A lot of the issues with ancient weapons can be placed down to inferior metallurgy.

Your Koto period katana was differentially hardened, so the disparity of the stiffness between the edge and spine will certainly make it weaker.

  • @Apolloin

and remembering these ancient swords would get the job done, imagine what these kinds of modern steel would do! Are you saying through hardened is better than differentially hardened? As far as I know anything of steel-differences, DifHardening would absorb impact a lot easier. If its not so, DiifHardening would make no sense.

  • As I understand it, Differential hardening is all about the balance between hardness and strength. As things get harder they keep an edge better, but they also become more brittle.

Differentially hardening the blade so that the edge is harder and the spine is softer means that the sword keeps an edge but also absorbs impact without shattering.

Unfortunately, it means that the two areas of the blade bend at different rates - as you can imagine that promotes a physical seperation of the two bits

  • @Apolloin

that sword is made of 9260 a silicon alloy which has a significantly increased fatigue resistance. Original katanas are made by folding the metal thousands of times and some have a softer metal core. these swords have lasted a very long time still having there "bits" together

  • Katanas were not folded "thousands of times," typically they were folded 10 to 15 times, which would create a few thousand layers within the sword,(like damascus) the reason for this is is japanese iron ore was actually of very poor quality and by folding it, you remove most of the impurities, but with superior modern steel this is no longer a problem, in fact folded blades are a bit risky, since since doing so can create air pockets, and spread impurities disproportionately, ruining the grain.

  • he does it on purpose, to test them, all the while knowing he's going to bust it up good. thats why he makes these videos in the first place rofl, to test their durability and show everyone how much they can take before they get owned. the 9260 spring steel cheness tenchi katana can stand up to just about anything though, and hes proved it in his video.

  • At 0:40 did some1 test the sword on his jeans lmao!!!!

  • out of which one kills you the faster a gun vs european sword thrust vs a katana slash which one is the deadliest

  • I like the metal square pole demonstration! Strong sword !

  • yea who needs a $20 axe when you have a $1500 katana :-s

  • that would be a great camping tool

  • 1:18 - Nice for cutting wood for camp fire!

  • If you knew how to do a proper slash this video would be alot better, instead all I see is you beat your meat with a Katana. That is a insult to real swordsman.

  • this is a vid about how good the sword is and how much damige it can take if ur upset buy one and make ur own vid but this vid is for showing it off not the skill the sword

  • Although he could use a little practice perfecting his slashes, the point of this video was to show the strength of his sword, not to show how good he is.

  • the guy is crazy :D

  • love ya vids

you've convinced me to buy the cheness tenchi somewhen in the next 2 to 10 years (seeing as how im under 18)

i gotta admit, the ending was badass

  • have someone buy it for you :P

  • did the blade show any damage after u cut the 3 inch branches and also when u were splitting the wood. I could understand if u had some minor damage htiting the metal pole.

  • nos e mucho sobre katanas pero mas o menos cuanto cuesta una ???' y donde se consiguen???

  • Pretty sweet, that would be awesome to see some guy pruning his trees in a kimono like that :P

  • ur so bad ass cutting wood

  • It is called testing the swords limits. Idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • ja q gordo boludo

  • LOL you fat ass

  • LOL you predjutice fucking asshole

  • Sorry you fat aswell, and I was talking about him so FOAD

  • LOL!! wow ur so funny u should be a comedian

  • Does the bo-hi produce enough noise to indicate balance for the Oniyuri?

  • who neds an axe when you got a Katana

  • wha the fukkkk you do with the katana! :-) but not bad strong

  • WoW!! Surprisingly strong...

And I thought that spring steels can easily change its shape...

  • quanto è ridicolo da 1 a 10?

la Katana è quello che è,ma lui..

  • respect man ;)

  • this is a beautiful blade O__o very strong.

Im gunna have to get me one once i got the cash.

    very durable.

  • fat bastard

  • that looks fun!

  • how much is it /

  • ...is he wearing socks with sandals around the end of the vid?

  • Leather Jacket, socks with sandals, sunglasses and katana .... AWESOME

  • oohhh lordy...he must've felt so awesome walking away at the very end. you can almost see him smirking

  • PObre IMBECIL, no tiene algo más productivo q hacer q ponerse a jugar con espaditas

  • wot a duech

  • L2spell b4 trying to bash people online.

    Kthnxbye.

  • now with the new and improved katanana cut the hedges will be a breeze XD (LOL katanana)

  • Hey jackasses, this is a DEMOSTRATION of katanas that he can SELL he will NOT make a fucking SAMURAI training to make a comercial.. geez.

  • you are a massive wanker!

  • I have a question,how strong is a sword blade if it's "mono" tempered?

  • If those pine branches are three inches thick, then my dick is friggin' eeee-normous.

  • im sold. i just have to buy one now.

  • u're using this sword like retard man..

    learn something about Kendo

and then use this lethal weapon

    until u kill u'r self finaly 0/5

  • kendo is a pointless sport

i learned more on my own

  • this man tests cutlery for a living all kinds, hes not a wannabe samurai

GO PLAY WITH YOUR TINKER TOYS!

  • WOW um its a video of Destructive TTEEESSSTTSSS not a samurai video. Hes showing the durability and cutability of the fuckin blade not a samurai video.

Hes swinging at a metal pole to show the blade can last a full force huit, hes cutting wood to show how well it cuts, hes Bending it to show its felexibility honestly man all i have to say is READ the description

    DESTRUCTIVE TESTS

    NOT

    KENDO VIDEO

  • For everyone who is concerned about the sword, go on the website, this guy does destructive tests to measure the sharpness and endurance of many cheness katanas, as well as a large range of other swords.

  • And this retards point is what??

  • Hi man! it's fucking awesome, where u learned to use the katana like that? where i can buy one?

  • 0/5 sword qwality dont buy from them

  • For your own safety (and your sharp piece of metal) try not to have a metal on metal impact........

  • the same at 1.21 !!!

  • some day... you will hurt your self really, really bad !!! 1.11

  • You guys are idiots, he's a tester for swordbuyersguide website, so, that isnt his personal blade just one he's testing to see if it's of enough quality for sell

  • so its just hitting shit with a sword........which makes the sword blunt in the end for no real reason..........

  • No you can't. A 10$ blade will get dull quickly, and in the bend test it will not spring back. You simply can't compare cheap blades to this kind of steel

  • pero que pelotudo... ¬_¬'

  • learn how to handle it but good sword

  • HAHAHAHAH ancient serbian sword have 18 kg very heavy and better than japanese.

  • 18kg....u know how much is tht?......Cuz a sword like tht wud be as effective as u carrying a 50Cal handed....by the time u were aiming at the dude, ud be dead..

  • What a suprise. The guy doing the sword demonstration is an overweight and old guy. Seems like the average sword/knife enthusiast.

  • you should definitely join an iaido dojo in your area, you'd get so much tameshigiri time in, always testing swords as you do.

  • i just ordered me a blue one i hope its as awesome as you show it to be

  • If I ever become a lumberjack, I'll be sure to buy a few. xP

  • I bought one of them.

And I'm looking forward to make similar tests when it has arrived.

  • he does a proppa pose aswell with every cut

  • beautifally crafted! =)

  • there isn't any bambo in the mats? Thats not a good test of its cutting ability if you don't have that in there.

  • He's a professional...I don't think he cares:)

  • not needed in this case. Since it wasn't a regular tatami omoto roll it was a goza roll. this being 2 or 3 mats rolled together instead of 1 around a bamboocore. But even if it had bamboo these cheness blades would probably go through it if the aim is straight

  • nah, shouldn't be that bad. its made of spring steel lol, look it up, that stuff is really something..

  • Alucinas por las esquinas con las vecinas.
