  • this version is better

    watch?v=0ooF27ABwmg

it's still stretched, but the other way.

  • Bloody brilliance!

  • i guess the only question left is... WHY?????

  • @dennisfuentesoc If you have to ask why, you just don't get it! : )

  • I love Deborah and her deadpan style. All their records were great and it is a shame they didn't have more hits. I loved her singing 'Walk On By' - on the Richard X album. Please check it out if you like this.

  • now i feel like spraying an uzi at a pic of Reagan

  • I want money too!

  • ku ku ku what???

  • very nice video

  • NOT Live... just lipstynking. Disappointment in that.

  • Terribly bored, and gets zero for performance. Wow...like she really doesn't want to be there. So strange. Ah one hit wonder is well deserved.

  • @sweetleybailey you obviously didnt get it.

  • deborah is the 70s uffie

  • local jobs today careerstartlocation.info take a look

  • meh.

  • im 16 and i think her voice is banging

  • @Thisisloco1 Why declare that you're 16? Its has nothing to do with anything you imbecile.

  • @snipski0894 of course it does lol. each generations outlook on music varies

  • I LOVE SOULWAX SO MUCH

  • live.... doubt it

    but still a great version.

  • Utterly superb One of the best records ever

  • i can see the rod up her arse from here

  • Steve Beresford on KB?

  • watched empire records.. heard da song and booyah! here i am

  • 57 people have taste in music

  • @sergen292 i agreee with you

  • Just reminds me "lord of war", great film.

  • always thought this was The Flying Lizards FEAT. Yoko Ono. lol. Awesome !

  • It is good to view this for historical value, but I remember when it was all over the radio, 1979. Finally, the station KFRC banned it, and promised listeners to never play it again!

  • Classic - the original is great and this version is wonderfully perverse.

  • The singer`s voice and style are indeed extraordinarily sexy.In an S&M way.Good drum work on this song. But the singer`s presence and voice carry this song and make it quite memorable. The song would be particularly effective as an accompaniment to a video about an older man and a beautiful young woman in a mildly S&M relationship.

  • her voice just make me want to set someone on fire!

  • she shows like no emotion . ahahaha

i always thought some chinese lady was singing this .

  • it's kind of like a twinkie... you know you shouldn't eat it but it has a very strange yet appealing taste... these folks aren't even TRYING to look like they're lipsynching, which is i guess why this is so strangely appealing...

  • ja endlich gefunden :-)

  • gotta love how she can sing with no emotion on her face, while everything around her is silly

  • Money - that what I want, that's what I want. That's what I want.

  • My favorite Christmas song, fits the season perfectly.

  • This is the best version ever!

  • great to hear this again, i remember when i first heard it, ithought it sacriligious to the beatles, but it grew on me, and i ended up listening to the flying lizards, the girl talking is briliant.

  • i lold

  • lalabored16...a backbeat with her speaking? if you listen carefully its a very catchy beat with loads of elements and it's a great song..not saying it's the best song ever made but why don't you go listen to The Killers or Scouting for Girls in your bedroom

  • proof that any song can make the charts. its her speaking with a backbeat.

  • she's so awkwardly sexy

  • I wanna see them cover of Curtis "Move On Up" !!

  • kakkoiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • wack

  • What great back up singers ! How about that guitar player doing like Hendrix, using his teeth. What a blast from the past boys and girls. This song ranks up there with" I cant get no satisfaction" by Devo.

  • Geez, I thought this was an Asian woman singing the song. Apparently, I am wrong.

  • I did too, lol.

  • :48 Tallest woman in the World LMAO

  • this isn't live

  • Its the Beatles. Money. Thats what I want and some bird taking the piss.

  • aweeeesome!

  • Absurd/Dada rock

  • So weird it's like......freaking awsome!!!!!

  • ah this song is freakin AWESOME!! WOOOO

  • Frank Zappa spun this during one of his bogus DJ stints at WPIX in 1979!

  • The beatles covered it. It is Barret Strong I think that did the original. It's a motown songs.

The beatles first couple of albums had a few of motown covers on them

  • Love that toy piano!

  • the women seems to have NO emotion

  • That's the idea.

  • nessa3464 - flying lizards may have appeared to have been "contrived" as you say but that was part of the big joke, which this is - she doesn't smile but then did you ever see krafwerk smile? As for unrefined, as a musician, i love it... makes a change from air-brushed muzak

  • nessa3464... the whole point of the song is to create a de-humanised modern sound and image - kraftwerk did a similar thing - this is the coolest band from the late-seventies, so homemade and amateur...DIY Rock

  • I agree with you about "a de-humanised sound and image." But Kraftwerk were never so contrived and terribly unrefined as this.

  • the best things in life are free

but you can give that to the birds and bees

ur love gives me such a thrill

but ur love wont pay my bills

    I WANT MONEY

    THATS WHAT I WANT

  • wy is her face/expression so blank?

  • because you can't even simply spell a simple word like "why"

  • And you can't even simply use proper punctuation.

  • This is sooooooooooo f*cking awesome!!!!!!!

  • Almost a Trio/ Stephan Remmler' esque event but not quite.....

  • I love her sexy shaky strange British accent. Its sexy

  • it's sounds more swedish to me

  • It's too small anyway.

Can't really see what's going on.

  • I think the guitar playing gives it away as an obvious sync...just my opinion.

  • every time i see stuff like this i am reminded of a series of amazing live albums called "you cant do that on stage anymore"...notice the obvious lip sync by how far away from the mic she is and especially during the "solo"...no one does this stuff anymore! i miss the 80's sometimes

  • Could she be more obviously high? Great song though.

  • your love gives me a such a thrill but, your love wouldn't pay "are" bills... hahahah i'm going to try that one on my yvon.. but, unfortanately it will be lost in translation. hell i will give it a treat.

  • This sounds really like a Miss KIttin song...

  • I think Deborahs bitchy, deadpan accent on this has a serious sex appeal.Really hot woman indeed.

  • ok systemotadown you can jump off the angry video game nerds cockle for a minute there and come up with something a little more original, you are not james rolfe, he has that thing they used to have back in the day, oh yea talent

  • Thanks for posting the video. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

  • thats what she wants.

  • isn't it obvious that she's singing like that intentionally? I think it's artistic and different

  • THIS SONG IS LIKE COCANE

  • this woman is HOT

  • eww gross dont say that!! she looks like my mom! xP

  • one hot mom you have

  • @tomheaddoc

    not

  • i love this version - thx

  • they call me stacy, thats not my name

  • Musique de la derniere pub ING DIRECT.

    Géniale !

  • Comment removed

  • isn't that a girl singer???

  • this song it's a good joke

  • not really "live", this is the single (45) mix, but still a grear song. so great i've bought the album 3X and the CD too.

  • I too was a kid when this was out, quite like it as an alternative take on it. The Beatles version is decent but the original version by Barrett Strong, 1959 is BY FAR the best. It was first released on a label called 'Anna' (named after Berry Gordy's sister - who Marvin Gaye married) and I think it was released again shortly afterwards on one of the various Motown labels. (If you like vinyl, the original 45 single on Anna should cost you £10 max, probably cheaper in USA - $5 to $10 max.

  • The Filipino national anthem.

  • this was the first single i ever bought!

i got it from revolver records in sheffield market...

    its been a while!

  • i love the way she dances...

  • That's so wierd when that guy starts going through the papers and saying things into the microphones.

  • pcp

  • This is an awesome cover of the Beatle's tune. Love it.

  • Not a Beatles cover. The Beatles did it as a cover. Barret Strong did original.

  • cool. thanks for that.

  • The Beatles did a cover of this, but they didn't write it.

  • right. i responded to bushinjail 2 weeks ago acknowledging that. thanks.

  • Sorry,I didn't see your comment on the Beatles.Other-wise I wouldn't have posted it myself.Although I think the Beatles are the best band in history,I don't think it's right for anyone to get credit for something they didn't do.That should go to the original artist even if she / he didn't have the most popular cut of it.

  • no big. and of course the original artist should get the ultimate credit..

  • Your love gives me such a thrill,

but your love won't pay my bills...

    I want MONEY! Yes that's I WANT!!!

I had written this line down on a refridgerator memo~

  • Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

  • Rock and Roll

  • what the heck!?

  • Holy crap - she is HawT !! They are Rad Dad !!!

  • I've been looking for this cover ever since I heard it on college radio for 15 years ago. Thank you!

  • Is this Margaret Thatcher when she was Young?

    Love this song

  • lol.

  • the video is live, but it sounds like the music has been put on top of the video from limewire or something, the music is very clear to be live.

  • I liked this when it came out..

    And I still love it.

    Cheers for posting;)

  • You Sir...Have great taste!!

I still have this on 8 track!

    64m >:-)

  • Then sir, so have you;)

  • I hated this at the time but i love it now

  • this is who the ting tings masturbate over

  • Well it's a lot better than the crap that there is out there now, no belly buttons and really annoying dancers in the background.

  • This shit sucked! BIG TIME!!! this ain't fuckin' music...the girl ain't singing but talking, and she looks like she has smoked some weed...the guy looks like he has taken speed or something..because he does some weird random shit!

  • yeah, they are known for being like that. that's their point. dead pan.

  • Exactly Trollfinger.

That's the whole mind behind it. People should be more creative and open to different kind of music. Learn to enjoy it, and see it from another point of view.

  • music is music...shit ain't music, makes sence doesn't it?? you can't put together any shit and call it music...

  • But this isn't shit, its awesome.

  • LOL!!!! This is great! I like it! Thanks for posting this! Cheers!

  • this isn't pop music - it's a work of genius. performance art at its greatest. a classic.

  • mexican radio-wall of voodoo- 1983

  • WHO was the original vocalist on this track? whoever she is, she's one of the most influential unknown vocalists in the history of pop. many (if not most) of the female "electronica" vocalists have aped her style. miss kittin for one. and i'm sure you can think of others.)

  • Posh English folk can afford more R's

    so dance becomes darnce

    and can't becomes carn't

Poor Irish folk can't afford to splash out on

H's and T's and that's why they say dese, dat, dem and dose and tings like da.

but that chicks accent is just clarssy )) 1st heard it on a punk anthem compilation album in the early 80's, was always under the impression she was oriental-great video

  • Heh heh hehhhhhh......... yeah.... fantastic moody kink vibing jam.

Finally decided to research this version just 8short years after 1st hearing it on the modern Charlies Angels flic, lol. Better late than never, glad I caught this video, :))))

  • silly remake of a cool song.

  • I love this song. I wonder what inspired the lyrics. I can only think perhaps an

    "ex-spouse"...anyway good tune! !

  • i like this cover,it's so cool.lol i love her expression,it dosen't change.

  • Awesome. A lost nugget of joy.

  • You know when you can't get a song out of your head? but I've had this on my brain for like a week! Damn you Flying Lizards, help me please! I'm going ga ga LOL

  • Best way is to find another song to counter it.

  • Its not Beethovens 5th but I've always loved this song. NY mod at its best. Its a great rendition in abstract

  • Great clip! Long before The Buggles killed the radio star, and Love And Rockets became Bumblebee Men. The Flying Lizards just outdid them all and gave them the groundwork to work with. Kudos!

  • is she retarded hahaha

  • She looks like one of the women from that polygamous cult in Texas

  • I want honey!

  • I love the Flying Lizards. truly brilliant!!

  • Like a raw blast of creativity coming from nowhere. This people were truly innovators and unique.

  • That's not "live". Nevertheless, great song. Doesn't she look like Connie Booth ('Polly' from Faulty Towers) LOL

  • Yes.

  • the drummer and the music are definitely not in sync in this video.

  • The Beatles' version is miles better. They actually sing instead of talking.

  • Pretty sure you missed the whole point of the band there...

  • Imagine living in a head so square. Imagine all the art work from the Flying Lizards flying over one's square head. You may say na na da dee dreamer...but dada doo dah day.

  • what

  • I'd bone her out...

  • This is brilliant! I LOVE the Flying Lizards! It was a fantastic time - and we changed your world, people, so be grateful lol! For a look at how punks lived in London in 1979 check out my video called - erm - London Punk 1979 :)

  • Funny how you remember things. I always remember the singer being punk/goth. Like a Siouxsie Sioux wannabe. Or was that the girl who sang "Drowning in Berlin"...? It's all a blur now..........

  • Live errrrrr

    good song it was

  • now I get where "pheobe" (in friends) got her character from.

  • beatles version is better.

  • BRAVO BRAVO que de souvenirs,c'est l'expression du visage que l'on a quand tout ce que l'on veut c'est MONEY

  • Don't think she was interested in sex, perhaps drugs? Remember (if you were there then)...they were good back then! Check her out!

  • wow heaps of people dont like my comment.... probably grew up before the sex revolution. not you though.

  • I love this song!

  • this song is so great in lord of war, its like it was made exclusively for the scene it's played in

  • I remember this song from the late

    70's....love it
