just got mine today, with a nice set of deep + shallow inpact sockets from 8-24. didnt even get a chance to try it out if our apprentis touches it i will destroy his mortal soul
Grab one on monday can't put it down works great!!! I work on kubota tractors and commercial mowers alot of times im out in a field with no air or electric.
just bought one of these and find it invaluable now. Don't know how i managed without it. Great for doing jobs at home and gets the job done much faster. A great investment.
I really like snap on cordless tools, I have the 1/2 impact, 3/8 Impact, Snap on cordless 18v drill, 18v grease gun, and flashlight. Snap on is the Bentley of tool!
OOOO those people in the ad are putting the wheels on wrong! You are supposed to use the impact wrench for a second before it starts hammering. To tighten it up a bit. Then you get out the torque wrench and torque it to the manufacturers torque specifications.
I really like some of Snapons products but this commercial sucks! This ad is nothing more than a cheap gimmick trying exploit people into buying this impact gun. Using supraliminal persuasive phrases like "critical to my business" "must have" and then using subliminal images at the end to influence people with their brand and product. Snapon is very high quality why stoop to this level c'mon.
snap on air impact gun suck. ir Ti way better. but snap on cordless impact are the best. I own both 14.4 and 18V nicad. 7.2 v snap-on screw gun suck, I should get the makita 12v li. for less and have drill and impact. I also likes and own mac and matco. which ever better deal i get them.
I put this impact up against matcos since matco claim they have more torque. I did this on the matco tool truck and the matco dealer was rather embarassed when the 4410 smoked matcos. The one thing matco does have over snap on is lithium batteries on all the cordless line snap only offers it on the 1/2 cordless.
I once sliced my thumb nail due to a Snap on ratchet giving up on me! Till this day (4 years later) the nail grows with a visible line in there, Thank You Snap On! I wont touch you again! We were getting these tools in the aviation industry just because of the warranty and the guy wasnt too happy when we were giving him broken tools instead of buying more.
buddys got one definatly could last a 4 rim cycle but i woulnt trust a 3/8 impact on anything more than a 4 lug without torque testing them you want the half inch model if lugs are your main intention 3/8 will do everything in between tho. and snapons not the only option IR and Makita make better guns that are way more affordable.
hey im in the market at buying one of these......can i pull of the lugs of 4 rims and put them back on? I do a lot of mobile repairs with heavy tourqed bolts........but if it can do just heavy lug nuts thats good enough and would help me out tons! anyone know?
Notice the family resemblance! ummm ok I noticed... Comfort with balance and erglonomics! wait... what? This thing will wear your threads out like a mother***ker!!! Great! I'll take one!
I had my Snap On CT4850 for close to 3 years before the NiCd battery started to fade in run time. Instead of buying a new 2.4Ah battery ($100+), i had a local shop (Batteries Plus) rebuild the battery pack using 4.6 Ah NiMH sub C cells. Thats almost double the run time with a BETTER battery chemistry. Now my gun REALLY rocks. The best this is that a rebuild service cost me roughly $50.
@r1killen yes as long as they are not seriously over tight, batteries can fail so ive heard but I think that has a lot to do with over charging ie not doing a full discharge cycle
i have the same one it is very usfull i recommend i works on cars even if im only 15 years old but helps you if you do work in your house or if you work in a shop im telling you its worth i had mine for a cuple of years and it still good i worked in a shop and thats one of the best tools i got!!
cracking gun but the batterys r terrible for breaking. ive got 2 in my garage for my staff to use and ive had to replace 4 batteries already due to faultiness.
It has 280 ft. lbs of nut breaking torque. Just got one today and it's quite a bit stronger than my matco 14.4 3/8" cordless. Almost feels like some of my air powered 3/8" wrenches. Smaller also and don't feel cheap in my hand. After breaking 2 matcos from small drops, i went with this guy.
Yea it's pricey but after your year warranty is up, it's only 85$ to have them rebuild it.
yes and no, depends how they were last put on , just buy the gun though its a fuckin beast i have both the 1/2 and 3/8 and am in love, i treat them as if they were my kids!
I bought the 3/8 BTW 253 (makita)cordless rattle gun (Impacts wrench) and I am happy with it but it is outdone in all areas by the snap-on equivalent. I tested the Snap-on CT4850HO and boy oh boy ! It was lighter, battery was longer it was quieter and no more annoying rattle gun sound. Makita has the famous name but they do not produce great power tools like they used too. :-(
one of the best cordless impact gun from Snap-On. i got mine just recently and i'm telling yah, having that light turn on when using it really helps out alot!
snap-on isnt the best dude,best is stahlwille,gedora,hazet or kokon,best mayby in usa...LOL
