  • Good thinking about mixing up your winter layers to compare with other materials. Learn by doing right : ) Nice outing as always.

  • @CampfireTalk Thank ya brother. I am off next 3 days trying to catch up on videos lol. May do one tomorrow.

  • It was a good video. I have never tried snow shoes, but we don't have any snow this year. Wearing them don't you burn a lot of calories when wearing them? I am interested in them. Take care. Later....

  • @DennyRec Ya you get a work out with them exspecially when the snow is deep

  • Nice hike, love the snow. Thanks for sharing.

  • @beactivelife Thank you my friend

  • Man, I wish the snow would come to Southern Ontario so I could get my shoes out this year!

    Thanks for another great video.

    William

  • @wildwillysearchgod Well it's all gone now just rain grrr lol

  • Cant wait to get my shoes out again and hike. Great video brother thanks for the share.

  • @guns4funca Ya now all the snows gone, damn solar flare crap lol

  • I like to do the same thing with the map in an area you're familiar with. Helps to learn/strengthen the map skills.

  • @Cr0cket20 Totally agree. OBTW I enjoyed the add video over at Ribz

  • The shell is looking mighty nice matched-up against those snow-laden trees. Beautiful day out there my friend. We had 8 inches here and then the rains came and washed it all away. Always enjoy seeing you practice yours skills in all weather conditions - it's a learning and teaching experience we share with other as friends in this YT community. I've learned a lot from watching you Jim, thank you for sharing all your moments out there with us!

  • @wawhiker Thanks Bill, When you have time shoot me a email or call always look forward to hearing from you

  • Good stuff Jim Buddy! Your GSI kettle will work fine on my stove buddy. I don't have the stainless version but the aluminum one works great on that stove. Very fast boil time too :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Ya I remembered you said something about my msr Titan kettle being at the end of the size but couldn't remember as if smallest or biggest lol

  • Lovin' that winter wonderland there buddy... just gorgeous! You sure did make some excellent points in this video Jim. I don't think it really matters how good your skills are, sometimes things go wrong and its always smart to have backups. Ironically, it is the so-called "experts" that usually get themselves in the most trouble. Good stuff my friend :-)

P.S. Gotta love camera problems, eh? ;-)

  • @intenseangler I think the camera problem was the cold. At home it wrote to card OK . Ya I like to know I have a back up plan.

  • Nice table setup Jim. Its good to see you hiking in your season; winter! A mighty fine selection of fire starter you have there. Thumbs Up!

  • @CrazyTaileZ Thanks Matt it's great getting out. I am planning something for next week . I think people will like

  • hey jim we just got back from the whites...lots of snow....looks gorgeous there...snow finally,lol.....tree table viddles..looking good...i have to get one of those pads for notes.

  • @sousaville Ya those notepads are nice haven't used it or the pen a well . waiting for the need i hate wasting stuff.

  • @medicjimr i dont blame you on that...enjoy the snow while it lasts.

  • Nice day out! Thanks for letting me tag along;o) I agree with you on the tinder I try to remeber to grabb some as soon as I see some. Then I have chance of drying it out before use. Fire is something I never take for granted, so I know what you are talking about.

Take care and have a great time in the great outdoors.

    Rob

  • @Andersbork I try to do it all natural when I can, If I can't and I want a fire I have something atleast to help.

  • well i see you made up one of them there tables from the canadian feller. let me know when you go to linvile gorge i might tag along if i can. it was a blizzard here this morning. almost a foot total expected by tomorrow morning and all schools closed. it takes alot to close a school around here lol. i was gonna say something else but forgot.
