the weird thing is i live bout 2 minutes away, know a buncha kids there, but i go to a different school...even though i was originally supposed to go to tino....this sucks
Hey peeps! LIKE the DELL U CALIFORNIA PAGE now for a chance to win Superprom next year! We also have tons of other cool discounts and contests all the time.
so, they did something amazing, then spoiled it by entering it into a contest... they should have turned down the show and given the money to the original charity.
We didn't "spoil" our project; Kenya Dream did contact Dell and ask for the $100,000 prize in cash for the school in Kenya but Dell didn't agree because the money also factored in promotions from other companies. However, we continued to fundraise our project by selling prom bids where otherwise, it would have been a free prom.
I just said Kenya Dream contacted Dell.... and to answer your "better" question: We entered the Dell contest to gain publicity for Kenya Dream. The publicity will make fundraising easier and help us reach our $100,000 goal before the end of our senior year. It wasn't meant to "show off" our project, we were merely stating our reasons for entering the contest.
WHAT!? that is sooooo sick erock....thanks for posting.. great inspiration of that class of 2010! wow! i wanna see that 60 second clip they sent to dell!

@connieshouts Who contacted Dell in the first place? A better question is, why did you guys make a video showing off your philanthropy?
