I don't know how you people can say you think it's boring because it's too realistic. In my opinion it isn't that, it's GTA IV don't offer as much as you'd expect. There's not enough stuff to do in it, like flying, parachuting, buying drugs, throwing people around, tanks, monster trucks, better cars, modelling vehicle ability etc... If all these options were included, also in multiplayer, I doubt you'd get so bored of it...

well just see if this game can break the record for the highest of sales in the first week for ANY media, as GTA4 had, it earnt more money than any book or movie ever in its first week.

saints row wont sell jack shit, it has ps2 graphics, its just a cheap production, and unlike GTA they havent laid the basis with ground breaking grapghics and physics, they have just put in a couple cheap side missions and activities, which take no work at all to create compared to GTA's technical acheivements.

Compare the graphics to COD4, Gears of War, Uncharted or MGS4, all those games leave GTA4 in the dust.

Compare GTA's bog standard physics engine, with real advancements like in Star Wars : Force unleashed or Fracture. GTA4 is good, but WAY over rated.

To me, it's more like skipping the prologue of a book and jumping right into the story, you don't necessarily need it, since you're going to be involved in the story of the actual book, instead of the preface/prologue, or even like reading the back of a book. SR2 is featuring a story that is built off the last one, but it is unique to it's own right. Anyone can pick it up, just like the Zelda games.
