  • This was well made. I mean, it's perfect, and THIS makes me want to watch it more now!

  • @ianflowforever - I think the original trailer accomplishes that well enough as well. It's the music really.

  • @koalabrownie Yeah. The original trailer made me want to watch it a bunch, but whenever I fan trailers, my desire goes up with things...

  • @ianflowforever I'm glad you feel that way!

  • I love this :D

  • 3:28 leaves me no other option but to assume that red thing is a dildo. lmfao.

  • @riminina though of course you know its a mail box really

  • I also once dreamed I was Goku from Dragon Ball.

  • Anyways.... My favorite part of this move in terms of tenderness was the Tokita moment. Maybe that and the beginning of the film. Maaaaybe.

  • 1:53 Inception n_n

  • @theonewhocomments -grabs and throws down, curb stomping-

  • @GreyMatter00Duh *jumps into passing kid's t-shirt, escapes*

  • 1:12 son goku rides on jindujun :D i love this song

  • @FratelloTheHive

    Thats monkey, not goku.

  • That was amazing. I love how u included only the good scenes from the movie. It's hard to find these clips on YT.

  • @eckosama

Why dont you just buy the film instead of trawling youtube? I found it for £5 brand new

  • @hungoversundays shoot... it's not that cheap in America I don't thin.

  • It´s a good video, but one of the main problems I always see during these videos is the composition during a cut. Some of it in this clip is good while some of it just don´t work out and is way too slow.

Also try to avoid using clips where the mouth moves. It´s such a bother because it does not work out correctly.

  • @KitiaraAlatus I did not pay attention to the fact that it is an old video. Also I just like to express my opinions.

  • @KitiaraAlatus He's just giving some friendly advice. That's it.

  • @KitiaraAlatus When someone critiques your work you also have to take on the stance of an observer. Besides, even if you aren't working on anything animated or graphic, it's still good to note and respect another persons comment. People critique things they are passionate about. you don't know why anyone would do it because you have never done it or you haven't considered why you've critiqued before.

  • @KitiaraAlatus love it

  • @KitiaraAlatus Because it's on the net, ready and available for criticism and other kinds of feedback. The only way to avoid it is to disable comments.

Doing something on a whim makes no difference. Times makes no difference. What you have done since... might do a difference if you've done something spectacularly good or bad.

However, if it's on the internet then it's considered ready and available for all kinds of feedback.

  • Ahhhh esta cancion es tan relajante

  • Awesome anime! Awesome ending and the Parade is awesome to!

  • i just bought this movie this last weekend. So worth it! May Satoshi Kon rest in peace!

  • Terrible loss to the world of Anime, will miss those fantastic works he always seems to produce. Gahh 46 what a waste.

  • R.I.P. Satoshi Kon we will miss

  • Descanse en paz en Sensei

  • @4aiiii He dead now...

  • R.I.P. Satoshi Kon, the legendary animation director.

  • who ever has the mad mind to create this has to be a genius. if a ever met someone such as hirasawa, im sure i would collapse from amazement.

  • I FUCKING LOVE PAPRIKA!

  • 3:32 a definate homage to Sgt Peppers.

  • 1:10 GOKU?! THE MONKEY (KING)She better be dreaming, lol nimbus is there to :D

  • You got it, ChaosBW! That's exactly right!

  • YAY!!!!!!! do I gets a cookie?

  • @ChaosBW Yep, the orignal legend of Goku (from China) had him being given headaches by a metal band around his head (Sanzuhoshi would make the metal band his head shrink to supress his evil).

  • @heero171 the more you know! :D

  • @ChaosBW eh... just a product of reading. Other than cultural stuff, I'm hopeless when it comes to everything else >.<

  • 3:32 superb!

  • >_>

  • phodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    kero assistiir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF is this? It's trippy and I really like it!

  • Een zalige film met zalige muziek

  • 1:30

    Holy shit!

  • To those who've seen this amazing film: (SPOILER ALERT!)

When Paprika in fairy form was being chased through that forest, did anyone else out there yell at the TV, "FLY, girl, FLY!!" ? I sure did!

  • I didn't, I yelled "Tinkerbell~:D" and so did a few other people.

  • I was kinda hoping she would use her wand and do something, but I was amazed at the Paprika experience.

  • I watched this movie in Anime Club today, good movie, good song. Me likey :D

  • I love this movie ^_^!

  • Isn't this song "Meditional field" or something like that. Because i have the all Paprika songs on my pc, and it's nothing like this.

  • Please try to also keep in mind that this song was originally released in Japan and had translated track names in the US. ^^

  • The track names have been mixed up since they were transferred from CD to internet. "Nigeru Mono" in japanese means "One that flees" or "Runner", not "Meditational Field" which is the official name looking at the CD's track list and Hirasawa Susumu's Site.

The actual "Nigeru Mono" track is background music that is completely different from "Meditational Field."

Nevertheless, I think we can accept the name of this track since the mix-up has existed for too long, anyhow. :)

  • Its not the biggest deal in the world; all I know is that when I bought the CD and it retrieved the track names, this is what I was given! :P

Nevertheless, thank you for the clarification.

  • No problem. Actually I made a mistake: It's supposed to be 'Mediational' Field and not 'MediTational Field'. The Actual Japanese title translates to "Field of Media' apparently. Another common mistake. At this rate we may never know the correct title, so all is good. :)

I research this stuff too much.

Lovely AMV, glad people are still talking about it even after a year.

  • Just a question... You said that these tracks got kinda mixed up, so does that mean that the title "Shizuku Ippai no Kioku" is NOT the "Parade" song? (The vocal version, not the instrumental version...)

  • "Shizuku Ippai no Kioku" as a literal Japanese translation means 'A Droplet Full of Memories"

I believe this is the name of the slower version of "Mediational Field"

The Parade song is simply called "Parade". On the Tracklist, there is "Parade" and "Parade-instrumental version"

  • Oh, okay! Thanks! I was wondering because everyone always types "Shizuku Ippai no Kioku" as the title for "Parade", and I always figured it was a line in the song or something... Thanks again!

  • @OonXniiQ1337 so what is the name of this song??

  • such a good sonngggg

  • This song has frustrated me because I want to sing it but I cannot.

I have tried, but I cannot.

  • lol ME TOO

  • So surreal.

    So fantastic.

  • looooooooooooooove paprika!!! this songs is the best!!! and the movie even better!!! Hail to Satoshi Kon!

  • Nice song, even greater movie :D thx for posting ^^

  • Amazing film AMAZING song i love it!!!!!

  • Why does this song have so many names?

  • They're all Remakes of "Girl From Byakkoya"

  • Dude, I have a little Japanese doll that looks exactly like that huge creepy one!

  • I'd watch out if I were you...

  • Yeah, it might be watching you... waiting, waiting for a chance to strike...

  • *shudders*

  • this movie rocks!!! o_o

  • I´m really looking for the MP3 of this song, do you know where I can find it?

  • i cant describe how beautiful that is

    it makes me cry T_T

  • This is the music that life is made out of! :D

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the part where she falls through the sky and passes a cloud and comes out dressed like son goku

  • Actually, it's a reference to the Monkey King from Journey to the West. However, the character of Son Goku was based on the Monkey King (as Dragon Ball started out as a loose adaptation of Journey to the West), so the confusion is understandable.

  • That part was so wicked though, I became addicted to the movie-my sister got mad.

Sadly, I was unaware I was buying the movie so I couldn't watch it anymore :P.

  • i love the song

  • I watched the movie on On Demand, and you can rewind the movie. I rewinded the movie for two reasons-this song and the part with the elevator towards the end.

    Movie and song were addicting.

  • All the best bits from the movie... I could never get tired of this! Thank you!!!

  • OMGOSH THAT'S AWESOME! WHO EVER CREATED THE ANIME HAS A A GREAT IMAGINATION! <3 I'm in love with the song ^^ :] good job on the vid!

  • Thanks. The director of Paprika was Satoshi Kon. Susumu Hirasawa wrote the musical score.

  • @KitiaraAlatus And the original concept and script was written by Yasutaka Tsutsui in 1993...give props to him too...he deserve it...

  • thz for teh song i luv it!!!

  • good idea :)

  • at the very beginning, it looks like sghe is mouthing it, no?

  • the music was very cool, also in the movie where she turned in sunwukong was FRIKIN AWSOME on 1:09

  • I really liked this movie, and the music is addicting.

But I have to say, some scenes were pretty messed up o_O

  • If you like Paprika, you'll love Paranoia Agent. Very many of the same themes are in there, and another detective character in there.

  • Ah, yes. Paranoia Agent was awesome. It was kind of disturbing, though.

  • Paprika was good ^^ ~

LOve this song! haha,, kinda addicting ;P ~

  • Good stoner anime

  • you have no idea!!! unless u saw it stoned

  • is it just me or do I kinda hear the woman's voice say "ni hao~a"? haha ^^;

  • Almost one of the best anime theme songs ever!!!!!!

  • I love with this song!!

  • Love this song so much. xD

My friend got me hooked on the movie and this song. <3

  • Do a video for "Lounge"! Probably the movie's best song...

  • Hmm.. I dunno. Lounge is awesome but its a little mellow for a video. I'll think about it. :)

  • i love it

  • wonderful movie

  • ware do you find the full thing with eng dunned?

  • I really like the way you've made your AMV! You get 5 out of 5 by me for being beautifully creative :) I love how you've used the theme song - the part you use is the one i like the best out of the whole song!

    - I really liked this movie and the way it was told.. it's always fun when a anime give you something to think about and this one really did just that!

  • Music does it all :P

  • and animation, plot and charachters, the only word for paprika is MASTERPIECE, and they gave the oscar to some rendered penguins, FUCK THE OSCARS!!!!!

  • Yeah,. screw those penguins.

    Paprika was amazing!!! :P

  • i loved this fukin movie so much u have no idea

  • Some how it reminds me of Paranoia agent..

  • It's made by the same man ;)

  • Love the cerebral stuff! This rocks!

  • oh wow! cool

  • It is somewhat like the Matrix, but nevertheless everyone here still hates you so, so, much that we will flag you a thousand times and kill you on the internet.

  • Because "Matrix" is a copy of Japanese animation.

  • the idea of the matrix was taken from ghostintheshell. the creators of hte matrix watched it and tried to make it similar

  • Ooooohhhhhh how awesome!

  • Where can you get this song ... I've been looking for it for about 4 months now!

  • You can buy the soundtrack off of Amazon. That's where I bought it.

  • You can download it for free, as well as legally. Google "The Girl in Byakkoya" and click on one of the first links or so.

Susumu Hirasawa (the composer of the song) believed that it was such a good song that it should be released to the public free of charge.

  • That's hilarious.

He's like "I'm such a pimp that it would be a tragedy if even one person couldn't hear how unbelievably awesome my song is because they didn't have a dollar."

    ...and it's true. :(

  • Thanks for sharing that! ^^

  • Actually, i think the version of the song in this video is called "Meditation Field." "The Girl in Byakkoya" is like a more acoustic sounding version with more lyrics. Both are gorgeous songs though :D

  • My apologies; indeed the song in the video is "Mediational Field". Sorry for any confusion.

  • Yeah, this song is "Meditational Field". If you look on iTunes, they have the Paprika soundtrack, with the song names and previews. The Girl in Byakkoya is the ending credits theme. Just noting. :3

  • yon yai nunsei un ken huaiiii!!!!

  • When I saw her on the cloud, I was like, "Oh!!! It's the Monkey King!!! Goku!!!" And my friends had no idea what I was talking about. ^^;

    (the monkey king legend)

  • How/were can I make/find an animation of Paprika flying in the sky at the beginning of the video? It's so awesome.

  • thanks for posting this video! I'm too cheap to buy the song on iTunes so I keep coming back to your video to be able to hear it - not to mention you did a great job on the video compilation! :)

  • 酔いゃ なぜに 無限と美杯~ どー! 酔いゃ 飲んで 人類 下戸 美杯~ どー!

  • I highly reccomend this film!!! The soundtrack is magnificent, as is the animation. It's all so beautiful... And it's quite the head trip! It shows the power of dreams and human vulnerability and ethics with emerging psychiatric technologies. Quite the movie. I like this one than most live action films! (well, I'm also biased from being an anime fan already!)

  • wats the song title

  • Its in the title of the video.

  • awsome everything! XD

  • i love the tagline for this movie this is your brain on anime XD wow ive never heard of this movie before i feel like im missing out on too much! beutiful music and video ^_-

  • this sure looks like a beutiful movie

  • It's an AWESOME movie. Satoshi Kon has done it again. A masterpiece. He's not just an anime director, he's a MOVIE director.

  • I just watched the movie. I think it's his masterpiece so far (millenium actress was beautiful too) but this one was something else. And Paprica is such a lovable character! Thank you for sharing the vid :)

  • I got Paprika on DVD this week and was utterly blown away.

Satoshi Kon is a god among men

  • I'm so glad that the DVD has finally been released in North America; its been so hard to try and explain the movie up to this point. :p

  • I just love that most of my friends are at least savvy enough to know who Satoshi Kon is.

My friend Alex is nuts for both Paranoia Agent and Millennium Actress.

  • fantastic job

  • Awesome job on this AMV.

Paprika is my favorite Anime movie ever, with Perfect Blue coming a very close second.

  • I just ordered this movie and I cant wait to watch it.
