well, a few factors as to why they crowded around this mother. usually, pandas only care for one cub at a time. the fact that two were born is amazingly enough, though the second cub (in the wild) would've been abandoned. also, it's an attempt to raise panda numbers in both captivity and in the wild.

Just curious why this mother panda is forced to labor and give birth in a cold cement cage similar to a jail cell, without any soft hay or leaves to give her comfort and some traction when trying to move around on a slick cement floor.
