What utter rot. They never should have put that horrible twist in the movie. It's such a letdown. I mean, it's still an amazing scene if she weren't blind, but the fact that you were led to believe she was and then told she was faking it, it makes the scene so disappointing the second time around.
Completely disagree. In fact, watching it for the second time gives a whole new meaning for the fight, a lot of subtext I never got in the first place not just because she was faking, but because of the other fake things in the scene...
I completely agree with you disagreeing with the fellow above. it's not a horrible twist. it's a twist that made the movie more intriguing or interesting as opposed to disappointing.
I agree with Yidenia and you Vicente. Ya it's interesting to have that twist! But it would have been so much cooler if she was actually blind. This is just me and I love this movie. The twist was interesting I give you that. But her being blind to me was more intrigued story element. I would have LOVED it either way. Just sayin.
it seems like she's being striped off (or raped) when her sleeves r sliced off piece by piece... :P and the funny sound she did during the sword fight... well..
Very little and it's not gliding so much as pushing the momentum of your movement where you want to go. You get up enough speed with your weight using your strength, you'll go flying, yes, but not gliding like that, no. In Martial Arts, we learn to control our balance and weight or "cat weight".
Yeah, In China it was the WOW factor that made the film..
The closist of that is of 'Ninjutsu' where they practice 'Air Running' i think, and they can push the legs to move further .... but it's not anything like this. But similar.
Whatever happened to REAL martial arts huh? What's with all this flying crap and movements that defy physics???
Real Kung Fu is MUCH more beautiful than this crap.

I agree as well. The second viewing made so much more come to light. Yidenia, you have to look deeper at the film. You missed too much.

i wonder if anyone can really glide like he did.

I think people might have been able to jump high but i think this is a bit exagerated.

yea i agree
most martial arts movies give a lil gliding in the movie like crouching tiger
but its awesome

they have a whole genre in chinese films that have those gliding stuff called wuxia.
NotsoUltraman 4 years ago
Wuxia means a martial artist warriors. Is equivalent to a samurai warrior in Japan. I believe the word you are looking for is wushu films.
