Why do you say she sings phony? I think she was going for a really specific vibe with this song which is very bluesy. If you listen to the rest of the album you'll realise every one of her songs sounds different.

Not to mention her style has matured a great deal in her second album.

I love this song. I first heard it on Lipstick Jungle last week. You can look up the songs that are played during the show each week. After I found out who sang the song, I googled her name and the title of this song, and your you tube video was listed so I clicked on it!! I'm glad you chose this artist. Kudos to you!! She sounds like a jazz singer, singing the blues, and I guess that's how I'll describe her. I love it... Excellent!!
