alideutscher, as a Powerlifter who proudly represented Canada at two Special Olympics World Summer Games, I can tell you from my personal experience that Powerlifting is not all genetics, but its mostly hard work and commitment.
As a matter of fact, even if the Special Olympics, to be a world champion Powerlifter, you need to train at least 2.5 to 3 hours a day, three times per week.
While its true I inherited large, powerful shoulders, and large bones, but the sport still involves hard work.
It's all good lifting but i'm not a fan of sumo lifts the weights dosn't have to go nearly as far up as it is with regular lifting.
