I never recommend communion by the hands but this woman showed utter lack of respect and if your loved one is disrespected, we should show outage! That was really rude... Was she a Catholic? Looks not by the way she accepts the blessed host. She should have just said Amen after the priest said The Body of Christ. Am not sure though if the priest has said something else in addition to saying The Body of Christ. Everything she's done from the start was really not the proper way of accepting the Holy Eucharist. She should have inhibit herself from taking communion if she's not catholic. Wonder if someone called her attention.

Holy Communion can be refused by the Celebrant of the Mass to any known & notorious sinner, and in this particular case, both the candidate & his girlfriend with whom he co-habitates should have been refused. Fornication is still a sin. Furthermore, Holy Scripture is unambigous about receiving the Blessed Sacrament unworthily & irreverently, the consequences thereof being dire to one's soul. If the girl sinned because of ignorance, then some of the blame rests upon her pastors & catechists too.

I recall hearing a story about a bishop who was in prison who walked around his jail with a piece of the Eucharist in his shirt pocket to remind him that he must bring Christ to the prison guards, and bring them to Christ. That bishop became a cardinal. His name was Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyễn Văn Thuận, and a process has begun for his beatification. Then again, he placed it in a container to keep it safe. It's how this woman did it and the unjustified circumstances that make it a sacrilege.

We need to learn better about our faith, not just go to church on Sundays and leave it at that. I used to be ignorant of the faith, up until I started to become deeper into it and actually learning more. I hope she was just in error from ignorance and not acting out of malice.

The real presence is obvious to them as it is to us, only we hold the real presence at such a tremendously high value whereas they use it for their sorcery and mockery of Jesus. I don't know what was in this lady's heart but hopefully her motives were good even if she was thoroughly misguided. I'm not outraged, instead I am saddened.

Certainly she needs to be better educated. Not vilified, but in charity guided towards a better and more appropriate reverence for the Sacrament. May that happen, and may this example of error inspire in all of us a greater reverence and respect for Our Lord fully present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
