I grew up on this album, and DM all together. I'm 35 and STILL love them. They helped me through a lot of my depressing teen years. Love you David xoxox Thanks!
Yeah, DM at their very peak... The sound is simply unique, the melodies genuine, lyrics very fantastic... What else? We were lucky enough to live those fantastic years. Nowadays generations have to deal with crap.
@javierqatar I'm listening to DM now, in 2011 I'm 23 years old. If I want to discover the best music I have to turn around and go back to 80-90s, proud to be an old school boy.
@alanwilder81 perhaps shit this is the master piece of DM...its all in the lyrics this si my second choice for the best cd ever written..second only too the cures disinegration.. if you havent listened and read the lyrics on disinigration u should..thx
i am into " the cure " too , love their first three albums , then they went poppy , to come back to their route with " disintegration " , an absoulute masterpiece . But depeche mode remain , IMHO , something hard to compare to any other band or similar genres due their unique syinthesized sound . just great !!!!
@alanwilder81 well i cannot argue with you on that mate...how could i argue with someone with such good taste wish my wife had your tastaes ..lol thanks
mate , i wish my friends had my taste too ! Sadly they are into mainstream crap , but what can you expect form people who goes crazy for Rihanna ? They will never understand what Depeche Mode , all the post punk means to me , and most importantly , to the whole music industry history .
@alanwilder81 well at least we can say we lived it and that cannot be taken from us..hell i even saw the ramones 16 times.....and many more..god why cant i go back to 1980...i was seventeen...and music ruled glad im not alone..nice chattin mate....
hard to tell what DM best period/album was ..... for me , personally , ANY of their outcome with Alan Wilder involved was excellent , fantastic "Music For The Masses" too , dark , deep , cold and bright at the same time . A milestone of the '80's " alternative" music , DM will always remain more that just a succesful band . DM were pioneers of sampling and heavily influenced house and techno music . And THOUSAND electro rock bands as well
