I totally agree with what you've said about Semenya. Its depressing to consider how cruely the media has ruined her sense of self, whether that be a woman or man. Keep up the good work! =)
It is a difficult situation that Semenya is in. If she is allowed to continue competing against females, most of the world will view anything she accomplishes as illegitimate. Her times aren't high enough to compete with the world's fastest men, so she couldn't compete there. The question of why we divide sports by sex in the first place will undoubtedly need to be explicitly addressed by many. At the end of the day, I doubt Semenya will compete anymore... and b/c of that, I feel sad for Semenya
wow, first, I gotta say, that's a really good and thought-out comment. yes, I agree Semenya is in a bit of a finicky situation. highly doubt he/she will race again because of all this negative publicity, and why men/women compete differently. some argue it's because biologically people are different, so that somehow creates an unbreakable divide. anyways, thanks for watching my video! greatly appreciated =)
