stick with the 50 man, she sounds sick. dont go 40 or 44 because they drone horrible and make you want to kill yourself. the 50 is a big block muffler, for this reason exactly :D
Truck sounds nice tho man, do you have any other mods like ported tb, cam or anything? I just bought an 84 im gonna keep the 454 for this year as the diesel gets built and everything ready for resto... But I lucked out and found a very sweet truck thats super clean from an old friend I know takes very great care of everything he owns...
Are you running stock exhaust manifolds? Im gonna atleast get efi on this pig to keep some mileage lol Thanks for any help man Clean Clean Ride!!!!!
Hey do you have the o2 sensors in the pipe still? I am removing my cats and putting straight pipe. But to do that I will not have the o2s in.. you think that will cause me issues?
If you have 2 o2 sensor systems than run 1st sensor like normal in piping,
& what you want to do with 2nd sensor is get a pipe thats the same sizeish of the o2 bung, and have it be cut at a 45* angle and welded back together about 1-1/2" -2" away from the exhaust piping, and run again that distance so the o2 sensor will sit in pipe and be about 4" away from any direct flow.
That should keep codes away. Look around online they might have one you can just buy, CEL eliminator.
@318dodgeN350camaro Yeah, straight pipes are too loud with a 454, and It`s illegal in AZ so i need cats, and yeah it is true dual cause i have 2 cats and 2 muffles, fake duals is when you have just 1 cat or/and 1 muffler with 2 outlets.
Nice Truck! I'm thinking about buying a truck with the 454, and no I'm not a tree hugger, but what does it get for mileage? I just want to know as much as possible before I buy. Thanks!
LOL I am suprised that is the 50 series. umm if you want to see what a super 44 sounds like, come see my videos. I think mine is louder than yours lol. but im running headers and no cats.
i live in az too and emissions suck. btw where did u get ur exhuast welded up cuz im lookin for a good shop that weld up a dual exhaust for me sometime in the future
in cold morning i see the gas make perfect smoke rings

@aakv2001 Its better to leave something on though, what none of these people realize is absolute straight pipe in a stock engines loses horsepower
chevygearhead454 1 year ago
@318dodgeN350camaro Actually true duals is a pipe from each header/manifold, into a muffler, and out the back.

@slowride55 my camaro was stright pipe from the manifolds back no muffler

she sounds mean man! what series flows are you running?
90350Chevy 3 years ago
Two 50 series flowmaster mufflers and 2 catalitic converters.
I used to have no catalitic converter but it was sooo loud and illegal in Arizona.
Sometimes i want to put 40 series or super 44 but i dont know. I think 50 series is good and loud enough. LOL. Thanks for the comments.
