  • "Were not gonna last very long on M&M's and Potato Chips

-"What about the garbage cans?Theres always something to eat in the garbage"

    Aww..yes! The Hobo Dennys

    lmao

  • They don't understand dumpsterdiving., they don't understand junkfood and they certainly don't know anything about building a fire?

This seems more like the first part of an instructional "good student" film from the good ol' MST3K days than anything else.

  • Not gonna live long on chips and M&Ms? That man was clearly never a broke college student...

  • @VTPPGLVR Since these filmmakers clearly never went to college then its no wonder they don't know that.

  • i don't think they have ever reviewed a ewan mcgregor movie, besides star wars :(

but besides that, this is histarical!

  • ''Burn the vending machines!!''

  • Burning the books?

"Ahhhh....furniture will burn longer..and hotter...don't trip over the WOODEN chairs...yep, plenty of books on those OAK tables..."

  • when I first saw this movie, I could have sworn it was an M. Night Shaymalan flick. I know of no worse critism for a movie.

  • Anybody hear about Roland Emmerich's latest Opus, "Shit got Blowed Up 2: This Time It Got Blowed Up Real Good"?

  • Just watched the riffed Day After Tomorrow with my family, GOD did we laugh our heads off, when we weren't laughing at the CGI wolves. I should get The Room riff for an even better movie night! Thanks Rifftrax

  • I love how at the end of the clip we see the obligatory one-dimensional heroic wifey reading stories to the obligatory bald cancer patient when her obligatory heroic black friend opens the door. That's pretty much the movie in a nutshell

  • The most ridiculous premise of this movie is the climatologist had a better understanding of how to run the country than the president. I almost booed when the movie ended, should have.

  • Ahh yes the hobo Denny's... or just Denny's really...

  • "oprah's book series goes first." LOL! best.

  • Yup, plenty of books on those OAK TABLES

  • don't trip over the WOODEN CHAIRS

  • I seriously hate this movie so much. Roland Emmerich is an America-hating piece of shit. I hope he gets attacked by CGI Wolves that somehow manage to survive a city wide flood and a mini ice age, and end up in the exact same location as him.

  • "Don't trip over the WOODEN chairs! Plenty of books on those OAK TABLES!"

  • Yeah just burn the books and eat the chips!

I can live like that, and I'm picky!

  • "We're not going to last very long on M&Ms and potatoe chips"

What? Did he even go to college?

  • 0:42 Take my change, will you?! Eat fire exstinguisher!

    Now to get my Skittles!

  • 0:42 Take my change, will you?! Suck fire exstinguisher!

    Now to get my Skittles!

  • Ah, in the time of when the world is a freezing block of ice, theres always time for some COMEDY! Yes, laugh it up while thousands freeze to death in the cold artic weather!

  • Hell, where did I leave that patient! haha

  • Yes, let';s burn the books when there's plenty of furniture around.

Yet another reason to hate this movie >:(

  • @Jangobadass i guess it's cuz they had nothing to chop the wood up with???

  • Ehem, the wooden furniture obviously had a polyurethane finish, which when burned would have killed them all due to the toxic fumes. Is that what you wanted?! IS IT?!?

...Cause that would have been a pretty good ending to the movie actually.

  • Don't trip over the WOODEN CHAIRS.

  • "the Oprah booklist goes first"

"Don't trip over the WOODEN chairs!"

  • really! Why the books? Dude what you have agents books?

  • 'And this is the only copy...' lol

  • Comment removed

  • where was GLOBAL WARMING when this happened??????

  • it made an iceage in this movie.

this is about as realistic as water world; fish man and all

  • i no i was just playin' since global warming is such a big deal now and all.

  • nah, you did a good joke, but I just didn't know your tone.

  • "Plenty of books on those OAK tables."

  • "You keep reading, honey. Skip the parts with Jeff Goldblum."

    XD

  • No, skip the parts with Bill Pullman or Randy Quaid. Jeff Goldblum (and Will Smith) actually had some life and personality in that movie, unlike almost everyone else.

  • uh, excuse, you guys? yeah, there's a whole section on tax law down here that we can burn.

    -oh erckel!

    CLASSIC! XD XD XD

  • "And then Captain Will Smith punched the alien and said 'Welcome to Earth.'" XD

  • They were gonna burn Nietzsche!

    Assholes!

  • Burn the vending machines!

  • man, don't get stuck in a disaster movie situation with those morons! Sheesh! that place was literally bursting with wood and they want to waste time on kindling?

Love the scene with the guy and the tax law books standing amongst dozens of wooden tables - LOL!

  • not a good movie, but it would be a fun movie to live through

  • 1) I did not say it was a bad movie.

    2) only the northern hemisphere seem affected by the disaster in the film

    3) Don't get me started about the 2012 nonsense

    4) in the last iceage, humans got the upper hand on the whole planet. we do well in ice ages compared to most animals

    5) is there anyone else doing world disaster movies?

  • "1) I did not say it was a bad movie."

    ---

Then let me do that for you mate - It's a bad movie. Seriously, it's awful. It's so unrealistic, I don't even know where to start.

"4) in the last iceage, humans got the upper hand on the whole planet. we do well in ice ages compared to most animals"

    ---

Other animals do better. Now that there's a climate catastrophe coming, we'll die like flies too because of what we caused ourselves - we (many of us, that is) will be out of food and water.

  • the population may get knocked down 99% and we will still be alive with enough manpower to last another 400,000 years. take an anthropology class. a virus, glacier, or fire can't make it to every corner of the earth and we are everywhere. face it: we will survive and in a sufficient number unless the primary gas changes away from oxygen. but otherwise if there is enough food and water to feed twenty thousand people on the Planet, we will be here

  • for real, i mean it started with just 2 people...if they survived back before jesus days, what do you think a couple people from our time could do?

  • hopefully not the gilled dude kevin kosner played in waterworld

  • That is nonsense. It didn't start with two people.

    Wait... are you from Kentucky?

  • What does Kentucky have to do with it? And it's not nonsense at all.

  • Based on your comment, I was assuming you were in the buckle of the Bible Belt, where Bronze Age myths still hold sway over science, observation, and generally the laws of Nature. However, if you were being sarcastic and I missed it, then I rescind my comment.

  • Well, I'm from nowhere near the Bible Belt. I'm not being sarcastic.

  • Aw :(

  • The comment still sticks then. You fail.

  • Oprah book list!! YES! burn them!

  • I would rather eat from a garbage can then a denny's

  • Did that librarian forget Darwin...?

  • "dont trip over the WOODEN CHAIRS" rotflmao

  • OAK TABLES!!

  • Bill:BURN THE VENDING MACHINES! LOL

  • "Oh Urkel."

  • he makes fun of movies, he doesn't compliment or play favorites. you could put up his wedding video and he will riff it all the same. comedians have that kind of humility

  • @butchdeadlift10 Gristle McThornbody

  • "Burn the vending machines!"

"Yep, plenty of books on those OAK tables."

  • Oh, Rifftrax are awesome. I'm going to have to get this one.

  • I hated this movie so I might have to get this one.

  • This movie is perfect for riffing.

  • burn the vendingmachines!!!

  • Hilarious! Thank goodness for RiffTrax. I went through years of withdrawls from MST3K. Oh, on that fateful day a year or so ago I found myself staring at the glory that is RiffTrax and I felt warmth pour back into my bones :)

  • I liked this movie, but that really bugged me-they are arguing over what books they're going to burn, meanwhile there is enough FURNITURE to keep them warm for days, maybe weeks,HEELLLOOOO!!!

  • RiffTrax can be hit and miss for me. I don't know, something is missing from the MST3K, though I can't place it.

    This one, however, is awesome.

  • Woot, burn books, burn books, burn books!

  • oh urkle!

  • Man, an Emmerich movie is like Bert I Gordon for these guys...

  • "Skip the parts with Jeff Goldblum" lol

  • LOL

  • Is someone wearing a lamp shade in 0:40? :)

  • This is an awesome rifftrax even without Mike. I highly recommend it.

  • Awwe, I like Mike.

  • Hey, I LOVE Mike.

  • I still have my suspicions that this movie was made specifically to be mocked, or because someone lost a bet, or something - I mean, seriously... oh & hooray for "WOODEN FURNITURE!"

  • As a book collector, without that commentary to assure me that others saw that stupidity I would have started twitching watching that scene.

  • Thank you so much for saying what I thought the SECOND I saw this damn scene. God this was a crappy movie...

  • I loled at the Will Smith bit. Because I know one day we will tell out children fairytales of the legend that is Will.

  • BURN THE VENDING MACHINES lmao

  • What I don't find funny is how they blatantly misrepresented Will Smith. He never said "Welcome to Earth."

    It was "Welcome to Earf."

  • The HOBO Denny's! LMAO

  • skip the parts with jeff goldblum! lolz

  • "Then Will Smith punched the alien and said 'welcome to earth.'"

    LOL

  • oh urkel lol

  • dont forget about high school musical and camp rock too!

  • Ugh, I hated this movie when we had to watch it in science class. Thank you for tearing it to shreds the way it ought to be.

  • lol, we had to watch it in our class too.

  • Seriously, there is absolutely NOTHING science related in this movie! Why do we watch it in science class?!

Further proof that science makes NO sense whatsoever (no offense to science or scientists).

  • What are your science teachers thinking when showing this? lol

  • We watched it in our computer class, but more like a break than as a case study.

  • "Plenty of books on those OAK TABLES"

  • "burn the furniture" lol

  • Best Sample Clip Yet!

  • lol 0:15

  • First view, yays!
