Um you do know that the ACs only fly fast when they are a NEXT or they are using the over boost function right ? the ACs fly but not very long unless they are energy efficient. and about the drag on ACs ( THEY DONT GO VERY FAST YOU KNOW, only when using over boost) alot of missions are inside so they wouldn't put a wind or drag function in the game . ( GUNDAM SUCKS, just saying) oh and NEXTs are different from the normal AC designs . and the military does not buy ACs
I dont think an AC could be possible because each of these ACs are very much custom made and no military is gonna pay so much for each soldier to have their own personal machine,at best maybe the weapons it carries but not the machine it self.Also yeah some gundams couldn't be possible unless there is just 1 since it cost tons to develope a military vehicle/weapon.I think we coule see an AC/MS type of machine but not really have it fly around shooting like 8 rail guns at once LOL.

I'm a big fan of the AC and if you don't know about AC mechs then learn, if you call yourself a mech fan. ACs Lynx/Ravens are awesome the new battle system is great.
one thing I liked about AC4 and For Answer, is that the AC they show in the beginning and on the cover, aren't bad Ac builds, in fact. Supplice is the #1 ranked Linx in 4 and White Glint is a legendary pilot in For Answer.
I'm sorry to say, but this anime is not likely to come out, although I've seen some manga adaptations of the Armored Core series, many sources seems to point out that there won't be an anime, since this trailer is about 3-5 years old I think, if I am wrong, let me know, because I would also like for an Armored Core anime to be released.
about BJ' AC... Cascade Ranger. yeah his AC symbolize you. the mascot AC of the game. i have tried built the AC and it sucks.
i have to change some of the weapons. left hand with nix (machine gun), right hand still the same python, the blade is the hanger, missile is the kinnara, rocket is the lighter one, and missile relation for the extension..
yet i still find it is very hard to beat all of the mission..
I hope they add more involvement in the story if they make AC5. AC has always left that element out and I hate it as I feel like I am fighting for no reason. I't be nice if you could have some kind of relationship system. Like if you get a choice to aid someone they will team up with you and send messages and kind care as it progress. this would add a lot and make good replay value.
I don't know, I think the story is best left to the imagination. Just because the game doesn't lay it all out for you doesn't mean it doesn't have a deep story to someone willing to read a bit more into it. I own and have beaten every AC game from the original AC to AC:4A and love the atmosphere and ambiguity of the games "story". But that's probably just me. But I do completely agree with your idea of actions and choices having a bigger effect on other aspects of the game.

Armored core has always had a second person narrative story, so I'm not sure how you could keep this in an anime, would lose some of the 'actual armored core feeling'

Thing is, if you put any gundam in it, then it's just Gundam all over again. The biggest differeance between AC and Gundam is that AC characters have no faces. And I think that that is one of the many reasons why so many people liked it so much. I know it's one of the things I loved about it. All the characters had plenty of personality and no faces.
In the cockpit scenes would be fine, but no faces or else its the exact same as Gundam.
Actually, I really always identified AC characters by their voice, so I guess I was always thinking something like "Their voice is face enough for them" Because the voice acting has always been just amazing in both Japanese and English for the AC games.

I actually thought the English Voices where better. I like how every character had a their own accent, that was one of my disappointments about LR, was that Evangel did not have his (Russian?) accent. But I think they did that to make him sound more serious, because in Nexus, he was a bit of a 'friendly rival' to the raven. But after he was expelled from the Ravens Ark, things changed.
Also, I don't think BJ was even in the story of LR... Was he? I know he was in the arena...
Did notice that he was more friendly in Nexus. In LR anyways, it's a free for all, and plus, you're opposing his ambitions. He does sound friendly when he's the final boss though,letting you go ahead while he holds the Pulverizer with his half dead Oracle (I should've stayed, I had 8000AP left).
BJ is in the story... well... he's the mascot. And when you finish the Zinaida or Super Pulverizer path (forgot which one, killed those 2 so many times...) , you get to see him as the LR in the credits.
If you look at the Flash "Our Earnest Wish" (Look in my favorites, its like the first one) Mist Crown made that Evangel scene look awesome!
Well technically BJ is not really a character 'in' the story, however I think that his AC appears at the end (as well as the cover boxart), to 'symbolize' you, not BJ himself.

I like to use a light weight bi-ped with the Karasawa, the orange laser blade (the one that has a powerful wave, not the first one, and not the fire blade), the Forward boost extensions, a blue orbit pod, and usually a hanger unit.
Yeah, whatever the name of that sweet gun is. Shame that it was toned down. Still, badass to use. It seems that you use the same arm weapon setup as me... elf 3 is your balde I think... Why do you use the booster extensions?? I find them pretty useless.
I prefer really light units. My unit goes at up to 347 Speed depending if I give it back units (I don't do it often). It uses the Rapid Fire EO core, Drone as head, the XS as arms, and the Dingo 2 as legs.
In Another Century Episode, Gundams pawn... An AC is stronger than the Average grunt units, but I don't think that they can overpower units such as Strike Freedom, Wing Zero, Or 00 Gundam. These 3 are some of the most powerful Real Suits created. Well, No AC beats Nu Gundam with Amuro Ray...
What might beat those suits are mass Produced Archangel Pulverizers from AC Last raven... :D

Well, you can immitate a pulzeriver to some extent. The problem is, controlling it. The Archangel type is simply unctrollable as it does not use booster, it rather moves freely around, same for the Aerial type. The Quad and Bipedal ones are possible though i think.
00 isn't that Imba... look at Striker Freedom... piloted by Jesus Yamato... Such the great Beam Spammer. Still, they're both nice mechs.
AC4 Units will be on par though i think with them.

If we compared the more realistic (i know it sounds weird just saying that) Gundam series' like 8th ms team, to AC, i'd say AC's would undoubtedly be victorious, but if we're talking G Gundam, GW, or GS, AC's would probably have trouble...but who knows? I like both.

against the like of the Gundam Ground Type, then maybe. But, if any ACs goes up to gundam like Wing Zero, Gundam Double X, God Gundam, Turn A Gundam, V2 Assault Buster, Nu Gundam, etc. there is no way that the ACs would win.
There is no need for the ACs to beat gundams. Technically, that piece of 60 ton junk metal (a gundam, lets say wing zero custom) can never break the sound barrier and will be torn into tatters by air because it's design is not even close to aero dynamic and doesn't support any aviation theories. Well, being an Ex-gundam fan; imo Gundam Ground Type are the most logical gundams i've seen so far.

@MechaDump and an AC loaded with shoulder ecm jammers, a grenade cannon that sticks out a good 30ft from his back, a missle pack shapped like a brick, a bazooka twice the size of his arms, and quite possibly having four legs is aerodynamic? i wouldnt make an argument about a mobile suits aerodynamics like that without taking into account what an AC's would be. i agree tho, ground combat gundam would defnitly be the most realistic/logical of the lot.
@MechaDump and there is also the fact that gundams can only be piloted by people with evolved or genetically enhanced dna whereas an AC can be piloted by anyone with the proper training so there are likely to be more AC's than Gundam's if they ever went to war.
@MechaDump Yeah, if the gundam couldn't fly at supersonic speeds because the drag created by the non-streamlined body and if the thrust power is not overpowering. But if they're transforming mobile suits like Macross Valkyrie fighters or the Wing Gundam and the 1st Wing Zero, then they can do that.

It is being based off of AC4. I'm not sure who is handling the mecha designs. Its either going to be Shoji Kawamori or Kazutaka Miyatake. Regardless, I'm very interested in the project.
the artstyle looks more like somthing the i.g. crew (see gits, blood and skullman) would do. its covered by aniplex tho. i hope they keep any cg to a minimum or atleast use cellshading. cg in 2d work always tends to look really tacky. speaking of tacky the artwork and style of characters in gundam seed is frikkn ooglay. its so horrendous that i was able to point out that they were the same ppl who did scryed which sucked just as bad. thank the gods for gundam 00 for saving gundam from the grave.
the anime is real, or at least the plans to make it. it was supposed to release back in spring, and it hasn't. aniplex made an anouncement about it. in addition to it having its own site and a commercial. i wonder if its been pushed back or canceled, either is likely.
that's gonna be real interesting seems like it's gonna have a gundam style storyline an i'm a gundam fan so that'll be great always luved the armored core games but my skill isn't up to par as yet
i dont know. ac's lack of any real story means the anime has all the space it wants, the only constraints being the mech style (they have to be ac's duh), and the ravens, who can go just about anywhere in a story.
it's hard to tell since there is no actual animation done yet. the character designs look pretty bad ass though. I'm glad they didn't go with the stereotypical huge eyes small face style that most anime series use. I like series like Ghost in the Shell where the characters are drawn more realistically. From what little is shown, this seems to be going in that direction in terms of character design.. well sort of.. either way, I perfer more realistic designs and this is looking good so far.
Armored Core had a great storyline entailing corporate oppression and the protagonist Raven VS the totalitarianism of a "world gone mad". Kind of like 1984, except in this case "Winston" wins...if you won the game :)
rather, it has a storyline with great potential. I dont think it has reached its pinnacle yet though, considering none of the games (up through LR and maybe AC4) were very story-driven.
I have yet to play AC4. I preferred AC3 because of its moderate skill level, but Last Raven had a really good story. Unofrtunately, AC4 doesn't seem too appealing to me, but I'll have to try it first.
The thing I like about the AC story line is that it is a very real possibility to live in a world like that, so i've always found the story appealing, even when I was in Gr5 and the first game came out :)
Heh, if you like AC at all, then you will definently like AC 4. Its very fast-paced and tons of new wepons. the only downside id AC4's very short story mode.Plus there is not as many possibylitys for an AC design that somone hasent already made up. But an exellent game.

Well some times I miss a laser blade, and to avoid being vulnerable Use the booster extensions to boost jolt skyward.
I use stinger's core, and the jaguar 2 (i think that's what its called) legs. And the ease arms(the lightest ones).

In Another Century Episode, Gundams pawn... An AC is stronger than the Average grunt units, but I don't think that they can overpower units such as Strike Freedom, Wing Zero, Or 00 Gundam. These 3 are some of the most powerful Real Suits created. Well, No AC beats Nu Gundam with Amuro Ray...
What might beat those suits are mass Produced Archangel Pulverizers from AC Last raven... :D

Well, you can immitate a pulzeriver to some extent. The problem is, controlling it. The Archangel type is simply unctrollable as it does not use booster, it rather moves freely around, same for the Aerial type. The Quad and Bipedal ones are possible though i think.
00 isn't that Imba... look at Striker Freedom... piloted by Jesus Yamato... Such the great Beam Spammer. Still, they're both nice mechs.
AC4 Units will be on par though i think with them.

i think but u guys thinks it will be stupid to do but the only way they make fort tower song is that u make people to tried to play the games (maybe it won't work).
if it doesn't work, just talk to ur friends or maybe someone else about it and show them the game "Armored Core" and let see what happen to them when they started to play it.
And after that, they will ask another person about the game.

for all of you that are wonderin there is no armored core anime there is the novel "Fort Tower Song" and the manga "Fort City Blade" but there is no anime currently in production unfortunately.

Seriously have ne of u morons even played the original armored core good god and no gundams aren't these god complex things basing everything on the original show is just dumb take into account if they were to mix the "gundam world" has never seen the likes of an AC and vis versa so technically theres really no telling who would win...

If we compared the more realistic (i know it sounds weird just saying that) Gundam series' like 8th ms team, to AC, i'd say AC's would undoubtedly be victorious, but if we're talking G Gundam, GW, or GS, AC's would probably have trouble...but who knows? I like both.

I've been hearing rumors that the 2-part OVA has either been canceled or has been put on hold indefinitely. However, the novel is most certainly out.

against the like of the Gundam Ground Type, then maybe. But, if any ACs goes up to gundam like Wing Zero, Gundam Double X, God Gundam, Turn A Gundam, V2 Assault Buster, Nu Gundam, etc. there is no way that the ACs would win.

There is no need for the ACs to beat gundams. Technically, that piece of 60 ton junk metal (a gundam, lets say wing zero custom) can never break the sound barrier and will be torn into tatters by air because it's design is not even close to aero dynamic and doesn't support any aviation theories. Well, being an Ex-gundam fan; imo Gundam Ground Type are the most logical gundams i've seen so far.

@MechaDump and an AC loaded with shoulder ecm jammers, a grenade cannon that sticks out a good 30ft from his back, a missle pack shapped like a brick, a bazooka twice the size of his arms, and quite possibly having four legs is aerodynamic? i wouldnt make an argument about a mobile suits aerodynamics like that without taking into account what an AC's would be. i agree tho, ground combat gundam would defnitly be the most realistic/logical of the lot.

@MechaDump and there is also the fact that gundams can only be piloted by people with evolved or genetically enhanced dna whereas an AC can be piloted by anyone with the proper training so there are likely to be more AC's than Gundam's if they ever went to war.

@MechaDump Yeah, if the gundam couldn't fly at supersonic speeds because the drag created by the non-streamlined body and if the thrust power is not overpowering. But if they're transforming mobile suits like Macross Valkyrie fighters or the Wing Gundam and the 1st Wing Zero, then they can do that.

I think this OVA's gonna follow up on the story of AC4, they left some things out, like:

WTF was the final GIGANTIC AC enemy, piloted by Joshua O'Brien, and YTF were there some attacks on the conoly where the main character lives? There's a bunch of other stuff i forgot too.

well if they keep to a story line like in AC4 wwhere the world is run by corporations rather than governments and stuff then it may turn out nicely if they as you say and I believe everyone else agrees they mainly keep to mech stuff and crazy ass weapons i.e.Karasawa/moonlight combo ftw!

It is being based off of AC4. I'm not sure who is handling the mecha designs. Its either going to be Shoji Kawamori or Kazutaka Miyatake. Regardless, I'm very interested in the project.

the artstyle looks more like somthing the i.g. crew (see gits, blood and skullman) would do. its covered by aniplex tho. i hope they keep any cg to a minimum or atleast use cellshading. cg in 2d work always tends to look really tacky. speaking of tacky the artwork and style of characters in gundam seed is frikkn ooglay. its so horrendous that i was able to point out that they were the same ppl who did scryed which sucked just as bad. thank the gods for gundam 00 for saving gundam from the grave.

the anime is real, or at least the plans to make it. it was supposed to release back in spring, and it hasn't. aniplex made an anouncement about it. in addition to it having its own site and a commercial. i wonder if its been pushed back or canceled, either is likely.

i dont know. ac's lack of any real story means the anime has all the space it wants, the only constraints being the mech style (they have to be ac's duh), and the ravens, who can go just about anywhere in a story.

it's hard to tell since there is no actual animation done yet. the character designs look pretty bad ass though. I'm glad they didn't go with the stereotypical huge eyes small face style that most anime series use. I like series like Ghost in the Shell where the characters are drawn more realistically. From what little is shown, this seems to be going in that direction in terms of character design.. well sort of.. either way, I perfer more realistic designs and this is looking good so far.

Armored Core had a great storyline entailing corporate oppression and the protagonist Raven VS the totalitarianism of a "world gone mad". Kind of like 1984, except in this case "Winston" wins...if you won the game :)

rather, it has a storyline with great potential. I dont think it has reached its pinnacle yet though, considering none of the games (up through LR and maybe AC4) were very story-driven.

I have yet to play AC4. I preferred AC3 because of its moderate skill level, but Last Raven had a really good story. Unofrtunately, AC4 doesn't seem too appealing to me, but I'll have to try it first.
The thing I like about the AC story line is that it is a very real possibility to live in a world like that, so i've always found the story appealing, even when I was in Gr5 and the first game came out :)

Heh, if you like AC at all, then you will definently like AC 4. Its very fast-paced and tons of new wepons. the only downside id AC4's very short story mode.Plus there is not as many possibylitys for an AC design that somone hasent already made up. But an exellent game.

Indeed. I think the story fleshed out by 3, Silent Line, Nexus, and Last Raven is the longest combined story between any AC games.
