the music distracts from the seriousness of your point. Any man that can't handle your hair is an ass. Our white sisters destroy their hair with coloring, and blow drying. I've been told more than once that straight hair suits me better. But they are going to have to cope with what God gave me. My hair is not an accident or random genetic mistake. When did it become MY responciblity to live up to other's wet dreams?
I see you're married now, good for you, & no hate intended w/ this comment I respect you, but maybe because you just weren't that attractive to a lot of men. Like Beyonce has females with afro-ish hair dancing w/ her & i'd talk to them in a second but if I saw you maybe not so much. Again, this in not an insult, you probably wouldn't want me talking to you anyways, but that's my stand on it.

@MRbossman1982 You're disgusting, and natural hair is very clean because many naturals wash their hair numerous tines a week unlike people with relaxers.

The "honkies" both womyn and men are the ones with problem.
.....contd.....That is not to infer that the men who prefer a different look are not educated. I'm just saying that black men who will approach a woman with a natural, are usually, independent thinkers who are capable of "thinking outside of the box," so to speak.....the "box" being the societal narrow minded view of beauty. They usually have great conversation and are intriguing people. My husband is the best man I've ever had. Stay true to yourself. He is out there for you.
brwnbarbie24 your hair is beautiful. I saw someone make this comment and I will pass it on to you. Not every black man has to love you, just the one God meant for you. I am a natural for a little over a year now and I agree with you, the amount of men "tryna holla" has decreased a bit but I am also married now, so I don't know if the wedding band has anything to do with it. One thing I do know, is that the ones who will approach you, typically have more substance and are educated. contd
I respect you alot. I'm black and I tell my girlfriend tht she looks good with her hair natural and she thinks she has to straighten it to look good. I showed her this video and now she totally change and has more self-esteem. Thnx!
@ smrglblf... nothing @ all better. Just have an opinion and sharing it. Been called an ass before. May be brash. Dont really care. Very sincere. Not broke. Love natural hair...sorry
@Cece0891 Yeah he did, and it's wasn't the matter of "caring" when I did this video but a matter of observation. If I truly cared what black men think, I would have straightened my hair once I realized I got more attention when it was straight. But thanks for your comment.
Hey girl, I think you may be frequenting the wrong places. I'm married but I have my brother and loads of male cousins and uncles seem to prefer natural hair. They're nice guys too: musicians, medical professionals, artists, students. They all positive young men. You're just meeting the few who aren't feeling natural hair. it'll get better.
Oh I love your hair!!! I m struggling with this currently. Your video just helped me realize why I have been flat ironing my hair. Now Ive met this wonderful guy and I want my natural texture back but..... today I just realized that he is not really feeling it..... Thanks for the video.

Those guys that don't like your hair are blind because what I see is volume and beautiful curls. I also like big hair myself and I've recently decided not to blow-dry and straighten my hair. School hasn't started yet but I'm interested to see the reception that I get. Either way, I LOVE MY HAIR! No man is going to change how I feel.
So I sent this vid link to my guy (he's black) he said you've got great hair. He loves it and wants me to do a hairstyle like that since you and I have about the same about of hair. LOL.
Your hair is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY nicer than some wannabe white girl bone straight weave hair. My black man loves my natural hair. The first 5 years I rocked braids and twists and the first time he saw my natural hair he was like "damn girl you have a lot of hair" Black men hating "nappy" hair hate themselves. You disrespect yourselves, your daughters, mothers, grandmothers, etc with that ignorant shit. My man won't let his daughter relax her hair and hers is to her waist now.
At the club, men do not care about hairstyle. All they care about is pussy-not your face, hair, or personality. The experience you had is not a good way to gauge who is truly attracted to you. Plus, yes its true, most black men prefer euro features but why even care about the number of men who approach you? If they don't like you with your real hair why would you care about gaining their approval? There are tons of men who don't give a hoot about hair texture in terms of attraction.
Interesting. It seems to be the opposite with me. I have been natural before and I got more attention and compliments than I ever did when I was relaxed. And this go around too, I get compliments almost every day. Where do you live? Maybe it has something to do with area, don't know. Don't know, but your video is interesting.
@CurlyKoki no it's not...I have freeform dreds and all kinds of fake assholes approach me. The fact that they like my hair or think I'm pretty regardless of my hair does not say anything about their character.
My wifey wears her hair natural and it is (as my grandmother used to call it) nappier than a sheeps ass. Big up to the SECURE sistas rockin natural beauty cuz god knew what he was doin when he made ur brown skin, thick lips, apple bottoms, and nappy (versatile, strong) hair!! For all u insecure, made-up, busted broads lookin to use brothas as a scapegoat......just perm ur hair out til u get ur mind right, then come home to sanity. ; )
I have noticed every since I have gone natural I get approached by men who are more genuine and realy care about me as a woman and as their other half. The men I have met in my one year of being natural have been understanding, caring, and somebody I woudn't mind coming home to every night. Just keeping it cool, confident, and sexy is working for me, and natural hair is the physical embodiment of that.

Yeah sometimes black ppl love to hate on each other but maybe it's a good thing that some of those other guys aren't approaching you. Look at it as a way to weed out the fakes with your Oh so real hair do. Because you rockin that hair. But the right one will come along in time. =)
I think that natural hair attracts a different kind of man in a positive way. I am absolutely loving my hair natural. My high school sweetheart (with whom I am not with) always has a negative comment. I ignore him because my self esteem and confidence won't let his negativity get through. But considering the fact that I don't ever PLAN to relax my hair again....I plan to keep doing me for ME.
When I heard what you say in that video, I feel sad for weak black men, they used to see weaves, wigs on black women hair. And for that I can say I really proud to be a black french girl from west indies. West indians men pay attention about natural hair, if you you to west indies, or places where west indian community is high (paris, london....) you gonna have success
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Grow up. Every dude does not want you. Not that cute...get over it. Dont blame brothers. We dont care...YOU do. admit it. Amber Rose rocks a bald head and is killin. Get a better attitude, dress better, cook better, fuck better, and gain the confidence that makes women attractive. Oh yeah and women seem to hate women so blame the REAL reason you are insecure about the REAL you...this is getting pathetic yall. 2010... lets get it together.
@brwnbarbie24 Right..... he/ she do need to grow up.... I totally agree what you said. Women do not need to have relaxed hair to look like more beautiful! And you, on the other hand, look beautiful with your hair!! IT IS REALLY PRETTY! ^_^ SO ignore the ignorance of JJJOOOHHHNNNLLL. He/she doesn't know the true aspects of confidence and beauty! You are who you are! God bless you!
@JJJOOOHHHNNNLLL : I really don't think you mean to really say that; You really need to think about everything you said. And others ARE to be blamed for! You don't necessarily need relaxed hair. True beauty comes from you heart whether it is right or wrong. From what I've read of your comment, I see that you have no respect for others, or for yourself. You also don't know if this woman is insecure or not! She is simply sharing her opinion! So let's get THAT together for 2010! God bless you!
Wow! That's crazy, In the states they trip over natural I know but I love both:) I want my hair to look like your though it's beautiful:), you are not looked at as beneath, That's crazy!
Wow. I absolutely love how full and fluffy your hair is! It's so voluminous and sexy! And the lighter highlights really match your complexion and look very natural, did the sun bleach it out or did you highlight it yourself, because no one would be able to tell either way! I wouldn't guess why on earth anyone wouldn't like your hair, big hair is BEAUTIFUL!
Omg your hair is gorgeous!! AND it's all yours!! I'm striving to get my hair to look something like yours. I went natural last year. I love love love my curls. I can't wait till my hair gets long like yours
Omg your hair is gorgeous!! AND it's all yours!! I'm striving to get my hair to look something like yours. I went natural last year. I love love love my curls. I can't wait till my hair gets long like yours
Dear sista. Ive been natural over ten years.I live in Harlem NYC. You kno who kicks it to me. The otha brothers Dominicans and puerto ricans. There have been some Italians and white guys too. Brothers got issues. Who give attitudes are sistas with dreads as if they're the hair authority on natural hair. If it's gonna be natural get dreadlocks. It's always ur own folks. Ur gorgeous! Do u!
Your hair is super beautiful! And if you are having problems and have curls cascading down your back, there is almost no hope for my sad little afro..seriously.
Sadly, natural hair that resembles yours is much more acceptable than a shorter afro. Oh well, grow long grow strong.
fuck them weak ass Niggas, i love a women with natural hair and i like to see the beede beeds that's sexy to me i need to feel the naps when i making love to a beautiful chocolate sexy baby ain't no perm could come close to that.
omg that is happen to me just last night. so i feel you i had a women walk into the back of a truck because she was staring at me so hard. but yeah men and women act the same way
Not only do I have natural hair, but, I NEVER PERMED ANY OF MY DAUGHTERS'(3) HAIR!! I taught them self love and I wanted their hair to be their decision-not society's warped perception of beauty.
i think the problem starts with women themselves...these guys grow up ALL their lives seeing their moms and sisters chemically alter their hair for "that look" and they subconsciouly become accustomed to that and associate that with a women's beauty. So in my opinion the way some men think about natural hair is a result of what women have been doing for so long. But a man that thinks for himself and not "status quo" definately sees the beauty when a sista goes natural.
@ebeledi Perhaps the moms and sisters that your speaking about chemically altered their hair back then because their men didn't like it (like they don't like it now) Women rarely do stuff to their hair that they think their man is not going to like which is why you see so many weaves walking around and why natural sisters have the problems that they do.
I'm with you 100% I've been natural for my whole life and almost every man i've dated wanted to see me with permed and pressed hair. It would be nice to have someone who could just appreciate me for appreciating myself!
After wearing my hair straight for about a wk., my boyfriend told me he preferred it curly. I loved hearing that. i have had guys who have told me that my hair looked better straight, or that my hair was too "poofy" or whatever. Do you, and be happy!
i feel that its taken way too serious!! i love my hair natural... and i do find that the TYPES of men who do come up to me are alot more stonger mentally and are more confident then the ones that used to appoch me...but i feel alot of them fear what there friends may say..or they are intemidated by the boldness of you in the look.. it takes a certin type of man to accept this...i think you will begain to notice the differance!
Have you ever thought, that maybe they were more attracted to your friend? Plenty of black men embrace natural hair! If you're hot, you're hot! I think you're reading too much into it!
dont blame brothers because women are brain washed into trying to look european. whilst the europeans are trying to look black. just be yourself luv needs 2 cum from within b4 it will really shine through.
You know, it doesn't surprise me that people don't embrace natural hair-that's how our society is in general. We don't embrace our natural bodies, we down play our natural abilities in favor of ones that are deemed "worthy", and, yes, we hate on our natural features by altering them. Whether it be by plastic surgery, chemical relaxers, or excessive, unhealthy exercising, we just can't seem to love ourselves (or others) as we were made. I think you're doing the best you can, tho, by loving you.
self hate! YES! this is exactly my point; how in the WORLD can you talk about my hair and if you don't get a brush to yours it's gonna end up waaaaaaaayyyyyy worse than mine! btw, your hair is gorgeous!!!
I really don't understand Black Men these days. They tell us women with weave that they dislike it & they like natural women, but once we take out our braids its a totally different story. I feel like my hair not only is beautiful it describes me, I where my hair in braids, constantly & I prefer my hair in that condition & I don't understand why you would get less action because your natural hair looks beautiful, no doubt.
This is so real. And this is so sad. Our brothas need to realize that they have been brainwashed! I recently did the big chop and growing my natural hair (again) and because I live in a very cultured area (d.c.) is widely accepted, but I'm sure outside of this area I'm sure naturalistas get a raised eyebrow. It's a shame that "the others" appreciate our trueness than our own male counters. Brwnbarbie24 keep doin' you honey, you'll attract the right one that knows the real deal.
I absolutely LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE your hair!!!!!!!!! I can not wait tilll mine grows because it's real curly like yours and I'm ready to wear it nice and big! I think it may depend on where you live. Where I live, I haven't been natural but I always wore half wigs that had really tight curls...one of them looks JUST like your hair. I always got head turns and men definately approached. I actually feel that they approached MORE when it was curly! I guess it depends where you are..but you're FABULOUS!
sweety i think you hair is nice wig or not .But I encourage you to go to MSKRISNEW chanell on youtube and look at her video on the word nappy...take care
I'm not really sure what someone else's video regarding the word nappy has to do with my vid so I need not watch it. My vid is regarding MY observation of black mend reaction to textured hair opposed to relaxed or straight hair.
I THINK THEY WANT U TO CHECK OUT THAT VID BECUS IT A REALLY GOOD VID ABT OUR P.O.Vz BOTH MALES AND FEMALES ALIKE...ITS REALLY GOOD...SHE ALSO HAS ONE ABT BLK MEN AND NATURAL HAIR...TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS...1YR NAPPY AND HAPPY!!!!!
Second off a real man with real taste should be able to apreciate how beautiful you are. It seems to me that your hair was done in good taste and its does depend on the men you want to appeal to.
For sure! Where you live definitely plays a roll. Along with the places you meet men and mostly the circle you associate yourself with. I lived in DC (chocolate city) and I had my pick of sexy men. However, there's a world of other issues with the men in DC. I live in Orlando now and let's just say that the men are different *cough* "WEAK!" *cough* excuse me...i had something in my throat. Natural hair can work for u depending on the type of man you like, we gotta keep that in mind too
It's so true, I think it depends on where you live also. i live in the UK and men over her are open to it all. I get approached way more now I have natural hair.
Men are a trip. my mother calls it the 'happy slave mentality." and since becoming a natural, i'm starting to believe it. why would you want me to be something other then who i am. When i get the negative comments from black men about my hair... i let them know that "it's ok, cuz that white man behind you thinks its gorgeous and wants to touch it!" LMAO! you should see their faces! :P
@SweetAzAlwayz... I have to say I agree 100000000% I've met a lot of white men that like it. White guy was playing with my hair in line at the post office I turned around and was like "you're not seriously touching me are you" LOL But it was funny.
im suprised. you are gorgeous! Chris' "good hair" and Barbara Walters response that we want to have caucasian features have me waiting patiently for my natural hair to grow out!
Thanks for making this video.

brwnbarbie24 your hair is beautiful. One thing I do know, is that the ones who will approach you, typically have more substance and are educated. contd

LOL.
prutyladyd07 1 year ago
Your hair is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY nicer than some wannabe white girl bone straight weave hair. My black man loves my natural hair. The first 5 years I rocked braids and twists and the first time he saw my natural hair he was like "damn girl you have a lot of hair" Black men hating "nappy" hair hate themselves. You disrespect yourselves, your daughters, mothers, grandmothers, etc with that ignorant shit. My man won't let his daughter relax her hair and hers is to her waist now.
prutyladyd07 1 year ago 2
At the club, men do not care about hairstyle. All they care about is pussy-not your face, hair, or personality. The experience you had is not a good way to gauge who is truly attracted to you. Plus, yes its true, most black men prefer euro features but why even care about the number of men who approach you? If they don't like you with your real hair why would you care about gaining their approval? There are tons of men who don't give a hoot about hair texture in terms of attraction.
GataAgressiva411 1 year ago 3
Interesting. It seems to be the opposite with me. I have been natural before and I got more attention and compliments than I ever did when I was relaxed. And this go around too, I get compliments almost every day. Where do you live? Maybe it has something to do with area, don't know. Don't know, but your video is interesting.

God bless you!

i think the problem starts with women themselves...these guys grow up ALL their lives seeing their moms and sisters chemically alter their hair for "that look" and they subconsciouly become accustomed to that and associate that with a women's beauty. So in my opinion the way some men think about natural hair is a result of what women have been doing for so long. But a man that thinks for himself and not "status quo" definately sees the beauty when a sista goes natural.
ebeledi 2 years ago 28
@ebeledi Perhaps the moms and sisters that your speaking about chemically altered their hair back then because their men didn't like it (like they don't like it now) Women rarely do stuff to their hair that they think their man is not going to like which is why you see so many weaves walking around and why natural sisters have the problems that they do.
TheSKYizFalling 1 year ago 2
I'm with you 100% I've been natural for my whole life and almost every man i've dated wanted to see me with permed and pressed hair. It would be nice to have someone who could just appreciate me for appreciating myself!

i feel that its taken way too serious!! i love my hair natural... and i do find that the TYPES of men who do come up to me are alot more stonger mentally and are more confident then the ones that used to appoch me...but i feel alot of them fear what there friends may say..or they are intemidated by the boldness of you in the look.. it takes a certin type of man to accept this...i think you will begain to notice the differance!
Apeezing2theEye 2 years ago 3

You know, it doesn't surprise me that people don't embrace natural hair-that's how our society is in general. We don't embrace our natural bodies, we down play our natural abilities in favor of ones that are deemed "worthy", and, yes, we hate on our natural features by altering them. Whether it be by plastic surgery, chemical relaxers, or excessive, unhealthy exercising, we just can't seem to love ourselves (or others) as we were made. I think you're doing the best you can, tho, by loving you.
alleycatfire 2 years ago
self hate! YES! this is exactly my point; how in the WORLD can you talk about my hair and if you don't get a brush to yours it's gonna end up waaaaaaaayyyyyy worse than mine! btw, your hair is gorgeous!!!
