CNET Review - Samsung Exclaim

This phone sucks. Had it for 2 months, it stopped charging so I sent it to Samsung to get it fixed and it took them a month to get it back to me and then the same thing happened 2 months later. So I gave up and got the LG Lotus, which lasted me over a year

I'm so absolutely tired of this phone. Being stuck with this for 2 years was hell. I have the data plan with unlimited texting... It texts fine, but I can't use it to do anything else, really. For example, the web browser SUCKS. It's horrible! I can barely get on a website without it saying there's not enough memory to handle it, and when I do, the website is unreadable. This phone doesn't handle viewing well. Just throw this phone in a fire.

i have this phone . its not bad but i frezzes on me and has little memory i had it for like 1 yr and ran out of memory. its not a bad phone ... it ok :D

personally, i would get the exclaim because the palm pre's touch screen is frustrating and whenever i try to call someone, there is an emergency button on the bottom and i always end up calling 911 by accident.. lol

The Samsung Exclaim is a great phone, I have one. My big pet peeve with the phone is the Fingerprint and Smudge marks on the phone are just horrible, I have never had anything that shows Fingerprints so much

If your not paying for internet connection on your plan, can you still use wifi hot spots for free? Or does it still cost you even if your just on wifi?

This phone doesnt have wifi. AT&t is starting to charge for internet regardless if the phone has wifi. Mainly because of complaints from people being charged for stuff using wifi. Its the users fault of course but at&t has decided its too confusing so they wont allow the wifi anymore. Sad to say I think all the carriers will be doing it eventually. So no more free wifi internet on your phone.

Yea I went to a Sprint store today and I was planning on getting the Samsung Moment, but unfortunately they force you to purchase the data plan even though it has Wi-Fi.

I ended up picking up this Exclaim instead, but I guess I'll change the phone once we decide to upgrade our plan.

Honestly, do not get the rumor 2. My friend had a rumor and I hated it so much! I am gonna get the exclaim soon, and I think you should too :). But if you dont like all that tv, games, music, gps navigation, and everything like that then might as well get the rumor. But I suggest th exclaim. And there are 3 colors in the exclaim: Pink, Blue, and White. But personally I love the pink!

The white is the same size as the blue and pink right? I was looking at phones on the sprint site and when changed the preview color of this one to white it seemed to change sizes. it's probly just the pictures sprint had but i wanted to make sure

Also you don't go by the pictures. It will list the length, width, and thickness of the phone in its information.

Well I like this one better. The Rumor 2 doesn't have a camcorder mode, while this one does. Also it doesn't heat up after 30 minutes. I don't really talk more than like 5-10 minutes so it doesn't effect me.

But the Rumor 2 will cost about $30 after mail in rebates, while the Exclaim will cost $80 after mail in rebates.

depends.. you can use the comcorder that only records for 10sec but then you can send it or you can use the camcorder that you can use for as long as you want

Both of the rumors have problems , They break easily .

The exclaim is probley a better choice if you drop your phone a lot , The key pads on the rumor 2 is hard to txt on .(:

It doesn't NEED internet. You just wont be able to access Myspace, Facebook, Google, etc. without buying a data plan or data pack add-on.

So if you want to be able to access your Myspace from the Sprint One-Click interface, you will need have a data plan/add-on.
