Ron Paul is a genuine patriot, which is why his statements are not always slicked and polished like Guliani's or Romney's. God forbid the mass audience and heckling moderators would actually have to acutally use their heads to understand that.

One - Saddam Hussein broke plenty of them, along with U.N. resolutions, if anyone cared...
And two - I'm sure some court in Munich or Tokyo could agree that the United States invading Germany and Japan, respectively, broke some 'international law'.
And BTW, why did we bother to declare war on Nazi Germany, when it was Japan that attacked us?
1-That is why Ron Paul wants out of organizations like NATO and the UN. Entangling alliances that don't have really authority or power to do anything constructive
2-We didnt invade Japan. Thats why Truman dropped the atomic bombs. Ended the war faster and saved the U.S. from the dangers of invading mainland Japan
We declared war on Germany because Germany declared first. We declared war on Japan who was allied with Germany. Then Germany declared war on us. We were just responding
We didn't invade Japan ONLY because we used the bomb to get them to surrender. If we hadn't invented the bomb, we would've fought all the way to Tokyo.
We declared war on Germany because it was part of the Axis powers allied with Japan - I don't think they declared war on us first.
Absolutely it was either bomb or fight to Tokyo (imagine that death toll there...). But in a war like that you pick your own troops over the enemy, civilian or military. Unfortunate but true.
Paraphrasing from Wikipedia (take that for what it's worth =) ): US declared war on Japan the day after Pearl Harbor (Dec 8) and on Germany on Dec 11. After Pearl Harbor, Hitler knew that the US couldn't stay out of the war and saw it as a way to bolster ties with Tojo and the Japanese Empire.
Only Congress can authorize force, or war - NOT the President. Congress saw all the intel and authorized force. No laws were broken.
In President Clinton's 1998 State of the Union address, on YouTube somewhere, he stated that Saddam Hussein spent the better part of the 1990's seeking and developing WMD's. He believed the intel so strongly that same year he signed the Iraqi Liberation Act which recommended regime change.
@joba606 Congress authorized this war through the Iraq Resolution which was an illegal transfer of power to the President. This literally granted the President the power to go to war without a Declaration. There isn't one realistic or fact-based reason cited in the resolution for justifying this illegal transfer of power. The Constitution requires a Declaration of War. Congress balked on its responsibility. Congressman Paul was one of 6 Republicans to vote AGAINST this resolution.
What about the hundreds of thousands of men and women of the US Armed Forces who are giving up their lives for something that is not true and cannot be legal in the eyes of the law? Should the US Armed Forces give their lives for the corporatocracy?
Given these set of facts, can we continue this imperialistic, hegemonistic policy of 'pre-emptive' war? I think that soon the American people will rise up and say, NO MORE! Troops will come home!
There's a reason why the IRA attacked Britain and not Luxembourg. There's a reason why Palestinians attack Israel. There's a reason why muslims attack America, and let me assure you, it has nothing to do with your so-called freedom.
this is the only american politician ive seen talk any sense in recent years you all need this guy for president your country might become great again instead of just corrupt and twisted which in turn as the most powerfull nation in the world is spreading your corruption to other nations or forcing it upon them
@JBBlitz ron paul is a dumbass??? in a nutshell, what ron paul is saying is that our foreign policy of being the world police has created all these hatered towards the u.s. Al qaeda movement was strengthened due to our foreign policy that intrudes iraq and iran gov't .how would you feel if china tries to intefere with our gov't? that will make more people in this country to hate china and revolt against china. what ron paul is saying stay out of foreign affairs and they will leave us alone..
@FTWINZOR corrupted? when was the last time a strict constitutionalist was in office? these puppets they throw in office are almost always corrupt before they go in, its just more obvious once they're in charge.
Ha, line of the century. Now that all the tea party folks are out in the streets demanding a return to constitutional policies, republicans fall all over themselves saying "back to the constitution! guiding principles!", but only a few short years ago, it's evident that their priorities lie elsewhere, namely, the industrial-military profit machine. I voted Obama, but if RP got the Republican nomination, I'd glad vote for him in 2012.
The look on Rudy's face is priceless. It's the look of a NWO apologist desperately hoping that the audience will remain brainwashed in spite of the unrelenting sound of truth and common sense.
I love how wallace tries to get the best of RP with the al qaeda marching orders. RP hits it out of the park, while the neo cons on the stage laugh in ignorance.
Those smug snickers in the backfround make it aboundantly clear that they have no clue or any inclination to try anything different to better our country. We need to stop policing the world and take care of America and still have the ability to strike anywhere in the world without putting 100,000 boots on the ground for 50 years to solve a problem
What is ironic is that the master plan of Ben laden was exactly to bog us down overseas, bankrupt our country and diminish our morale. We're doing exactly what he wanted us to do. So who is really taking marching order from al qaida?
Oh don't even think that these random groups of fundamentalist Muslims take their orders from Bin Laden. They're just pissed and it's classical blow bag. Al - CIAida was set up by USA to fight the Soviets, they radicalized the Muslims and no wonder it got out of control.
Just out of curiosity which of his views don't you believe in? To me he stands for liberty freedom and America. If you don't believe in those why are you an American? He's the ONLY choice we have to regain our civil liberties.
Every time I watch these videos Giuliani makes me sick. What a fraud. Ron Paul (or the equivalent, if there is one!) in 2012! (if there is an America in 2012.)
The only onest speaker that doesn't use rethoric to impress the public. He tells the things how they are, hits the point and treats people like brained human beings, not dumb tax-payers!
This is true respect, this is true responsability, this is the way to be a true representative of the people!
No rethoric, No empty words, No fear-mongering, No propaganda!
Learn how politics works before make arrogant statements and base your judgement on objective cryteria!
The bad news-the establishment(those in power)don't want Ron Paul.
The good news-Ron Paul's popularity can only grow.
It's ironic that in this day and age when I (an American) can freely speak to you(an Iranian?) in a world that's more interconnected than ever still live under morons who would have us kill each other.
As a Huckabee supporter, they were really unfair to Paul during the debates. I didn't agree with him on a few of issues, but the media really railroaded him. Love him or hate him, you always know where Ron Paul stands.
I believe the vast majority of Americans see the danger posed by the march to socialism and do not advocate it. Most of them see that it will only lead to collapse eventually and I think there are many more letters to congressmen opposing the bailouts and stimulus than advocating it. The problem is ordinary citizens' opinions don't matter near as much as the special interest groups'.
The majority of the ordinary citizens finish to vote the worste candidate every time. Because they are too ignorant to understand the mechanisms of the full process and respond too much to the communication strategies involving empty words and emotions instead of the onest speaking, posing you the nude facts and the real causes of events.
wow how ignorant can you be? The constitution provides for our current needs if we actually followed it. It is just uneducated people like you who vote these retards in that break down the constitution and then actually blame it instead of themselves for the problems that ensue. I've got an idea for you, quit listening to the socialist propaganda and actually read the constitution. You might just change your mind!
hey buddy if Romney and Huckabee said the same thing good for them, I honestly don't care they don't represent me. The problems in America today are not caused by the incompetence of the founding fathers or the constitution. They are caused by the incompetence of current politicians who stray from the constitution and its principles. You are on the wrong side of the fight. Getting angry and using foul language isn't going to help you get your point across either. It just makes you look fanatical
Majority is composed by people too ignotant to understand the full process and take a decision.
The proletarization of the middle class is the major contributing factor to the rise of so many false empty-words speakers, corporations-interests serving politicians.
Majority must be educated TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM PROPAGANDA before allowed to vote.
If u don't like our Constitution then move to another country & let me know how you like it. Why don't u try Mexico, Cuba, or Russia tell me about their quality of life & reduced freedoms. Our Constitution is designed to give maximum power & liberty to the people, no other country is like ours in the world.
Buddy, the violation of International Law that Ron Paul mentioned refers to the U.N. Resolutions that we invaded Iraq under. International Law states that a country can only attack another country in self defense or by a majority vote of the UN members. Pre-emptive War is not authorized. These rules were put in place after WWII, because 2 World Wars in one century was just too much. So not only was the war undeclared, Bush didn't even follow the rules of the U.N. Resolution.
I don't defend Russia's invasion. Its an agressive war just like the Iraq war. We don't have a moral basis as a nation to condemn Russia's invasion of Georgia when we go to war pre-emptively in Iraq and attack nations that have nothing to do with our national security such as the Kosovo war. Ron Paul actually discusses this in another YouTube clip. It is a Pre 2003 Iraq war interview.
I don't give a damn about the United Nations. They don't govern us. We are a Republic and, as such, are governed by a Constitution. My first move as President would be to withdraw from the UN and tell them to get lost.
What is dis-respectable act of "journalism". Trying to slander the one candidate that disagrees with the majority on stage by trying to twist his words and marginalize his opinions and beliefs as "crazy." This is almost as bad as the question "Mr. Paul, do you have any electability?" which was posed to him in another debate.
I loved that line too. What a stupid but funny line. Wallace is a f$cken moron. He doesn't even know that this war is totally unconstitutionally. How do we know that to be the case? Read the Constitution.
Ah yes! I loved that line too! It really did prove what kind of a useless news organization fox is with no credibility or true journalists. It also disproves their slogan "fair and balanced". What kind of line was that anyway?!?!? Ron Paul 2008!
Ha! So I'm guessing that you don't see the propaganda that Fox News and its "reporters" spew out 24/7. And I'm also guessing that you buy into the "Islamofascism" propaganda crap, too.
Fox News wants you to think that all Ron Paul supporters are 9/11 truthers, because 9/11 truthers are crazy (I agree with you on that), and they are trying to make all Ron Paul supporters seem crazy.
I'm gonna stop arguing now; I just ask of you to think about where the Republican Party is now, and where it was 40 years ago, back in the Barry Goldwater days. Ron Paul represents how the party was back in its days of small government, humble foreign policy, constituionality, and liberty.
Guys, stop blaming the media for ignoring Ron Paul, Hillary, Area 51, whatever. Media outlets are businesses, and they show things they think will make ad revenue. The Ron Paul contingent doesn't buy Head On or mutual funds or whatever they shill these days, so unless bullion sellers start advertising on CNN soon you'll never see more than cursory coverage of your guy. Sadly, people who buy things are more interested in looking at dehydrated babies getting hot bottled water than Ron Paul =(
When was the last time you saw an independent covered on a main stream media network. These companies totally ignore anyone but the two parties they favor most. This is probably to keep it easy for unintelligent Uh-Uh-Uhmericans like yourself that way you won't have to do any real research and can just pick from the choices that you're handed.
I heard Ron Paul each debate and made up my mind to disagree with him. He caught quite a bit of coverage even considering the numbers he was getting in the primaries. Again, how am I unintelligent because I have a different point of view? I'm not following how it makes me stupid to see things differently from you. I understand the media doesn't give proper coverage a lot of times to other canidates not from the left or right but a lot of times their views are supported by the mainstream.
Your point of view would lead this country and any country down a path to ruin. Ron Paul is running republican therefore he would have been covered at republican debates. Unless you're watching C-Span (and who does) you won't see any independent debates. Hell I bet you can't tell me the Independent front runner without looking it up. As for North's book, if the first pages of HIS book are full of hate spin about the enemy followed by courageous stories of soldiers it makes his book bullshit.
Well that is your opinion. Thats what makes this country so great, we both have two completley different views on how to go about this and are allowed to express it. I don't know about hate spin, its only like fifteen pages that talk about them and mostly its talking about who they are and what not. Like i said if you think a few pages cancels out the rest of the book of multiple stories of heroism and friends laying their lives down for each other I think thats very unfortunate.
Have you really ever read American Heroes or do you just know what its about? The first 30 pages are totally Anti-Islam and refer to it as a violent religion (not radical islam, but islam itself) as though its any different than christianity. The book has hate spin spewing from each page. His show is about war and how sweet your "Rambo" American troops are and how we're always a divine force (this is also known as propaganda). Also its not just Fox, all the networks are awful.
Just got done reading it last night actually. Yes the first 30 are about the enemy and their motivations in Ollie's view. The rest of the book is about him being embedded with the Marines and Soldiers and their stories. I never said our soldiers were "Rambo". Although maybe you should go read Lone Survivor and see how MOH recipient Lt. Michael Murphy and his guys fought. Or if you got past page 30 you would see all the examples of soldiers being shot and continue to fight to save their brothers.
the internet is the only free media outlet left. TV is all biased one way or another. do you think it's just completely random that people active on the internet vastly favor ron paul? it's because we're usually the best informed, and can get all kinds of information unbiased
Because people like you think the ONLY time war should happen is if were invaded. I'm not saying we should go help EVERYONE but there are certain times when we should help out, we are the only superpower in the world.

After Pearl Harbor, Hitler knew that the US couldn't stay out of the war and saw it as a way to bolster ties with Tojo and the Japanese Empire.
tikimanjim 1 year ago
Only Congress can authorize force, or war - NOT the President. Congress saw all the intel and authorized force. No laws were broken.
In President Clinton's 1998 State of the Union address, on YouTube somewhere, he stated that Saddam Hussein spent the better part of the 1990's seeking and developing WMD's. He believed the intel so strongly that same year he signed the Iraqi Liberation Act which recommended regime change.
All this before you ever HEARD of George W. Bush.

Congressman Paul:
CONGRESS. AUTHORIZED. FORCE. AGAINST. IRAQ.
joba606 1 year ago

ZachGorham44 3 years ago
The majority of the ordinary citizens finish to vote the worste candidate every time. Because they are too ignorant to understand the mechanisms of the full process and respond too much to the communication strategies involving empty words and emotions instead of the onest speaking, posing you the nude facts and the real causes of events.

ZachGorham44 3 years ago
Im ignorant?
Romney said the same thing. Huckabee said the same thing.
A Constitution is a piece of fucking paper and our fore father STATED when our government no longer works for us we should change it.
SO YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP.
whitecollarcriminal 3 years ago
hey buddy if Romney and Huckabee said the same thing good for them, I honestly don't care they don't represent me.
ZachGorham44 3 years ago
wrong. The problems aren't caused by the politicians. The problem is the PEOPLE.
Alot of people call their representatives right now to opposse the Stimulus.
But others.. like Teachers and unionized Americans call their representatives demanding they pass it.
the people themselves are at an impass but because there are more POOR than RICH, the POOR are pushing for the move to socialism.
The politicians are only doing what the people elected them for.
MAJORITY RULES !!!
whitecollarcriminal 3 years ago
Majority is composed by people too ignotant to understand the full process and take a decision.
The proletarization of the middle class is the major contributing factor to the rise of so many false empty-words speakers, corporations-interests serving politicians.
Majority must be educated TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM PROPAGANDA before allowed to vote.

I didnt know there was a law which says you cant free a country from a dictator.
States acknowledges by other free states are under the law,but states other free states doesnt acknowledge are not.
quezcatol 3 years ago
Buddy, the violation of International Law that Ron Paul mentioned refers to the U.N. Resolutions that we invaded Iraq under. International Law states that a country can only attack another country in self defense or by a majority vote of the UN members. Pre-emptive War is not authorized. These rules were put in place after WWII, because 2 World Wars in one century was just too much. So not only was the war undeclared, Bush didn't even follow the rules of the U.N. Resolution.
moybutter 3 years ago
Did Russia follow the U.N resolution when they invaded Georgia? no,but they voted against the Iraq war.
These nations doesnt care,Russia was buying cheaply oil from Saddam ofc they voted against the invasion.
And btw UN council is just based on the winners of WW2 thats just retarded.
Also states only acknowledge by other states might not be attacked.
quezcatol 3 years ago
I don't defend Russia's invasion. Its an agressive war just like the Iraq war. We don't have a moral basis as a nation to condemn Russia's invasion of Georgia when we go to war pre-emptively in Iraq and attack nations that have nothing to do with our national security such as the Kosovo war. Ron Paul actually discusses this in another YouTube clip. It is a Pre 2003 Iraq war interview.
moybutter 3 years ago
My point is that UN council is useless Russia was againt the Iraq war but see, they ould care a shit about it themselves.
Nor does China.
Fuck the UN council.

I don't give a damn about the United Nations. They don't govern us. We are a Republic and, as such, are governed by a Constitution. My first move as President would be to withdraw from the UN and tell them to get lost.

Sadly, people who buy things are more interested in looking at dehydrated babies getting hot bottled water than Ron Paul =(
achimvonarnim 3 years ago
When was the last time you saw an independent covered on a main stream media network. These companies totally ignore anyone but the two parties they favor most. This is probably to keep it easy for unintelligent Uh-Uh-Uhmericans like yourself that way you won't have to do any real research and can just pick from the choices that you're handed.
bsheller 3 years ago
I heard Ron Paul each debate and made up my mind to disagree with him. He caught quite a bit of coverage even considering the numbers he was getting in the primaries. Again, how am I unintelligent because I have a different point of view? I'm not following how it makes me stupid to see things differently from you. I understand the media doesn't give proper coverage a lot of times to other canidates not from the left or right but a lot of times their views are supported by the mainstream.
jcraider31 3 years ago
Your point of view would lead this country and any country down a path to ruin. Ron Paul is running republican therefore he would have been covered at republican debates. Unless you're watching C-Span (and who does) you won't see any independent debates. Hell I bet you can't tell me the Independent front runner without looking it up. As for North's book, if the first pages of HIS book are full of hate spin about the enemy followed by courageous stories of soldiers it makes his book bullshit.
bsheller 3 years ago
Well that is your opinion. Thats what makes this country so great, we both have two completley different views on how to go about this and are allowed to express it. I don't know about hate spin, its only like fifteen pages that talk about them and mostly its talking about who they are and what not. Like i said if you think a few pages cancels out the rest of the book of multiple stories of heroism and friends laying their lives down for each other I think thats very unfortunate.
jcraider31 3 years ago
Have you really ever read American Heroes or do you just know what its about? The first 30 pages are totally Anti-Islam and refer to it as a violent religion (not radical islam, but islam itself) as though its any different than christianity. The book has hate spin spewing from each page. His show is about war and how sweet your "Rambo" American troops are and how we're always a divine force (this is also known as propaganda). Also its not just Fox, all the networks are awful.
bsheller 3 years ago
Just got done reading it last night actually. Yes the first 30 are about the enemy and their motivations in Ollie's view. The rest of the book is about him being embedded with the Marines and Soldiers and their stories. I never said our soldiers were "Rambo". Although maybe you should go read Lone Survivor and see how MOH recipient Lt. Michael Murphy and his guys fought. Or if you got past page 30 you would see all the examples of soldiers being shot and continue to fight to save their brothers.
