That was a long enough race that you should have expected that outcome. The Speed Triple is heavier, less aerodynamic, and the 600 just carries itself a lot better up top. If top speed is your thing, don't buy a Speed Triple.

That sounded like a LONG race where wind resistance is tough for the street and speed triples with no wind protection. Over a standing start 1/4 mile drag race, that 600 wouldn't keep up with the Speed Triple.
What was the race:- 1/4 mile, top speed, or what? If its top speed your on a hiding to nothing with a naked bike. 1/4 mile I would have thought would be your best race....
