i think this beautiful little filly deserves some credit and love for her effort and not to mention putting her life on the line everytime she raced, nevermind the class or quality she raced against, but atleast give her love for she ran when they asked her.
We don't just Pepper here in NM,we have the little Mine That Bird,a horse who shocked the world! He also proved he was no fluke and watch for him soon in the West Virginia Derby!
ruffchamp is an idiot...ive never seen a Churchill,Belmont,Saratoga,Gulfstream,Fairgrounds,Santa Anita,Hollywood,Del Mar,etc claimer go 19 in a row. Whether jumping up or down in class, its never happened before bud. Face it, this is history and you can bad mouth it all you want. 19 for 19
she is an amazing horse i got the honor of seeing her race at sundland park racetrack and she is amazing i have her on vid on my phone i will never delete that shes awsome i hope they retire her because shes 5 years now and well shes already made the world records and she needs a break.
CONT-You said and I quote "race times shouldn't be compared...". Now tell me that is not a complete 180 from EG ran the fastest here, there ,and everywhere(you were in effect comparing him to Sunday Silence),concerning your opinion on EG you were comparing race times real and or imagined between the two. In other words you use one or the other opposite views depending on which one will help your view. For you to say race times shouldn't be compared, please thats all u have ever done!
I didn't say you felt final times meant nothing to Landeluce, your once again twisting my words. The point is simple, you base a horse's ability strictly on final times. You use a 1:38 & change mile as proof Pepper is a subpar horse. I illustrated clearly the folly of that view. You endlessly crow about how Easy Goer ran the fastest here, there and everywhere. Two concrete examples right there! On the Landeluce video, you in defending Ruffian(who by the way needs no defense period)said CONT-
who said final times meant nothing to landaluce, your friend isitingood69 was comparing ruffians' brilliant final times with landaluces' slower times over much faster cal. tracks..as for easy goer, he freaked every time out except the derby and ran brilliant times time after time after time..ppride runs slow times against restricted state bred $10k claimers, its about who shes running against, and thats slow restricted state bred $10k claimers..like you never bring up the bid or dr fagers times
la sorpresa has "class", ur hilarious..she has beaten nothing but restricted state bred $10k claimers her entire career..does anybody care about hallowed dreams streaking against louisiana breds-no, does anybody care about camareros' 56 straight wins against prican horses, or kincsems' 54 wins in a row against hungarian horses..her connections know she can dominate restricted state bred $10k claimers, thats for sure..racing is all about who u run against and placing horses in the right spot
ill be on here evrday for you patrolman be109..you dont seem to get through your thick new mexican cowboy brain that horse racing is all about who run against and where u place your horses and what level they fit with..she certainly can beat restricted state bred $10k claimers against the lowest level of horses throughout her career..and racing was dead in nm in 98' and slots are the only reason there is racing in nm..even w/ slots, its 5th class racing with ZERO graded stakes the whole year
Someone needs to study a little more before he goes around making comments. It is very obvious he doesn't understand how races are run, judging by his blind adherence to just final times. Besides,he has been on both sides of this issue, saying final times showed Easy goers greatness(he was one heckuva horse by the way),and that they meant nothing when it came to Landeluce. Just like the QH issue,he is all over the map. Just keep yapping, your digging yourself a deeper, and deeper hole.
CONT- Pepper finished the mile in 1:38 & change. In order for her to have a "fast" time she would have had to run the final 1/4 in 22&change(thats assuming you consider 1:35 fast,if your thinking 1:34 we are now talking a 21 final 1/4,not very likely, not even Dr. Fager could do that) Remember the early fractions dictate the final time, which means time isn't always a marker for class. Remember they went 1:13 before before the real running started,if they would have went 1:10-1:38,I would worry
Well casino gambling isn't going away, and therefore you are just making way too much out of nothing. In other words get over it. As for the comments saying she beat nothing but low level horses in a slow time. "Nothing low level horses" you say, well they have more damn class than you will ever have,as far as a slow time, well once again you cannot comprehend pace in a race. Read very carefully here, the early leader ran a 1/4 in 24 & change,1/2 in 48 &change,3/4 in 1:13 &change.CONT-
she is handled by horsemen who wont run her against anything but restricted state bred $10k claimers over bull rings when she deserves the chance to run against top level open competition..they know what she can beat..and thats ZERO quality horses like la sorpresa..many state breds like best pal, tiznow, funny cide, commentator, etc.. could have dominated restricted state bred $10k claimers if they didnt run against top level open competition

Pepper has done it again,on 11-09-2008 she went out and won a stakes race for mares and fillys worth almost $180,000. She just keeps hitting the wire first, and whether some care to admit it or not she is a perfect racehorse,18 for 18. Think about it, it is the impossible dream come true, every breeder, owner, trainer dreams of getting one like her. They know they do not grow on trees, and they appreciate them like no other. Thats love of horses and racing no matter where they run.
Let me correct someone on something. SLOTS= a booming state bred program, huge amounts of purse money,a rapidly improving core of breeding stock, both studs and mares.Owners of state breds who get rewarded by the multitude of NM bred races. Thats what slots have done for the racing industry in NM.
Someone is wailing SUNLAND PARK??????. Well its all about $19 MILLION DOLLARS IN PURSE MONEY FOR THE 08-09 WINTER MEET. ZIA GAVE OUT $2 MILLION IN PURSES ON 11-9-08! Sounds like 4th or 5th class racing huh? So what if we have slots,it seems some have an aversion to casino slots, get over it. We may not be 1st class racing, but we have some pretty good racing out here, and the purse money is excellent by the way. Remember $19 million, and $2 million in ONE DAY. Sounds good to me.
Once again someone on here is trying to say I'm comparing NY racing to NM racing. I have said before CLEARLY on other videos that I am in no way trying to compare the two. This person has attacked NM and the whole western USA as crappy 4th and now 5th class racing. I have only defended my state's racing program. So now we have 3 horses who are unworthy of praise,Peppers Pride,Camarero,Kincsem. Just keep yapping buffoon, before you know it you'll have ticked off the entire racing world. I doubt you could identify a good horse, even if went up and kicked you in the can. Good try,but once again just not good enough. Better get back to your reading material to find some more horses to denigrate. There has to be more out there for you to talk about, heck you have went back decades already.
Funny it seems someone stumbled on some info recently. Yes what Camarero(and the other horse)did is correct, funny after all this time it is finally brought up,strange isn't it. But I was talking about the North American consecutive win streak. As far as they are concerned their deeds are very impressive,no doubt. Yet they get their names dragged thru the mud, just like Pepper. someone trys to insinuate that I told a none truth, and once again that someone goes on to destroy their point.
Patrolman be109 of youtube, what ru talking about..Camerero won 56 races in a row, and Kincsem(im not sure of the spelling) won 54 races in a row..so keep using your CAPS..and nobody talks about camereros' 56 in a row,why?-because it was against much lesser competition..nobody talks about kincesms' 54 wins in a row-why?, because it also was against much lesser..same thing w/ ppride..i would love to hear about the great cigars' streak, immortal citations',the great buckpassers',and mr frisky
rain man patrolman of youtube be109, u should get over it..u said u were not going to respond to my comments, loloololololool..u cant help yourself, so u should get over it..racing in nm was dead in 1998 and in 99' slots saved racing in nm, w/o slots there is would be no racing in nm. even with slots, nm has ZERO graded stakes races and is 5th class racing..u still dont want to talk about the great cigar, citation, buckpasser or mr frisky..she deserves to run against horses other than restricted
lololololo...i have to crack up, lol she ran against restricted state bred competition..if she ran against zenyatta, music note , ginger punch, proud spell her streak would be zero and a capital ZERO and u know it.she deserves the chance to run against open and u know that.shes running against a class of horses who are $10k claimers at churchill or belmont or santa anita and thats at best.many, many horses who ran against restricted state breds would have streaks, racing is all about who u run with
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
In addition someone on here seems to know a helluva lot about what Pepper's owner knows. That someone knows why they won't do this, that ,and the other with the horse. Get over it,that someone can't handle the fact that a horse from out west did something that he/she thinks their horses should have had done as some sort of birthright. So what if she's no Cigar,so what! I'll what she is,she's the FIRST HORSE TO EVER WIN 17 RACES IN A ROW,AND SHE HAS ONLY RAN 17 TIMES. THATS CALLED PERFECTION!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Peppers Pride's achievement is monumental because, and I'll write this in caps so everyone understands this,NO ONE WON 17 RACES IN A ROW UNTIL SHE DID IT,MISTER FRISKY,CIGAR,AND CITATION ONLY WON 16. THAT SHOULD ILLUSTRATE HOW IMPRESSIVE WHAT HER ACCOMPLISHMENT IS. I AM IN NO WAY INFERRING SHE IS A BETTER RACEHORSE THAN THEM. WHAT SHE HAS DONE IS SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE,THAT IS MONUMENTAL,THE FIRST EVER. As far as the word buffoon,if the shoe fits, you might as well wear it!!
patrolman be109 of youtube..lets talk about the great monumental achievement of the great cigar who went all over the world to beat top level competition,or the monumental achievement of the great buckpasser,or the immortal citation,or the great story and monumental achievement of mister frisky who actuall tried top open level competition
patrolman of youtube be109, now im a baffoon..well, im glad u enjoy $5,000 claimers and restricted state breds, thats fine-i certainly respect every horse(as they all are noble, noble athletes who give their lives out there)..her owner knows she can only beat restricted state breds thats why he never ran her in open company..unheard of, to not run a horse in open company after dominating restricted state breds..imagine of some champion state breds of the past never ran in open top level races
I love watching all levels of racing, from Grade 1's to $5,000 claimers. Its all about the horse, and doing what they were bred to do. Class is demonstrated by many horses everyday in every state and every country. The racehorse is a most noble creature, and thats why I've invested my life into it. Some people do not get that evidently.
Any State bred throughout the country who wins state bred restricted races over state bred rstricted competetion deserves to try open company and u know that..any state bred, whethers its a ny bred, cal bred or 4th class nm bred..any state bred..the reason they wont run her in open co. is because her owner an trainer know what she can compete against..28 ny breds won open stakes races this year in the u.s..nm racing is dead w/o slots and u know it
The difference between me and you ruffchamp is simple, I love the racehorse,no matter where he/she races. You only think horses who run in NY are worthy. The amount of graded SW's is a small percentage of the horse population(roughly 2-3% are graded stakeswinners),I'm for all of them right down to all the hard knockin blue collar runners all over the world. WithoutTHEM you wouldn't be able to sit and watch all those great racehorses you have claimed to have watched. Remember that Ruffchamp!
Ruffchamp, what do you think people will think of you after they read all those vulgar comments on the Landeluce video? Do you really want to carry on this discussion?
Finally Ruffchamp, whether you want to except it or not,Peppers Pride has done something no other horse in North American history has ever, repeat ever done. That is to go out and start 17 races lifetime and win every single race. You can wail about how she just ran in NM,blah, blah, blah, but buddy she has done something none of your GREAT GRADE 1 NY RACING GODS has ever done. Just remember she is a NM bred horse, and to me it was an honor to watch her run. Put that in your pipe and smoke it buddy.
CONT: Since when did you become her owner? You can't accept the simple fact that there are some good horses outside your beloved NY. Once again you keep hinting that I'm comparing racing in NM to NY. That is not what I've been doing, you constantly go out of your way to denigrate me,my state, and our racing program. My responses were in defense of NM racing and the many people who work in it.NM may not be at the level of NY racing, but mister it is a lot better than you give it credit for.
Ruffchamp you say I want you on here, well you have been on here. Why else would I get so many numerous negative thumbs down. Do you really think I'm that naive. Anyone who wants to know what you really think about Pepper and the entire racing industry outside of New York state, all they have to do is go on the Sunday Silence/Easy Goer videos, primarily the 89 BC Classic by Dworkma. There they will see what you really are. Finally Ruffchamp u say she deserves to run in open company,etc-CONT
She is absolutely amazing! She deserves to be called the filly of the century! She has to be pretty amazing in order to beat Cigars record and Citations!
lol..since u want me to comment on here be109 rain man patrolman of youtube, then i will..without slots, new mexico racing would be dead and long gone and you know it. so keep playing those vlt machines..even with slots,nm racing isnt even in the same hemisphere as top class racing in new york and u know that as well..as for ppride, she deserves to run in open co. stakes races, not restricted state bred races..when a state bred dominates they try open co. top level stake races and u know that too
I made a couple of comments 2 weeks ago. My comments were to praise Pepper and her state and my state,New Mexico. I find it distasteful to see negative comments attached to mine. I think I know who did it,but that person doesn't have much class anyways. He thinks shes a joke because she hasn't run anywhere except NM,and on and on and on. Well I know you will read this,so come on here and continue to make a fool of yourself. Go ahead and make one of your foolish comments.
Can I ask where you got some of these pictures. my son is in one of them and i would like to get one. oh my husband is the jockey of pepper. This is so awesome!!! I will let the Joel know he is have a disk made of all her races.
I just got the pictures from google and if I remember right a few from the Final turn gallery. When I web searched Peppers pride a few of the websites had these pictures. That's very neat that you are connected with Pepper! If you are able give her a pet for me! She sure is amazing!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm involved with breeding, raising, and racing horses here in New Mexico. Please give my heartfelt congradulations to your husband. It must be a rare honor to ride such a mare.
Cont- Our purse structure is very healthy overall(though some improvement is still needed),all though Pepper is obviously way above the norm, she isn't the only quality horse in this area. Remember this,a good horse can come from anywhere, and thats the beauty of this wonderful sport. Once again to all the detractors , go ahead and knock this wonderful RACEMARE,if you do,you will ensure your rep as a Pure D Grade 1 Idiot,go ahead I dare you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do agree,NM is getting into the TB world and letting lose some very nice and talented horses. It's nice to see Peppers Pride come from NM and get this attention. She sure deserves it!
Being from New Mexico, and being involved in breeding and racing NM bred horses, this lets me know we are producing some very nice horses, both TB's and QH's. Up to this point we have been known for our QH racing (like the All American Futurity G1,the 1st million dollar race in the world),but over the last 10 to 15 years we have developed a real nice state bred program. We have been able to attract better and better studs, and most importantly we have been constantly improving our mares Cont-
wow, what an incredible horse, and an even better looker! I did not know about her until the april edition of the thoroughbred times when they talked about 16 straight wins.I looked her up every day since then. I love her! She should always be remembered as a great champion! 1 word, four syllables UN-DE-FEA-TED
Nice video. I am always glad to find someone else who is appreciative of Peppers Pride's accomplishments; it's so annoying when people try to discount her record. It's hard to win that many in a row, regardless of the competition. So she's no Cigar--- she doesn't have to be---being Peppers Pride is enough.
Very true. Peppers Pride is one hell of a horse,it's good to see she has a fan base and people who really understand what an achievement it is to win 17 races in a row.
No one who loves racing could fail to appreciate her accomplishments. She is a great story, a wonderful racehorse who is handled by good horsemen. 18 wins is 18 wins. Cigar, et. al., took their shots at more than 17 and couldn't close the deal. She did...with style. And 18 looked easy also. As you say...she's no Cigar, but then Cigar was not the win machine that Pepper's Pride is. I hope she racks up a few more before she retires and really puts it out of reach.
Couldn't agree more,The point,"No one who loves racing could fail to appreciate her accomplishments" has been my #1 point the whole time, some just can't comprehend it and thats too bad for them.
I hate it when people say Peppers isn't deserving. She has won 17 straight! It's hard enough for a horse to win 4 or 5 straight but 17! That's awesome! Cool video for her. She's a very special mare and she's pretty! :)

But I was talking about the North American consecutive win streak. As far as they are concerned their deeds are very impressive,no doubt. Yet they get their names dragged thru the mud, just like Pepper. someone trys to insinuate that I told a none truth, and once again that someone goes on to destroy their point.

Patrolman be109 of youtube, what ru talking about..Camerero won 56 races in a row, and Kincsem(im not sure of the spelling) won 54 races in a row..so keep using your CAPS..and nobody talks about camereros' 56 in a row,why?-because it was against much lesser competition..nobody talks about kincesms' 54 wins in a row-why?, because it also was against much lesser..same thing w/ ppride..i would love to hear about the great cigars' streak, immortal citations',the great buckpassers',and mr frisky
ruffchamp1 3 years ago
rain man patrolman of youtube be109, u should get over it..u said u were not going to respond to my comments, loloololololool..u cant help yourself, so u should get over it..racing in nm was dead in 1998 and in 99' slots saved racing in nm, w/o slots there is would be no racing in nm. even with slots, nm has ZERO graded stakes races and is 5th class racing..u still dont want to talk about the great cigar, citation, buckpasser or mr frisky..she deserves to run against horses other than restricted
ruffchamp1 3 years ago 2
lololololo...i have to crack up, lol she ran against restricted state bred competition..if she ran against zenyatta, music note , ginger punch, proud spell her streak would be zero and a capital ZERO and u know it.she deserves the chance to run against open and u know that.shes running against a class of horses who are $10k claimers at churchill or belmont or santa anita and thats at best.many, many horses who ran against restricted state breds would have streaks, racing is all about who u run with

BE109 3 years ago
patrolman be109 of youtube..lets talk about the great monumental achievement of the great cigar who went all over the world to beat top level competition,or the monumental achievement of the great buckpasser,or the immortal citation,or the great story and monumental achievement of mister frisky who actuall tried top open level competition
ruffchamp1 3 years ago
patrolman of youtube be109, now im a baffoon..well, im glad u enjoy $5,000 claimers and restricted state breds, thats fine-i certainly respect every horse(as they all are noble, noble athletes who give their lives out there)..her owner knows she can only beat restricted state breds thats why he never ran her in open company..unheard of, to not run a horse in open company after dominating restricted state breds..imagine of some champion state breds of the past never ran in open top level races

I just got the pictures from google and if I remember right a few from the Final turn gallery. When I web searched Peppers pride a few of the websites had these pictures. That's very neat that you are connected with Pepper! If you are able give her a pet for me! She sure is amazing!

So she's no Cigar--- she doesn't have to be---being Peppers Pride is enough.
gallantbloom 3 years ago 2

I hate it when people say Peppers isn't deserving. She has won 17 straight! It's hard enough for a horse to win 4 or 5 straight but 17! That's awesome! Cool video for her. She's a very special mare and she's pretty! :)
