5.98 is pretty quick considering there was hardly a moment passed half throttle. Not a very effective platform for a drag vehicle, but definitely different.
@overbored383 this coming from a douchebag toughguy over the internet. I don't understand why some people have to find something to bitch about. overbored383, do us all a favor and wrap your lips around the tailpipe of your '383' and inhale.
Great truck you guys, love seeing someone trying to make a 4x4 stick and hook!!! Cant wait to see you guys running hard this year, keep the vids coming!!! Oh, cer002 should go back to needlework and his AMC Pacer cuz thats probably the only thing he has mobile besides his trailer!!!!! You could probably make up the 2 min 22 secs if you quit bangin your fathers daughters
does anyone remember a truck called the dreamweaver it was used a lot on the salt flats i cant remember if it was a d-50 or an s-10 what i do remember it was fast.
you are right it did take awhile to get lined up . We was having all kinds of problems that day . We was just trying to make a pass of any kind for the crowd . It was a slow one and at part throttle . Crowd just wanted to see us go from point a to point b . Thanks for posting , Bobby
Yes, you do have issues- clearly, since you say "they don't work so well". The reason you don't see more of them is because they're not necessary. That motor would typically go in an elongated funny car or drag car. For a stock length SWB truck like that, I'd say the 4WD did quite a bit to help it get down the track. I guess in your mind AWD cars don't have an advantage off the line, right?
@Tboninator It doesn't have the advantage of heating up the slicks like the RWD cars. When you're on a narrow tire with an estimated 3000hp (source: HotRod Mag, I believe it's running an overdriven 14-71 on methanol), not heating the tires effectively makes a huge difference in hooking. Other RWD cars in its class are running a tad quicker and much more consistent, but this truck is my favorite to see run by miles. Awesome Truck!
Yes we was way out of the groove . We knew we were not gonna leave hard or make a hard hit . We just wanted to get down the track . Earlier that day we broke three mid-shafts in the truck and the crowd was really wanting to see us make any kind of pass we could. Thanks everyone , Bobby and Lisa

I think the front tires touching and lifting is what causes it to jump back and forth and as cmason87 said, lining up out of the groove. Very cool truck though.

some people say taking a 4x4 sideways on a drag strip is a fail. I say those people don't know what torque is.

should try to put dual tranfercases in it so you can do fron and back burnouts to get the tires sticky
garrettpollard54 10 months ago
dude its because 4 x 4 isnt for roads and they need to flame blast that strip clean for better grip
chamblizi 1 year ago
that truck is a piece of shit is almost undriveable and the 4x4 does not help it too much

all that walking around and lining up for that? cool truck, but they are acting like its a funny car, even they line up faster.
dcrsx40 2 years ago
It's an insanely high horsepower 4 wheel drive drag truck- with drag slicks at all 4 corners it's still having trouble hooking up.
If that's not impressive and you don't understand what "that" is, then you have issues.
Tboninator 2 years ago
@Tboninator I dont have issues, maybe there is a reason you dont see more 4 wheeled slick drag trucks. They dont work so well.
