  • I was 8 when i saw this scene now i m 18 and i Still watch it with the same feeling . Lord of rings . BEST trilogy Ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NO froto DONT GIVE IN!, NOT NOW!....aww so sad :'-(

  • 5 of dark lords dislikes the video lol

  • 1:58 Lol, that's what my girlfriend says everytime she sees some other girl getting close to me :P

  • this is my favourite scene in the entire trilogy perfect music, perfectly shot, well acted and the wring wraiths are far scarier on horses than the nazgul

  • The only problem with this fantastic film series is that Arwen was not in it enough. She was my first crush.

  • 1:00 does anyone else hear the horse "O MY GOD!"

I've heard this for the longest time whenever I watch this movie lol just thought I'd point it out

  • 1:04 this reminds me of the time I was being chased by the black riders and then I JUST CHUNDERED EVERYWAH!

  • I dont think that anyone else looks as much like an elf like liv tyler.

  • I want to dance with my grandmother!

  • 2:25 Titan's toilet flush...

  • Huh, I came here expecting a completely different video...

  • There is just nothing hotter than Liv speaking Elvish. Love it.

  • i love this scene

  • @WASQEHTN does that mean that you're in love

  • @MrStoudemire11 eat shit and die

  • @MrStoudemire11 i fuck your mother

  • @WASQEHTN hmm so you're in love haha you're a jealous lover boy

  • @MrStoudemire11 lol UMAD

  • I thought she said " not on your last breath" to the ring wraith.

  • Waterparks need a ride called "The Arwen". Loads of fun but a good chance you might die.

  • Wait... How did they get back in te forest? They were on a plain! 1:15

  • "IF YOU WANT HIM COME AND CLAIM HIM!" my favorite line from all three movies combined!!! Arwen is my fav character!

  • Lucky guy that Frodo. (rs)

  • Your description of this vid is perfect.

    Wweee~~~

Couldn't have put it better myself :)

  • Arwen... beautiful, elegent, brilliant, amazing, gentle, caring, strong... I love elves so much.

  • at 2:23 its like thinking oh shit its really worked:P

  • i love horses!

  • I used to have a big crush on Arwen as a kid.

  • why do these stupid ringwraiths don't just run back no they run to where the wave is going how smart...

  • i love you liv

  • Love this scene

  • ''I'm gonna wash that Wraith right outa my hair''

  • @TehGoz I am thinking Andalusian or Orlov they both have a great body structure for parading stuff and running scenes in movies. Quarter horse though? I wouldn't place a bet on it. I mean it might be but I'm not really seeing it's characteristics so much as the otter breed.

  • Arwen: "Horse, run faster! They are gaining on us!!"

Horse: "WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE I AM DOING, DAMMIT!!"

  • "Noro lim, Asfaloth!"

This scene makes me wanna put on my hoodie, grab a sword, and ride a horse through the forest.

  • @TheChainsawArtist Yeah, me too. So I put on my hoodie, grabbed a mop and spinned in my chair ^_^

  • @44kpo Et tu n'as pas peur qu'on se moque d'elle à l'école ?

  • Cool, at 2:15 you can see part of his face. Well at least you see that he has a beard

  • Nîn o Chithaeglir, lasto beth daer, Rimmo nˆn Bruinen dan in Ulaer!

    Neen oh Hee-THIGH-gleer, LAHST-oh behth dire, REE-moh neen Broo-ih-nen dahn een oo-LIRE

Waters of the Misty Mountains, listen to the great word, flow waters of Loudwater against the Ringwraiths!

  • lol suckers

  • She says Noro lim, Asfaloth which means ride fast Asfaloth

  • There are so many epic scenes that make Lotr the movie it is, this is definitely one them, Enough said)

  • what does she say at 1:10? what does it mean?

  • @feltetteluvtomfelton I have no idea but I bet it means Ride! and then she says the name of her horse.

  • @feltetteluvtomfelton She says: "Faster, Asfaloth!" (her horse's name)

  • Sacrilege, it was Glorfindel!

  • there is actually a book on learning to talk elvish

  • aniretak avodjeh

  • You sure thats not an andulusian horse..? Dont look like a quarter horse to me...

  • I'm sorry Replay Button....

    I'll pay for the damages

    Sincerely, Obsessed LOTR fan

  • holy wowan

  • I found Arwen to be so sexy when she draws her sword and say's "If you want him come and claim him"Soooo HOT (lol) thumbs up if you agree

  • @THECOMICBOOKGEEK86 I hope Aragorn doesnt read this. For your sake!

  • @THECOMICBOOKGEEK86 fuck man lucky Frodo lucky horse!

  • Could make you want to learn Welsh (Elvish is a dialect of Welsh)

  • I want to name my daughter Arwen so bad. But I'm afraid I'l get made fun of for it.

  • @BabyBelleLuna You name your daughter whatever you like. No one will make fun of you.

  • @BabyBelleLuna but they would make fun of her, dont name your daughter after a LOTR characte, name her Liv if you want.

  • @BabyBelleLuna I think that's a pretty safe bet. why don't you look up the meaning in elvish (some of them do mean things (so I'm told) and find the english equivelent (or welsh/celtic etc)

  • LOVE this scene, horses are such amazing creatures beautiful and powerful, magestic and so full of spirit :O

  • This movie would be over alot sooner if one of the Nazgul had a croossbow,

  • Does anyone know which song in the soundtrack is at the end, from around 3:00 to the end? Thanks!

This is a great scene. Love all 3 movies, and books.

  • Notice there are only 8 Wraiths?

The Witch-King of Angmar was not present.

Perhaps things would have turned out differently had he been?

  • It's a brilliant chase in the film, although it happens differently in the book

It was Glorfindel of Rivendell, not Arwen who finds aragorn and the hobbits, they then all carry on together on foot with frodo beside them on Glorfindel's horse until they are confronted by the black riders, Glorfindel shouts the his horse in elvish and it carries frodo off ON HIS OWN, frodo rides solo chased by the black riders to the ford where the riders are swept away by the 'Cavalry of waves'

  • @ThePaulingtonbear

indeed, you forgot Glorfindel showing himself in his "glowing" full strength scaring Ulari and chasing them to ford.can imagine Arwen in this position, but this is one of many scenes which would look better if Jackson went with the book. imho.

  • The horse is incredible. So proud anf full of power. Amazing.

  • Glorfindor saved Frodo in the book. While this would normally bother me.. the scene is breath taking and I love to watch it... over and over again.

  • @hexmark13

    Glorfindel ;)

  • i love this part :)

  • i can shay the elvish line

  • My dog is named arwen

  • 1:07, 1:08 LOL

  • @1282louise Hehe :P

  • I like this scene but they should have done it right and had glorfindel do this. Arwen doesn't have a big part in the book, she is only mentioned a few times. They could have cut her out completely and have a 30 minute scene with Tom Bombadil, that would've been awesome...

  • she's a good rider..

  • I get chills just listening to her voice :)

  • call me sad but i used to act out this scene with my friend lol in the playground. When we got to the river my friend was all 'say the magic words' and i was like 'please' and she was like 'no the elven language!!!'

And another time i was telling my friend to be all 'if you want him come and claim him' and showed her the big sword pulling hand action she was supposed to do but she misinterpreted it and was all 'if you want him come and claim him' and she threw frodo's body into the river

  • he said "give up the halfling she-elf but "bitch sounds beter lol

  • i love the way she talks to the horse x x

  • There were 4 People Swimming in that River when the Wave came...

  • magic

  • Does anyone know where this part was filmed?

  • Comment removed

  • GOOGLE REVELATIONS 12

  • love the music~

  • what kind of innocuous nazgul just handreach Frodo, pull out the freakin' swords and hew the horse down.

  • The Lord of The Rings forever!

  • this is one of my favorite scenes of all time

  • cant quite pick btw this scene and the twilight chasing victoria scene theyre both awesome

  • @killinswatido wth...there's no comparison. LOTR FTW

  • @coconutsurvivor03 you must be one of those LOTR crazy fans cuz the victoria scene in twilight is just as sexy

  • @killinswatido lol i like twilight too though. i just don't think it can be compared x]

  • @coconutsurvivor03 i see what you mean LOTR came out way before twilight and has much more respect than twilight.. there completely different movie types in my opinion but both those scenes give me chills thas why i tried to compare them but........ its not working

  • his eyes are really blue in this movie

  • it chills me everytime I watch it. Epic !!!

  • Shis is a freaking Beauty.

  • "If you want him come and claim hin" chills everytime!!!

  • epic scene! :)

  • I love the shot with the Nazgul on one side of the river, and Arwen with her upraised sword, horse half-rearing, on the other. It should be a painting. Or something.

  • Ha.The Nazgul got taken out by the Guinness advert ^.^

  • That's some powerful elf magic.

  • You think 1 of the 9 nazgul would have said "Ok, you guys keep chasing them with the horses, I'll go back and get one of our winged beasts. We will get the ring and all meet back at Dennys for breakfast"

  • @venomasm That would be anticlimactic and historically incorrect. Nazgul's obvoiusly go to IHOP's for breakfast...come on, are you sure you read the book? :P

  • @venomasm Lol. Although I think they left the fell beasts in mordor, and I don't think the elves would just let a giant winged snake fly freely through their territory.

  • "Nin o Chithaeglir lasto beth daer; Rimmo nin Bruinen dan in Ulaer! Nin o Chithaeglir lasto beth daer; Rimmo nin Bruinen dan in Ulaer!"

"Waters of the Misty Mountains listen to the great word; flow waters of Loudwater against the Ringwraiths! Waters of the Misty Mountains listen to the great word; flow waters of Loudwater against the Ringwraiths!"

  • @KPODIK Is it tough to learn Elvish?

  • @DIANAROSS4EVER

No, not really. It's just like any other language. I did it as a special project in school. haha! Got an A on it.

  • @kpodik1 Are you joking, or are you for real? If you aren't would you be so kind to tell me how I can learn it?

  • @crushni Hahaha, no joke! I googled like crazy. Read books. So my biggest tip is google. And if ur really interested in learning elvish, I found people to be really helpfull :)

    - Quel marth ;) (Good luck)

  • @kpodik1 Thanks for the reply, I googled and found this german guy who seem to be serious. I'll keep in touch with him. Thank you :)

  • 1:53 epic!!!!!!!!!!

  • My favourite sequence in the whole film!

  • I HAVE to go to New Zealand before I die!

  • umm, I don't know if anyone knows this, but I THINK Aragorn and Arwen are related.

Aragorn came from the line of Numeronean Kings, i.e. the line of Elros. Elros, in fact, was Elrond's brother.

  • @drumsrule1011 They are but are very distantly related. By ten of generations at least if I remember correctly.

  • discription :S

  • 2:12-2:46 epic!!!!

  • I know it's all about looking good in the final piece, but they could have used a quicker horse for the chase scene. In the books Glorfindel completely outran the Black Riders. Andalusians don't look as good in chase/run scenes because they have too much knee action...A gray quarter horse or half TB would have been a better choice.

  • @hanoverianjumpers101 when the raiths are really close it made it all the more intense to watch.

  • @platinumare I know that, but it looks a little ridiculous when she speaks to the horse to go "faster" and you can obviously see him pulling at the bit and her holding him back. It's quite unapparent to the non-horsey folks and the scenes were greatly played out, I'm just saying it would have been even better to have fast horses.

  • @hanoverianjumpers101 I would love fast horses too, but have you ever tried filming horses at a flat out gallop, they move in and out of shot very very fast, it is almost impossible, I imagine this scene alone possibly took them the longest, as to fit in all the horses to emphasise a chase whilst flitting through forrest would have been horrendous.

  • @platinumare I suppose, and I imagine filming that would be difficult, but not impossible. They have tracks for moving cameras and they can put them at any speed they like. I'm not talking race-horse fast, but more than a slow canter.

  • @hanoverianjumpers101 They put her on the most elegant and regal of horses. They would've had to try really hard to find a quarter horse that was that majestic and that would fit the 'elven horse' title. They chose right.

  • @karugari Of course they did, because it's a movie, not a book.

  • yeah it was glorfindel in the books, not arwen in this scene

  • An interesting comparison is 'Watership Down' where Richard Adams freely admited the lead character 'Hazel' was based on his commanding officer in WW2.

  • It's a fascinating film and story - mostly because its so misunderstood.

Tolkien was a junior officer in WW1 and his definative emotional exprience was battle on the Western front. 'The fellowship of the ring' - is the 'combat fellowship' that only soldiers who have experienced battle understand.

The 'haflings' Frodo and Sam - the infantry he commanded, and the final scene, where Frodo gives in to the power of the ring, Tolkiens own collapse from combat exhaustion.

  • Hey, thank you so much for posting this. Very much appreciated! : )

  • even though they shoulda stuck to the book and put Glorfindel in this scene its still one of the most memorable :) Liv really Bought Arwen to life

  • The Nazgul hunted down those 4 dislikes.

  • I love Liv !

  • My Favorite part of the movie is at 2:10

  • This is so awesome ... :D

thanks for posting this! exatly as I want it!

  • favorite part of the movie ♥

  • I wish they had better effects at the time, it's sooo cheasy starting 2:37

  • This is my favourite scene of all the films. 0:56 and 1:00 are so intense, but I get goosebumps at 1:10......... Narolim Asfaloth!

  • HER HORSE IS HELLA SEXY

  • Nin o Chithaeglir, lasto beth daer. Rimmo nin Bruinen, dan in Ulaer... wuuuuuuuush

  • @whaam10 Learn English you batty

  • @kassimkhan1000 learn sindarin ... batty yourself

  • @whaam10 nerd

  • @whaam10

Waters of the Misty Mountains, listen to the great word. Flow waters of Loudwater, against the Ringwraiths...

    wuuuuuuush

  • @whaam10 sounds like a sigur ros song! and that even includes the "wuuuuuuush"

  • I agree, this is my favourite scene too.

Although Glorfindel would have been more true to the books, Peter Jackson was right, it just doesn't work for films to create such a big deal of a character that's only in just one scene.

Anyone who hadn't read the books would then be like "okay so what's happening to Glori now? Why didn't he go in the f/s ?"

  • @JimmyPuntJP332 i liked the change actually. cuz it actually gave arwen an actual roll other than just being a beautiful piece of eye candy to the audience or arm candy for strider

  • even though this scene isn't in the book, it my favourite scene in the movie.

  • Arwen merely prayed to Poseidon. No one has control over the waters but him ;) Don't you people know a Hippocamp when you see one? heh

  • I agree, find this part so moving I tear up every time I see it!

  • I know good should prevail, but the evil characters are always depicted as to damn cool and kickass. I mean take the nazguls and the balrog for example. If it wasn't for Gandalf, who is as cool as it gets for a good guy, I almost wished for the balrog to win. :D

  • The 2:10 part is SO awesome!! : -"Nin o Chithaenglir, lasto beth daer, Rimmo nin Bruinen dan in Ulaer!!- Elvish sounds so cool!!!

  • wow. they really almost had her. I bet Tolkien would have approved of this scene.

  • @Mockingbird5150 Doubt it. Arwen isin't even suposed to be here.

  • fucking great

  • Give up the halfling, bitch. lol

  • Nîn o Chithaeglir

    lasto beth daer;

    Rimmo nîn Bruinen

    dan in Ulaer!

  • I used to ride long distance trail rides riding doubles is hard to do with the tight turns in this scene also this scene is my fav of the lotr collection if it were not for arwen in this scene all would of been lost yet many whom have watched the film deem stryder the hero this scene was the dark horse no pun intended lol love it thank you for posting it the greatest chase scene done on horseback ever

  • love when she is saying the words, so the water-horses comes!!

  • Idiot, Nazgul run from an onrushing Elven-flood. Idiots...

  • omg around 22 seconds if I was her I would have been SO SCARED!.

    Just invent cars already...

  • I own all three films in extended versions and limited editions, all of them I greatly love... but the first one really really stands out no matter what!

One of the reasons is b/c in the first movie you get to see the "fighter" in Arwen ;) this scene gives me the chills every time I see it.. probably one of the best scenes ever and well created by Peter Jackson.

  • @musicalgurl0726 i'm not sure Arwen is a fighter. She just has no fear of the Nazgul that's the beauty of this scene you get a greater understanding of the fact the Elves don't fear the Nazgul. In the book he never expands on who Glorfindel is and how powerful he really is, in my opinion one of Tolkien's great flaws is not exploring all his characters.

  • @musicalgurl0726 This whole trillogy gives me chills

  • One of my favorite scenes from The lord of the rings. I wish I owned that white stallion!

  • norolim asphaloth

  • what is the track called?

  • Liv Tyler as Arwen Evenstar... a better choice of actress for character could not have been found. Ditto for Hugo Weaving as Elrond.

NORO LIM is basically the Elvish "giddyap!" It translates as "Ride on!" or "Ride hard!"

There is another similar horse command in Elvish to urge an Elven steed to run his fastest: FARO SUL - "Chase the wind!"

  • @NCTaikoDrumboy Out of interest, sindarin or quenya?

    *ashamed of my geekiness*
