  • some wise comments from a couple of top rate musicians.

  • 最高!

  • Maton Guitars are the most awesome acoustic guitars ever they all have such a unique sound to them you dont have to necessary play well the guitar does that for you. But in Martin & Tommies case they are just that good.

  • Tommy rocks.

  • Just how are you supposed to play with a name like this? OMG...

  • please what guitar is thommy playing. i like it. small body and sensitive. any recommendations for my small purse?thx

  • @peterweltweit it is a maton from australia....

  • tommy said i thought jazz was a circus music lol....yeah i too thought it was a tom and jerry music

  • Ésto es música!!!

  • @ 6:27 Tommy Emmanuel: "...because I...,everybody has their own way of expressing the music, Whether you call it jazz or not, it makes no difference..."

  • why do you have to play like thissssssssssssssssssssss????? :((((((((((((((((( ...ufffffffffff !!!

  • what could be better form this? nothing!!! absolutely beautiful.

  • the guy on the left has a sweet sweet guitar

  • The two finest guitarists in the world today?

  • Anyone have the partitur?

  • 0:00 to 4:52 is the best interview, which I saw ever :)

  • "The world is a small place, but I wouldn't want to paint it!" Pure class

  • @venusreprise

    The song is:

Glenn Miller - The Nearness Of You

    ur welcome. :)

  • For your information, the interview stops at 4:51.

  • I know MT currently plays a Peerless but what guitar is he playing in this video?

  • @joelg125 AEX 1500 Yamaha, discountinued I believe.

  • two of the all time greats! like watching Mantle and Ruth in baseball

  • what is the name of the song on the title ?

  • for me Tommy plays much more varied and interesting... When plaing Martin you know how it be before he start... I think its good for etheryone guitarist in every style to play variable and use all tembres and capabilities of instrument , becouse its look just more interesting ( if it used in the right time , ofc :)

  • this beautiful , this song is called the nearness of you ,

  • How's Martin's little fade out 4.40-4.50

    ? Brilliant.

  • martin taylor has one of the most cleanest guitars I ever heard

  • What's the name of that opening tune that Martin Taylor plays, anyone knows? Sounds great! Like some happy African tune or something..

  • The emotional expression captured here is so deep that the amazing techniques they are playing is in the background. That is the best kind of technique of all.

  • the other c.g.p's next to the original one chet atkins

  • too much talent at the same time i cant handle it

  • I would settle for being 1/1,000th as good as either of these guys

  • It took me a minute to believe that was his real name! Martin Taylor!! haha Awesome.

  • Name is Martin Taylor? You were born to play guitar.

  • great video!

  • this is not about who is the best . it's about two wonderful musicians making beautiful music together ! they both just have different styles. it don't get much prettier than this !

  • omg, really OMG. The bassline he makes in the end 09:00 with his thumb, it sounds like a bass damn it!!!

  • This is my favorite version of Rolling in the Deep!

  • This is guitar Heaven.

  • What does he think of Martin and Taylor guitars?

  • 5:41martin:your touring schedule is.. legendary

  • tommy called him the governor!!! because taylor is the governor!!

  • taylor is a different class and more fluent!! much more fluent!!

  • @vinnothelizard Well, Martin Taylor is predominantly a jazz player (a damn fine one) while Emmanuel playing is much more rooted in country, bluegrass and delta blues. Of course they will have a different approach and this tune is much more in line with Taylors playing than Emmanuels... Yes, Taylor has a much more fluent style but he can't begin to compete with Emmanuel with regard to attack, intensity, diversity and plain fire that makes Emmanuel one of my absolute favourite guitar players.

  • @buugiman78 different folks and strokes- taylors runs are smooth. but tommy plays songs right through from start to finish, no accompaniment - overall better player

  • @toejam498 I wouldn't say Emmanuel is better than Taylor. I mean, they are both world class players. They are just different, and that's what makes music so wonderful. It's not about competition. All good players have their own style and musical identity. Tommy's playing might resonate more with my personal taste, but I find it pointless to talk in terms of who is better than the other.

  • @buugiman78

Exactly. Music is not a contest.

  • Who knows the name of song starting 8:53? It's simple & amazing at once!

  • Some partnerships are ,symbolically speaking, made in heaven.Like Bix Beiderbecke when he played with Louie Armstrong that was never recorded.

  • 3.39-3.41. Wes Montgomery lick? I could listen to these guys all day long. What a joy it must be, at the top of the tree.

  • Folks like them are the reason why I love guitar so much, even though my playing would not be considered guitar playing at all after listening to these masters.

  • Chet Atkins must be smiling!

  • A Master class in the first few minutes... AWESOME AWESOME !!!!

  • spellbinding

  • The scariest thing is they understand it all... :)

  • absolutely beautiful!

  • สง่ามากๆ ครับ

  • I really think that Martin and Tommy are a very interesting pair of guitar players. Martin is so good at accompanying... I am stunned by him playing the Yamaha AEX 1500 .. I believe he was in on the design ....so cool and I would like their CD and the Nichols is fine butthe Taylor Emmanuel would be outstanding

    Cheers and Thanks for posting

  • I love the way this song was play the sound came out your soul I enjoy you two guy keep it up!

  • @simotazoa It's really beautiful :)

  • One of the best things to watch is two outstanding artists play together... the musical effect doesn't just add up, it multiplies. Just wow.

  • Martin Taylor at Festival Chitarra Menaggio on august 27 !

    info at festivalchitarramenaggio(dot)com

  • Mr. Taylors fingers look like a crab dancing over the frett boared. Saw him live in Wakefield, UK, blew me away, and today.

  • I'd love to see one of these interviews with Joe Pass. God rest his soul!

  • Holy crap! This is fantastic!

  • @BoroAcustico "The Nearness of You". Amazing tune.

  • Go make an album!

  • beautiful

  • 2 people are seriously fucked in the head

  • How fortunate I am! I have seen both of these giants in person. Martin in Green Valley, AZ and Tommy (Tony Enamel) in Hutchinson, KS. I would walk through fire to see them both again! I never get enough of either of them. It is hard to believe that one person could have as much talent as each of them has. Thanks for the video!

  • Holly cow! what a duo!!

  • Reminds me of Herb Ellis n Joe Pass two for the road album. Absolutley beautiful the way they play off one another.Taylor not only a masterful guitarist but fantastic interviewer as well.

  • Beautiful conversation of two masters .

  • 3:49 I have never seen or heard anyone do bending PLUS harmonics that melodically.

  • @lgrode - have a listen to Tommy playing his arrangement of the Beatles' song Michelle to get a fuller experience of his playing harmonics.

  • @c211sk ...yes. Luckily I've heard as much Tommy Emmanuel as possible over the years. You're right, 'Michelle' and I'd have to say 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' feature it the most. Plus his tutorials on harmonics....

  • @lgrode u see martin taylor is a really good jazzguitarist but tommy kill him with these kind of playing look again and see him in his eyes:D tommy is the real grandmaster of all kind of music !! technically tremendously amazing

  • @keulito1983 music isn't a contest. "Killing" isn't a place for music. These guys are close friends.

  • like chet akins and les paul all over again, great very good players obviously.

  • Brilliant

  • OMG!!!

  • Purty!

  • OK boys and girls - this is so beautiful it HURTs! gotta listen

  • is this just a jam? omg... ^^

  • that's soo good!!!

  • pure music..... to my ears

  • Beautiful. Probably the best two solo acoustic guitarists in the world right now (honourary mention to pepe d'agostino). I've seen Martin 5 or 6 times, but would love to see Tommy, just missed out venue wise, next time I'm there!

Django and Wes are in my top 3 - 5 Jazz guitarists too, amazing instrmentalists.

  • what jazz standard is this?

  • @undryoasis

The Nearness of You by Ned Jones and Hoagy Carmichael

  • fabulous ! : )

  • Makes me want to practice more!

  • I selfishly love this clip.

  • AMAZING

  • @SergeMARC1 Amen ;-DD
