Very quick question. I'm scripting an event that is to happen, I want it to be activited by a ''Script event'' not a ''Person event'' so I want the event to happen when I'm standing on a script event that I placed on the map. I made the script for the event. But when I play it in the game, if I step on the tile i placed the event on. Nothing happens and my hero stops moving. What should've happened is the someone walks over to my hero and say's a text.

using XSE is an easier way of scripting, BUT i would recommend using notepad and pokéscript it's easier. Don't need FSF and all that.

I had a hard time finding 1.1.1 version since the HackMew's thread link didn't work , you can find it on Filecrop(dot)com , it works fine and is not deleted.(just search XSE 1.1.1 and it will show you a single result (or maybe more i just grabbed the top rated so idk) ) .

... When I talk to the guy I put the offset to, it brings me to the exact same thing that would happen if I was at a Pokemart. It says, 'Buy' 'Sell' 'See ya!' Then I click 'Buy' The screen goes black and freezes. What did I do wrong? With every tutorial I look at this same thing happens, I used Pokescript before and that happened, and now I'm using XSE 1.1.1 and it still happened... Help?

@legotoontown obviously u dont know anything about this game. i mean the rom ITSELF is corrupted... not the SAVE file. wen the save is corrupted that doesnt mean the ROM itself is corrupted... it just means the existing adventure is....

Hey, I was going through your tutor and when you hit the compile button, mine didn't look the same. You have that one section that says 'Dynamic Offsets'. Mine doesn't have that on the bottom. My first thought was you must have a newer version, but mine is also v1.1.1

So, what does that mean? Why doesn't mine have the Dynamic Offsets, like yours does?

i know that you mentioned the thing about compiling. but i do have my rom loaded! i load it, the gears get the box around them when you go over them but then you click them and nothing happens. i am absolutely certain i have loaded the rom!

@AuraKeeper i have a question. how can every thing work fine when the message box isnt opening up. um people have had this problem before and i really have no clue. most of the time other people have just answered the question for me. um. this is the only thing i can think of. do you have eXtreme Script Editor Version 1.1.1. because in 1.1.1, the commands have changed so yeah, thats all i can think of

I followed every one of your steps but every time I talk to the person I only hear a beep and no text comes up. I have given it a code from the fat man in Pallet town and it worked, so I know it isn't the ROM's fault. Strangley enough, I get the same problem when working with Pocketscript. I have tried five different dynamic offset script codes, but each has the same result. Please help!

@dshrecksBW seriously? now ive never seen THAT before................. uumm even though the fat guys script workd that doesnt mean that the rom isnt corruptted.... get a new rom.... thats all i can really suggest

@Pokedude987 I have tried five different roms so far, three of the same game and one of Pokemon Ruby. So far they all do the same thing. My free space finder works just fine and brings up numbers that are almost the same as the ones you used on a rom I haven't tampered with yet.

@dshrecksBW I have viewed around nine other tutorials so far and there are many posts with the same problem I am having, them only beeping with no other reaction. I have noticed that when I do not insert a valid script code that my game locks up, so it must be reading the script to some degree. I think it may be with the commands. What versoin of XSE do you use?

yeah that may be it. do you hav v1.1.1? if not then instead of "msgbox" you should use "message"
