Man that brings back some memories. I'm glad I found this video. Can you tell me, do you know if Pontiac came out in 1979 with a built 455 factory 4-spd w/o the Bird Emblem?? Supposedly the car I traded off was a LTD 1979 455 factory 4 spd. w/no t-tops. Trouble is the guy I sold it to wrapped it around a telephone pole pulling out of his drive the day after I sold it so I will never be able to check the car as they had to scrap it.
@CootsMayhem the 79 trans am never had the 455 as an option that year, just the olds 403 was the biggest you could get and the manual tranny was not an option. but like myself alot of people do the 455 swap wich is almost effortless.
@fordxbgtfalcon 4sp muncie m22 rock crusher was avail in 79 with PONTIAC 400 225HP engine very rare bout 2500. silver anniversary, most did come with 185HP 403 with 350thm trans
@CootsMayhem No....pretty sure they just came out with the Olds 403 as factory for that year but I could be wrong though but if I was to guess on it like I said just the Olds 403... Glad you liked the video

That is VERY impressive considering the era and size of that car.
Fuel economy was #1 and that car is two times the size and weight of a similarly performing Civic with the performance vtec and such.
