These outbursts of violence by the Uighers and the Tibetans are the result of tensions caused by these people feeling :
1) Their culture is being eroded by the influx of Han settlers,
2) Resentment that they are being economically and culturally marginalized in their own ancestral land,
3) Treated as second-class citizens and discriminated against by the majority Han Chinese.

Actually, slavery is alive and well in China today.
Let the Dalai Lama setup the Democratic government he's been asking for in Tibet, and I guarantee there will be no slavery.
