People are confusing Smog, Carbon Monoxide (CO) and the pollutants in car exhaust with the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Pollution is already regulated under the Clean Air Act and regulating Carbon Dioxide (CO2) will do absolutely nothing to make the air you breath "cleaner". It has only "warmed" 0.7°C in the last 100 Years.

I've been saying for 2 years now that this is total nonsense. Mars is getting warmer too....I didn't know soccer moms in their mini-vans and SUVs were dropping kids off at soccer practice there too. Exactly, as soon as carbon credits must be purchased, who gets to sell them? Oh yes, Al Gore's company and also the government gets to regulate it all.

Then there is cap and trade, which is just a tax on energy. The money gets paid for the credit to a company that wasn't using much energy to do it's work anyway, so there is no reduction of emissions.

Plus we make it more expensive to operate in America, so they just move more production and purchase more materials from China; we lose jobs.
