Enslaved are really nice guys.. after the Toronto show they stayed behind to sign autographs .. i got me a t-shirt and they autographed my ticket stub... concert was amazing too but I already knew they would rock the live stage. I didn't know it but Enslaved also got a good sense of humor, sharing a few jokes between songs with the crowd..
I add Enslaved to my "Nicest Band I've Ever Met" list.
Hey Mike. First thing: Good job on the interview. If I could offer some critiques:
1) Try to filter out background noise. I could hear two women talking when some of your questions were being asked / answered.
2) Could you provide a freeze-frame reference early on in the video as to what your interviewee looks like on stage? I couldn't quite place Ice Dale on stage.
3) I really liked that you put clips of songs in between the questions; it broke things up in a positive way.
@DisrespectYou Thanks. Couldn't do anything about the background noise. There wasn't a quiet place to do the interview. I didn't have the gear to mic him up and I couldn't make everyone in the club be quiet. It's either put it up with the background noise or don't post it. He's the shirtless one \m/
@ShredGuitarAcademy Oh, that's okay. I figured most of those things were the case. I still enjoyed the interview nonetheless! Oh, and my word limit ran out on my last post. So, my final critique (request?) would be: Could you ask your interviewees for any advice on how they got to where they are now? Thanks, man!
@DisrespectYou I'll add it to the list for future interviews. The whole thing was last minute. I had my little camera & nothing else & asked their tour manager. I wrote a bunch of quick questions into my phone during the show. Half of them were for Ivar the other guitar player and founding member. But he wasn't available to do it & they were really pressed for time as they had to leave for Seattle right away. I was hoping to be able to talk to them on their bus but there were rules against that.
@ShredGuitarAcademy That's a bummer, dude. The questions were solid and I enjoyed them. But, that's just from my perspective. I'm not a big metal head so I felt that the questions were well rounded. But, maybe you could call ahead before the next show you want to post-up and schedule a mini-expose type of thing? If this avenue worked, I'm sure that you could go into deeper depth with questions regarding influences, future plans, songwriting, etc. I don't know, I'm just spit-balling here.
@DisrespectYou It's like anything. In the industry we have a saying, You do the best with what you've got, get going and try to improve as you go, otherwise you don't end up doing anything. I'm not sure what industry I'm talking about and as far as I know I'm not in one. But I think that's the first best step to sounding pro. Preface everything you say with "Well in the industry..." \m/
