  • PLEASE HELP. it all works fine until it type INSTALL and dosbox says its a illegal command

  • Comment removed

  • When I went to install it as huge it said i didn't have enough room for the minimum version and I checked and I should have enough room

  • K I installed it and everything. I played it for a bit and then closed it. I have no idea how to re open it please help.

  • option a different setting besides the left click on the mouse, but it's still not working out. Maybe I should just plug in the XBox controller and just run it off that? I have no idea lol! If you could assist me with some ideas, then that would be great. Thanks again! All the best!

  • Thanks a bunch man for posting! I downloaded the game from the Elder Scrolls website, and it said I need to pay about 10 bucks for a card or something like that. But then again I came across this video which was a relief, so thanks again lol. By the way did you have any trouble with attacking when you first got it hooked up? Because all of the controls are fine, but for some reason it won't let me swing my sword. I tried making the attack (cont.)

  • how can this work on a 32bit pc?

  • @richaisianman2 What do you mean?

  • Do I have to install it every time?

  • Thanks so much for posting this I've been trying all day to get this to work. I have a question. How would I use this for other games? Should I create individual folders in the folder "DOSGAMES"? Thanks! Sorry for the stupid question.

  • @MagicDolphin93 Not a stupid question at all. The answer is that you answered your own question. The easiest way to keep things organized is create separate folders for each game. That way when you boot up dosbox you simply change directories (cd) to the folder want, then whatever command is typed to play the game.

  • @NerdsnJunk I've got everything in organized folders now. Now for some reason I can't seem to type the right command to play the game. I mount everything correctly but everytime I try to make it go to c:\dagger it won't work. Any ideas?

  • what about if you can't find dosbox options in windows xp on the start menu?????

    PLEASE HELP ME

  • @Eddieyo117 If it's not in the start menu you should be able to find the options file on your C drive where DOSBOX is installed. Most likely in C:\Program Files\DOSBOX or something similar.

  • If "DAGGER" Does not work, try typing "fall.exe z.cfg"

  • @MrGrislyCastle thanks

  • @TheMaicomX No problem

  • I have this as my startup command in the config file for dosbox:

    mount c C:\DOS -freesize 1000

    mount d C:\Dos\dfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall

    C:

    cd dagger

I type in "dagger" to start the game and it spits out the "Unable to locate Daggerfall CD." error.

Am I doing something wrong or should this work?

  • when i type installl at the end it says illegal ccommand

  • oh and plus this totally worked for me ty so much

  • oh man i loved your txt message warning on your phone, were you get it?

  • please PLEASE answer after i type in dagger i says :looks like you inserted the wrong cd.please insert your daggerfall cd in your cdrom and try again

    please help

  • @TheYouranapple Try re-mounting DFCD

  • @NerdsnJunk it worked THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH I LOVE YOU NO HOMO!!!

  • How do I change the directory to DAGGER?

  • @sniperking90100 simply type cd (as in Change Directory) then the path you want to change to. So if DAGGER was located in your C: drive, it'll look like this:

    C:\>cd dagger

    c:\DAGGER>

  • Thanks so much!!!! I have watched and looked at tons of guides none of them worked except yours. THANKS!!!!!

  • Thank you so much. This video actually helped me, other than the other installations guides. Do you think you could make a video on how to install Arena? Thanks.

  • thx so much

  • Mine says illegal command! Can anyone help??

  • I type in (mount d c:\games\DFCD -t cdrom -label Daggerfall) and it comes up with

(Directory c:\games\DFCD doesn't exist) Help please

  • @TheOldBadgerr Make sure DFCD is indeed in your /games/ folder.

  • @NerdsnJunk When I type Mount d c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label daggerfall it says that it's an illegal type CDROM but I downloaded it straight from the elderscrolls website, what do I do??!??!?!

  • thank you, i watched over 10 videos, nothing helped but you :) I owe you :)

  • mine for some reason keeps saying that it ran into a problem whenever I try to play it. Help?

  • Thanks for the help, finally got it to work.

  • @pena288 I HAVE THIS PROBLEM 2! HELP PLEASE

  • thanks man favorite like and sub :)

  • Hey NerdsnJunk, i ran into an issue when i typed in dagger on the last step -_-, basically it says Daggerfall has detected the error 0.

    Press RETURN TO quit...

    Help?!? D:

  • ty i subbed

  • @alexr1915

    Thanks for the sub! :D

  • how much free disk space i need to install it on huge??

  • @dountis 450MB, thats why before you even install the game you give the virtual C drive a size of 1000.

  • @NerdsnJunk and if i install it on normal??

  • @dountis It'll use less space, but access your virtual CD more.

  • Thanks for the video, this helped rather than every other source. Just for the people out there, make sure your DVD drive or CD drive is correct. Mine is the E: drive, therefore I can't use the D: drive.

  • you type really hard...

  • What program did you use to record this? More importantly, is said program free?

  • @Steelix2007 I used a program called Camtasia Studio 7. It contains many useful tools, one of which is a desktop recorder! It is not free however.

  • HELPED OUT MEGA TOOK ME 2 WEEKS TILL I FOUND THIS

    THANKS!

  • So helpfull, really thanks ! Now after playing TES III / IV & V, back to TES II ! x) :D

  • Can you please help, when I exited out of the game I have NO CLUE AT ALL on how to get back onto the game. Can you please make a video or a more detailed way of how to do this?

  • @Videomashupco So, when you leave the game you want to immediatly get back into the game? Or are you saying you exit the game, close out DOSBox and some time later you want to get into the game?

  • @NerdsnJunk Its ok, I figured it out. For how old the game is it is actually really fun.

  • @NerdsnJunk ya option 2 is the one

  • Hello, this isn't related to the video. just wanted to say i like your windows desktop wall paper. where did you get it?

  • @yelabye The wallpaper is actually the background for the login screen for the game EVE Online. Should make it easier to find now. :D

  • @NerdsnJunk Oh nice thank you. Did you use photoshop to get rid the EVE ONLINE wording/ text? I couldn't find the bankground without the words.

  • I get an issue where i have to reinstall everytime please help

  • "illegal command" WHY DO I KEEP GETTING THIS?????

  • Comment removed

  • u are awesome. nuff sed. works PERFECTLY

  • its saying i inserted the wrong cd

  • I have NO idea what im doing wrong, i mount and mount but it no work... how do i change the directory to DAGGER? isnt that like the second mount just instead of DFCD its DAGGER?

  • I have dosbox but what the fuck is zipfile

  • Is your text message tone the sound which plays on Metal Gear Solid when an enemy spots you?

  • is there anyway to start up and install daggerfall with out haveing to type thoses codes every time ?

  • @byerscm Yes! What you need to do is open your dosbox.conf file located in the program directory. Open the file with a text editor of some sort. Then, scroll down to a section labled [autoexec]. Below this section you will type in what you want dosbox to do as it opens. So if you want it to just mount your disc, put "mount c c:\DOSBOX" or whatever. If you then want it to change to your dagger directory, on the second line put "cd DAGGER" etc. etc.

    Hope this helped!

  • @NerdsnJunk i hope GOG games can make a installer for daggerfall like they did with the other dos games like redneck rampage , blood duke nukem 3d

  • wut buttons to extract?

  • everything installed fine and I setup up the sound and it took me to the screen at the end of your video where you said just type dagger to play, and I typed dagger and it said: "Looks like you inserted the wrong CD. Please insert your daggerfall cd into your cdrom and try again" (press any key).

Am I missing something here? Why did it install perfectly only to say i need a cd? Please help!

  • @wiiagent I figured it out through a forum! For anyone with the same problem as me after you install it, and it says you have the wrong cd or need a cd after typing dagger, just simply type: FALL.EXE Z.CFG

...and it will work perfectly! Now I got my self a game to go play! Peace!

  • @wiiagent bless you man, i couldn't find crap to help.

  • Comment removed

  • @grabis123 Be sure you mounted the CD. This has to be done EVERYTIME you open DOSBOX.

  • Hi, I got to the install screen and when I confirmed it came up with a message 'DOS: File not found data\font0000 .fnt' do you know how I can get round this?

  • @farrell360 i got the same thing

  • @ChickenWangU All I can say about that is try to re-download and re-install the game. I've never encounter that particular problem before.

  • Thanks alot! best guide out there for this particular thing imo :)

  • once you exit it how u get back on it

  • @gamer222ful What do you mean? When you exit the game it should take you right back to the DOSBOX screen with the prompt C:/DAGGER/>. At that point just type dagger again to start the game back up.
