One of the most recognized Russian conductor, conducting one of the worlds most established orchestra, playing one of the world's most beautiful piece of music... what more could you ask for...
This is one of the pieces that first introduced me to the sublime world of classical music in the early 1960s. I was so impressed by a radio broadcast of this music that I went straight out to a record store and bought the LP vinyl record. I still have it stowed away somewhere in the mad, mad world that I call my basement. But it would be easier and more practical for me to buy a new CD, my 40+ year old Fisher "hi-fidelity" phonograph isn't exactly state of the art equipment these days.
